Viz was pretty late this week.
Anyone got the original version of this cover? I somehow doubt it has so few characters.
Huh, I don't know why I expected more.
>Nevada-tan Bane Mode
>Nip School Boy wearing a Gas Mask and armed with Explosives
>3rd Degree Burn Victim Punk in Rags
>Ready to assault some students
Impressive that Burgerland isn't triggered by this yet.
This is the 3rd translation I've read and I still can't quite figure out what Midoriya Boy's line of reasoning is.
- Hey kid, you hero parents died and now you hate everything about this business and focus on quirks
- But you know, I had a friend who doesn't have any quirks and it's tough shit for him
- So, don't keep hating on everything, or you'll hurt yourself
The final point he tries to make is ok enough, but the whole line of reasoning involving "his friend" seems like a textbook case of non-sequitur. May as well have just said "don't be hatin' everything or you'll stay a little asshole who'll also hate himself your whole life".
The argument is more about quirks, he hates all quirks because that's all people seem to think about. On the other hand not having a quirk doesn't make things any better. So he should just accept things as they are.
Think of it this way, he's making comparisons between Kouta's hate off all things quirk and heroes to Midoriya's refusal of the fact that he has no quirk and can't be a hero.
Midoriya suffered from his denial, he doesn't want Kouta to experience the same thing.
Eh? They release simultaneously with Japan.
Stuff you see any earlier than Monday is basically the result of leaks/actual thieves who break the street date.
The only thing they're behind on is tanks, which I hate. I'm not certain why they're behind, they come out in roughly the same amount of time regular volumes come out. The reason could be that they spend time replacing all sound effects with English ones. They do a very good job of it, but if it meant more tanks in a shorter time period I'd prefer no translated SFX. Hell, generally speaking I don't care to have them translated, but whatever.
DANG Viz was on point this week. Things make so much more sense now this chapter.
Yeah, Deku thought Kouta had a problem with people having quirks, and so assumed that that was because Kouta was quirkless and taking his anger about it and his dead parents out on other people.
Wrong assumptions that aren't just for cheap drama or terrible gags? In MY shounen manga? Horikoshi you madman.
I think that Horikoshi is doing this on purpose
Prob to explore that feeling of trying to think of something comforting to say and just falling flat on your face.
He'll prob go more in depth and flesh out what Midoirya was TRYING to say when the time is right.
Good strategy to have the readers thinking of what he means by all the mumbling this chapter
BnHA SMASH No. 8 is out. Tsuyu is a frog. Frogs hibernate. I didn't know what I expected.
Force him to take breaks before he turns into a second Oda!
Ironically, the slime monster this chapter was actually sorta cool. Same with the nun.
I have a feeling that the evil megane's design is based off Tabata's wife, for some reason.
Horikoshi is still young. He can take it. As long as he doesn't injure himself I think he'll be fine.
All I'm gonna say about Black Lover: first chapter is atrocious. Terrible story, full of cliché. But afterwards, while still full of cliché it's pretty entertaining.
Also, I like a good cringe once in a while.
They're going to see the hatred and edge in Kouta and "kidnap" him in order to let him get trained by AfO.
Class A has to chase after them and we get some of class B helping but they get
Eventually Deku confronts Dabi and Kouta and Deku tries to tell Dabi to let Kouta go but then Kouta tells Deku that he's the one who told the villains where the heroes were in the first place
Kouta tells Dabi to let him fight Naruto alone.
Kouta's cursemark gives him an edge against Deku's ninetai- Shadow people OfA thing.
They end up doing this really cool explosion move because of the sheer power of their moves or whatever chuunibyou bs and both get knocked out.
Dabi drags an unconscious Kouta back to Orochimaru and Deku promises Mandalay that he's going to get Kouta back.
He then goes to train for 3 years with Gran Torino.
For sinful reasons, a My Hero Academia live action adaptation is announced and you're in charge of partially saving it by casting the actors. Who do you cast?
Jake Gyllenhall as Deku
Jared Leto as Bakugou
Megan Fox as Ochako
Shia labeouf as Iida
Tom Hardy as Mineta
Emilia Clarke as Momo
Freya Tingley as Tsuyu
James Earl Jones as All Might
Oh my fucking god did you do that too?
I still remember, i was in language class and the teacher was just reading the book for us and then she stopped and called on my for some reason, and me half asleep out of nowhere like: "Please mommy just a bit more."
I wanted to bury myself, it was second year of highschool too.
Thanks, at least this time vizanon didn't do shitty commentary like a autistic shill
As far as I can tell, Kouta is complaining that heroes are just people bragging about their quirks. Deku gave him an example of someone who doesn't have a quirk but wants to be a hero anyway, because heroism is more than just showing off your strength (unless you're Bakugo).
It's not the best argument, but Deku is floundering here.
Deku hasn't developed his talk no jutsu yet. This was actually pretty good on Horikoshi's part, making a pep talk that actually fails because the MC doesn't quite know the right thing to say.
>Better art than BnHA
You fucking what?
I think this bugs me more than anything though, she gave a half explanation about her quirk which does not make any sense. It would have been better if she never said anything. Now we have to wonder how she turns 5 pounds of fat into a 2 ton artillery piece.
>Heroes, Villains, the labels are meaningless. They're just idiots who mindlessly use their Quirks to kill each other.
>I have a friend who wasn't born with a Quirk at all. Yet he still tried his best to become a hero, and he succeeded. Heroes and Villains aren't defined by their "Quirks". Life is more complicated than you think, and if you close your eyes to that, you'll end up getting burned sooner or later.
I'm going to take a wild guess and assume Deku read too much into it, came to the conclusion that Kouta was quirkless and angry about not being able to save his parents (Deku knows what went down; Kouta might've seen his parents die right in front of him), and spoke... "accordingly".
Playing counselor doesn't always work out, eh Deku?
It's Deku's blessing and curse. He can't stop himself doing these things when he comes across one.
If this is the real life he'll probably end up marrying a gold-digging woman who would prey on his goodwill
Lel I know this got deleted, but thanks for the new reaction image.
Somehow not nearly as cute in this translation.
