I don't remember him returning them, but maybe it happens in one of the novels I haven't read. (I only read the ones that hadn't been animated as of last year.)

He probably has them stashed in a drawer somewhere and tries to pretend they don't exist but has to fight the urge to pull them out and fap with them.
