Windy Tales is well respected here, I think. Mostly because of the art, not so much for its story, which meandered a bit too much, after a strong start. Great ending too, but everything in between seemed a bit pointless.

What about Fruits Basket?
Sometimes I think this is THE anime that resembles Aria the most, at least because of its atmosphere and the fact that the MC's are so similar.

I'd say to give this a watch mostly for the animation and the relaxed pacing in the first 60-80% of it's runtime.
