I think what made her so fun was just that fact that she was constantly incredulous of everyone and everything going on, and forcefully took narrative control several times just by saying 'fuck this shit' and doing her own thing instead of fitting neatly into some archetypical scifi plot contrivance.

It's almost hard to watch shows with female leads -or hell, leads in general- that just nod and say 'uhuh' without questioning anything and just stumble along the critical path like they're pulled on an all-too-convenient authorial leash. The whole ridiculous plot of the show felt like it was a consequence of Ange's unique character, and not just 'some cool shit' that every character passively rode along.
