Anonymous, there are all kinds of anime. Action ones, romantic ones, silly ones, and ones for girls and boys of all ages. People are different, they like and do things for different reasons. There's nothing wrong with that.

You don't have to like your neighbor's favorite anime, and you don't have to hate it either. All that matters is that you realize that it's important that you both watch anime. You share a hobby, a bond with someone that's special. Your favorite anime is not my favorite anime, but that's A-OK, because I understand why you like that anime. The problem is that you faggots don't provide any constructive criticism. I don't think Tokyo Ghoul is a masterpiece but it's still good. Yes in a way it's overrated by Fans but they are retarded and their opinions are meaningless. However, that doesn't mean it's garbage because say what you want about disliking it but you cannot tell me it's a bad series. It's a solid series that does things competently. It's not the best but it's still good.

Not at all, there's a huge fucking difference in the inherent meanings of the words and also which series they apply to. Underexposed series can be very overrated, because their small hipster fanbases have nobody to tell them that it does, in fact, suck. And underexposed series often get called underrated, even though they get nothing but praise from anyone who's ever read/seen it. Sometimes overexposed series can be underrated too (eg One Piece being put on the same level of Naruto and Bleach because of comparable popularity despite being significantly better written).

The writing in HxH is so much better than YYH it's not even funny. YYH is fun with good characters, but Togashi actually bothers with character and relationship development and thematic depth in HxH. He isn't influenced by Jump so he can subvert tropes and actually surprise the audience in one of the most cliche ridden genres of manga. It has a better thought out power system and more in depth mechanics when it comes to almost any aspect of the storyline (eg even the voting system for the election arc). I'm not saying he's a genius either, but in comparison to YYH he's obviously taken advantage of his freedom to write more interesting things than he has before.
