New year ARIA thread.
Subs are out, yet noone is talking about it?
I had expected yesterday's thread to survive the night, is this show getting so little attention now?
Akira was especially cute this episode.
Have you worshiped the Queen of Ara~Ara?
Yes. Yes I have.
>Will I miss any important stuff if I skip straight to Avvenire?
Yes, you're going to miss literally the entire series. Avvenire is 3x 15 minutes long OVA episodes that take place after the story is pretty much "over".
Why would you even consider doing this?
And don't rush. Watch like one episode a day. You'll just ruin the experience for yourself otherwise, and the second episode of the OVA series isn't going to be released any time soon so it's not like you're in a rush.
Best out of three
>Avvenire part 2
Umm.... link please?
>tfw Alicia being fucked silly by some fat dude's big cock somewhere offscreen
When Undine rang, I began to mourn as a fucking fag.
I never cried watching and reading Aria before.
We've barely seen them so there's not really much to say about them.
I thought it was coming out with the next blu ray set?
I know this feel, bro. I literally cried in the beginning of this OVA. It was so touching, to see Neo Venezia again.
It still had that magic that made me love the series 8 years ago
Although it surprised me how "toned down" was President Aria, since he had more screentime in the series
>And don't rush. Watch like one episode a day. You'll just ruin the experience for yourself otherwise
Don't listen to this guy. Marathon it.
I've never understood this mindset when it comes to Aria. I've marathoned all three seasons 7 or 8 times including the first time I watched it.
It's like a comfy machine. It's a great way to kill a day.
>see the series before the manga
>find the cat annoying since it feels they're shoving it in my face
>read the manga
>the cat barely has any appearence
To this day, I don't understand what the fuck happened
>Don't listen to this guy. Marathon it.
I agree with you. I never understood this advice either. I think that it's better to marathon it.
When I marathoned Aria the Animation I had the flu and I don't know if it's because of that or just because I did nothing else all day except sleep for a few hours but my brain remembers Aria very clearly, as if I was there, as if it really existed.
Similar sentiments here. I teared up throughout the show, and started drinking alcohol afterwards. Never became that drunk in my life.
I guess its up to personal preference. I marathoned it for my first watch-through, and I really regretted it. Forcefully rushing through a slow-paced anime gives me headaches, which reduces my enjoyment substantially.
The subsequent watch-throughs were done every alternate night, and I find myself enjoying it that way even more. It allows me to soak in the comfy atmosphere of Aria. Currently at my 4th iteration.
Perfect way to start 2016. Undine made me bawl like a little girl, and when Athena started singing, that simply killed me. Too beautiful.
Why are we only getting three 15-min episodes of this masterpice, and then, back to reality with 22-min (and 2 cours) of trash like IBO, harem shit shows and nonsensical yuri or yaoifags?
Is that difficult to make nice things?
Don't listen to these guys
You'll only experience Aria for the first time only once that's why every episode must be savored and experienced at the time you feel most appropriate and with the mood to match.
They are already up on several sites, but not worth bothering with. They look absolutely disgusting because of QTEC.
I'll admit, I choked up and I didn't think I would.
That looks awful, but is there an alternative?
Would it look any better when you'd watch it at the original resolution upscaled by your bd player or computer?
Anon pls, there's even a readme in there that explains everything.
It is possible that the episodes could have a better upscaling job done by a bunch of invested and knowledgeable amateurs but it's unlikely.
It really is unfortunate that Aria comes from a time when film had been abandoned for digital but shows were being mastered in such dreadful resolutions.
Watch it on a CRT.
I hate to admit it, but I was never able to feel even a fraction of what I feel for ARIA for Tamayura. It just felt somehow boring, the characters never entered my heart, and I watch lots of that stuff.
The DVDs look fine fullscreen on a 1080p screen, a CRT won't really do much. Can't remember how good the DVD encodes look, but the playback straight from the DVD looks fine at least. There's not really much more you can get from them, given the way the show was made.
>we'll never have Athena's clumsiness in anything again because the VA is dead
>The reunion and the meta undertones for watchers of the series seeing the characters again.
Shit I teared up like a little girl.
I haven't, but I did go to Venice proper and walk around Castello with the OST.
For some stupid reason, I didn't go on the walkway along the northern wall of the Arsenale like a few other anons who frequent the Aria threads have done...
>I haven't, but I did go to Venice proper and walk around Castello with the OST.
Same - just wandered around Venice with earphones in and the OST on shuffle. Was quite pleasant.
So many damn tourists though - ARIA almost always looks so calm in comparison. It's ridiculously pricey everywhere as well.
I teared up when I heard Athena's song, RIP Eri.
I have her complete discography on my phone and I get to hear her and Aria's soundtrack almost every day and I still get emotional when I hear them.
I really enjoyed tamayura, the soundtrack is just amazing and the scenic route stuff is like porn to me. The characters can be annoying at times, which unfortunately also constitutes a lot of the humor so that's definitely a deal breaker for a lot of people. It didn't bother me much since it is at most some 2 minutes in an episode and the rest is pure cotton clouds.
Also Ayana is leagues better as Potte than Kirino, it's almost worth watching the show only for the sake of the voice actors.
AI IS LOVE
Rest in piece, Kawakami-san and Kawai-san.
It's certainly not very 素敵.
Tfw you won`t see full season 4. Why?
Not him - I'm >>135545786
But I went in November, in the low season. Tourist wise, not really an issue. You had crowds around St. Mark's, Rialto etc. but it wasn't so busy that you had to queue to get in places. You could walk right into the Basilica or the Palazzo Ducale whereas in Summer you'd have to queue for a while.
Price wise, it was slightly inflated but not wallet-kiling summer level. Plus the sooner you got away from St. Mark's/Rialto, the sooner you got to the cheaper, less touristy places.
Summer or Carnevale Venice, I'd recommend avoiding unless you really want to go then or can't go any other time. You still get clear blue skies in the low season, they're just crisp and there may be more water around than usual.
It isn't Neo Venezia, but Venice is definitely a place worth visiting. Find a quiet back alley and vanish from the crowds, and get pleasantly lost.
>Let us set off together
>It's time for our journey
>Now let's row in unison
>Little by little, off into the distance
>Yes, I realized that you were always watching over me
>Even if you are no longer by my side
>I'll never forget this happiness
>You were the one who taught me that
>Let these feeligns resound forevermore
That ED really fucked me up
You won't even get those FEEL if you listen it literally
>Come, let's begin to row together
>Quietly, little by little
>Keep rowing forward
>Yes, I realized that you were
>always watch over me
>Though I can't feel
>your warmth here by my side
>Yes, a happiness
>That's something you've taught me
>I won't forget it
>Now, I'll send these feelings
>into the eternity
Making a poor comparison, Tamayura is a "weaker" Aria, but enjoyable.
It's iyashikei moments aren't as strong as Aria, but since it is more realistic than Aria it really brings some cute and inspiring moments.
>I do wonder if one could filter it to hell and back and get a reasonable 576p version out of it.
You can always blur it to hell and back and hope that it makes the QTEC go away.
Don't have the DVDs around to check how this would stack up against them, alas.
I've seen some shit and this
waifu2x from >>135557858
(Sorry about the sloppy levels tweaking on my end. Pots and kettles, eh?)
Either way, I am displeased. Greatly.
