On the other hand, suppose Oliva ran into Gouki in the brackets - he "lost" to him when they fought later, because judo kind of hard-counters Oliva's brute force style.

Or what if he'd had to deal with Retsu's chinese kungfu-bullshit?

A fight with Hanayama would have been interesting - if Hanayama does his "explode your arm" thing, can Oliva just manipulate his muscles to negate it?

Yo, I don't know if any of you noticed, but some faggot got the SpinyBack website marked as Web Forgery (at least on Firefox). I doubt that's enough to make Spiny quit yet (so long as he can get it fixed), but all I can say is he's really pissed about people fucking with the website and probably getting close to doing so.

If anybody knows an easy way to get rid of that fright-tag, it would be much appreciated.

Oliva would be immune to Hanayama's pressure. He's too strong. The point was to show that Oliva didn't have any combat skills. Remember way back when, where Yuujiro flipped Kuriyagawa on his finger? I interpreted it like that. A display of impossibly greater force. That's why they did the glove thing and strength competition instead of Yuujiro just beating him into the earth. It also served as a foreboding sign: even if Oliva is the second or third strongest person in the world, there's a huge gap between those numbers.

Uhhh, no. That's something Doppo said about Shinshinkai Karate specifically. Speck had a fucking gun, Dorian had half a nuclear arsenal in his stomach, Doyle was plastered in weapons, Yanagi had his kusarifundo. In reality, the only one that didn't try to kill anyone significant with a weapon was Sikorsky. And I'm assuming you didn't read the manga? Yanagi fights Motobe, both of them had weapons.

It's explicitly stated that Motobe went back into the mountains to do intense physical training. He didn't catch up to the main cast, he simply got close enough to overwhelm them with expert weapon usage. That was the whole point of the conversation with Baki in his dojo.

Yujiro wasn't looking at him, and was in a rage because of Motobe repeatedly said he was going to protect him (the last time with a particularly offensive phrasing).

Remember how Musashi provokes the people he's fighting? Motobe is mirroring him, showing us that even the strongest characters can be tricked. They can't be beaten by just a trick, but what about a trick used by a strong opponent? They can be placed at a disadvantage.

By the way, I got bored, so I went back to check up on several more of the things that were horribly mistranslated by Wild Fang. This page is a PRIME example of just blatant lies and making shit up. This is almost irrefutable proof that their "translator" was just Google Translate.

I don't have the raw of this specific page on hand, but I do have another few raws that tell the same story. I will post that next. It was not another familial figure - as some of you anime viewers might know - that saved the Hanayama family. I'll translate the raw pages that I'll post next.

Long story short, Motobe was actually hot shit through all the series but he never even tried, Musashi got resuscitated and since apparently he's the only one who can deal with his bullshit since nobody else but him in the series knows how to use weaponry, he decided to protect everyone from Musashi
