The only mildly entertaining parts are the parts with Saya lusting after Coconuts. Hotaru and her endless candy fetish are only entertaining when she gets lewd and even that has a shelf life. Too much dagashi talk not enough love triangle stuff.

Came here to talk about this exactly. /a/ made this show out to be a love triangle/Hotaru lustfest when the true charm of the show is Hotaru using her candy lust to make her adult friends play childish games with her. Honestly, I'm surprised how most of /a/ aren't catching on to the true message of the show despite hating adulthood so much. I suppose Hotatits are too distracting or they're ignoring it because waifu wars are guaranteed posts.

Thing is, if the show actually included candy we all knew about and were nostalgic about, would it be any better? I don't really think so. The manga and show both just feel like an extended add for different dagashi.

Oh shit dude, right in the childhood. I remember at my middle school, air heads were like currency, you could trade them for pretty much anything.

I also remember having contests with my friends to see who could eat the most warheads.

There isn't a single thing in that picture that doesn't bring back some kind of memory, though a lot of them are vague as fuck because this was the mid 90's and I've smoked a lot of pot since then.

Since I'm a third worlder and Japanese dagashi are quite similar to the candy that most stores used to sell in my country like 20 years ago, I really dig most of the show, the references are quite mainstream too and the girls are cute/sexy. Sadly, the ED is really weird and it creeps me out.

I guess people that watch Game Center CX could appreciate the show a bit, specially the ones that prefer the trips to the main challenge. Hell, I'm kinda interested in going to Japan just to try some sweets that I don't get the chance to import.
