> This week, from the official page for the upcoming anime Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress (also known as Kōtetsujō no Kabaneri), came a lot more details with regards to the whole project. Announced on the site was the cast, staff, expected release date, preview, and a visual. The original anime will be directed by Tetsuro Araki and animated by WIT Studio (known for Attack on Titan). According to the announcements the anime will premiere in April 2016 just in time for the Spring 2016 anime season.
> Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress‘ screenplay is written by Okochi Ichiro, the character designs are done by Haruhiko Mikimoto, the chief animation director is Gangwon Yasuyuki, and the music is composed by Hiroyuki Sawano. The story revolves around humanity escaping and surviving zombie/demonic titan humanoid type creatures called Kabane. Humanity survives only behind various fortresses. The only way to get between these fortresses is by gigantic trains. The visuals and story revolves around Ikoma who is a steam smith on board one of these trains.
>multiple bases for humanity
>emphasis on guns and other weapons
>human sized enemies
>steampunk setting
Looks different enough and also damn good. Thank you based WIT, saving noitaminA once again.

Have you not noticed that every anime depicts Japan with godlike ability to rebuild its infrastructure?
It's going to be better.
