Manami is normal and boring, so seeing that Kyousuke was outgrowing her she exploited a difficult situation for Kyousuke to keep him normal and boring. The start of Oreimo marks the moment that Kyousuke begins to grow out of that float-by mentality once more, driven by his desire to get along with Kirino again, who was an important supporting factor in his eccentric childhood.

Everything Manami did wrong happened before the series even started, and all she does in its duration is squirm in frustration as Kyousuke grows out of her again until she finally snaps and cuts her loses to move on with her life.

The reality is all the "manipulation" she did behind the scenes was just as I said, squirming. She had little to no impact on the decisions made by any of the characters in the series even if she did try.

You're seriously misunderstanding things if you think Manami's hated for what she did during the series, because the worst thing she did was lash out at Kirino at the end and that was merely the death throws of someone who knew she'd lost for good. It's not even fair to hate her for what she did in desperation, but it's easy to hate her for what she did when she was in control.

It doesn't matter how much impact she had (she did not have that much but she certainly influenced Kyousuke for the worse during the first half and probably encouraged Ayase to confess as early as she did), she's shit because of the way she approaches her goals. In the last 3 volumes her only goal is to turn the Kousakas into normal siblings. An anon once said her main 3 motivations are her hatred for Kirino, her wish to protect Kyousuke and her love for him, in that order and that is kinda reasonable.

What she did as a child was as I said not that bad, she was 12 or so and just wanted to be with the guy she loves, who at that time seemed to grow apart from her. She did not know it would lead to Kirino becoming a brocon and to Kyousuke becoming a lazy asshole, though she of course didn't mind the latter as it tied him to her.

I don't see how Manami had much of any influence on Kyousuke in any part of the series except prior to it. With the exception of suggesting that Kyousuke help Kirino make friends, I can't recall any attempts Manami made to separate Kyousuke from Kirino until late in the second half of the series and by then Kyousuke was independent enough to almost completely dismiss Manami's involvement.
Ayase confessed as a result of Kyousuke helping her with the stalker, you're going to have to give me some more information other then Manami and Ayase speaking occasionally to convince me that Manami had anything to do with it.

I don't disagree with her motivations and I've probably listed those three things myself at one time or another. I do disagree with the severity of her holding Kyousuke back to make him better suited for her. She wanted to be with the guy she loves but she didn't want anything to do with what Kyousuke wanted to be. She managed to pull him away from Sakurai when he could've apologized and then she essentially let his confidence remain shattered because it better suited her for him to be lazy. This is pretty much what you said but we don't seem to agree about how horrible her complacency in this matter is.

Oreimo loves working in ironies and perhaps the biggest of the series is the line Manami spoke to Kirino is more applicable to Manami than it was to Kirino. Manami told Kirino that the Kyousuke she loved never existed because Manami wanted to believe that the eccentric super Kyousuke wasn't him because it wasn't desirable to her. By the end we're shown that this aspect of Kyousuke was just delayed by Manami and the Kyousuke Kirino loved was only dormant.

To give a metaphor, is a guy who attempts murder but fails not because he got doubts but because he fucked up and only severely injured his victim really that much better than someone who actually killed someone?
She tried everything she could but failed because it was already too late, Kyousuke was already far too deep in love with Kiribo to abandon her even when being threatened. Manami never knew which effect her few lines after the Sakurai incident would have,
otherwise she would have never said them. She caused Kirino to become a brocon and Kyousuke to see her as family and therefore never even considering her a love interest again (he was in love with her at that time). She was contempt because she was pretty much his only firend and the only one he cared about.
She is shit because of how she reacts when Kyousuke suddenly gets his old motivation back and begins to spend more and more time with Kirino.

Remember when he slept over at her place and she told him how useless he is and how not many girls will be interested in him? That's the first scene that comes to my mind, there are more but I'd have to dig a bit deeper but it's 1 am here and I'm really tired.

That was just the last drop that made her realise her feelings. However I'm pretty sure I remember Manami encouraging her to confess, I think it's either at the end of volume 10 or 11.

And Kyousuke at the end is not the same as in his childhood, he's a combination of the lazy version Manami created and Super Kyousuke, which is beautiful as it was said that he used to be too energetic for his own good and it would eventually lead to something really bad for him.

I don't know if it's the same song but I love the song that plays after Kyousuke rejects Kuroneko and they're all at Kuroneko's home around the table. I think the full version was played during the fireworks date with Kuroneko. Honestly just waiting for the OST for that song.

For the record you should find that scene touching unless the theme of a brother desperately and valiantly defending his sister's right to individuality doesn't move you a single bit. I wouldn't be surprised if the anime cuts a lot of the dialogue and makes it sound like a whiny father-son argument.
