In Shizu's defense, if you look at a map of Japan, every square inch of flat land is completely jammed with the maximum density of people. But all of the mountains, over 50% of the land area, are virtually uninhabited.

I was the one that did that copypasta initially. I remembered looking more into Shizu's namesake after that, and the shit just gets deeper.

Takagamo's surname happened to be allocated with a group of shrines that registered under the protection of the Japanese government since Heian period, and that clan happened to be an offshoot of the Kamo clan 賀茂氏 that dates from the Yayoi period. These shrines all follow the path of the Kamo river.
The Kamo were major political faction during Asuka and Heian Japan. The legacy of this clan would be found with the Kamo river (鴨川, originally rendered 賀茂川), that goes from Nara all the way to Kyoto. The shrine mentioned above is situated at the base of Mount Kongo, and there are two shrines bearing the same kamo name at Kyoto. (partly a legacy with Emperor Kammu moving his capital from Nara to Kyoto back in mid 700AD )

Yatagarasu, the three-legged crow that lead the aforementioned mythical emperor Jimmu on the path to establish a sovereign Japanese rule (viewed as the founding emperor of Japan) was said to be the progenitor of the Kamo clan. Furthermore, the Kamo crest is actually carried over to the Matsudaira clan, which is relevant in the context that Tokugawa Leyasu is actually an offshoot to the Matsudaira, and that clan got started on Kamo territory apparently. This means that it is entirely possible that Tokugawa Leyasu who founded that last shogunate (from 1600-1800s) claimed the legacy of the Kamo in his bid to be the Shogun of Japan.

That would be a massive cop out, because none of the Achiga members have a personal reason to win the Interhigh.
All they want is to play with Nodoka again, which is a little difficult since the member playing her doesn't actually know her.
Actually, Arata does have a reason to win (surpassing Harue), but the rest don't since they've already achieved their personal goal.
Compare that to Kiyosumi, where you have Saki, who wants to reconnect to the sister she's been estranged from for 7-8 years, Hisa who waited two years to play in the interhigh team tournament (which will also be her last competitive high school tournament since she failed to qualify for individuals), or Nodoka, who's playing to ensure that she can play competitively in the future. Just look above: monkey is no longer just mere folklore, but she's being tied to the founding narrative of the Japanese state, a treatment given to no other Saki.

The Japanese view has always been that of 非理法權天 heaven trumps the rulers who trumps the rules who trumps logic which trumps boors.) This means that the individual aspirations of the other teams are up against a manifestation of the heavens when you look at this Shizu, something that is painted beyond mere good and evil. Hell, the only thing that Sakisan has going for her is that her luck is a force beyond good and evil at that.
