Depends, berserk for instance is a good type of edge, where Mirai Nikki is a shit type of edge.
i like edgy mangas. but i hate edgy characters for the sake.
There's edgy and then there's edge for the sake of edge
well, i like edgy mangas like terraformars but they're not edgy all the time.
edgy for the sole purpose of being edgy is usually prett bad
Edgy characters always raise the interest to a series
Heres my favorite psycho, damn I miss him
Edgy is not fun, it's the opposite. It's super fucking cheesy and induces cringing. I can understand kids liking it a lot because they're restricted from watching "edgy" shit a lot. But edgy nowadays is just basically kids-service like Coldsteel The Hedgeheg.
Smoothfag go home. Edgelords are the big guys here.
So what does /a/ thing about Tokyo Ghoul's Kaneki Ken becoming the BLACK GOD OF DEATH?
This. I mean, "If you [Some action that isn't the paragon of virtue itself but is the most logical one] you'll be just like him"
Because that's infuriating and also lazy writing because it adds complications and worthless plot threads.
Anything with le edge wide grin (+ shark teeth) and le craaaazy eyes is absolute garbage
The only crazy person in anime that isn't a fucking walking cliche for 13 year olds is Dilandau, although he does still pull le craaazyyyy face
>And that series is fucking horrible
It's not, but it has a fair share of edgy characters.
It really is, you edgy teenager
I've read plenty of trash like that back in my time and can spot a series like that from a mile off. It's nothing new, but of course the young never know it and the cycle begins anew
Edgy is popular with disaffected teenagers who just discovered that some Chinese cartoons and comics are darker than the other cartoons they watched up to then and think that watching those makes them mature.
>you edgy teenager
This is typical post when regarding any new series with blood and gore but since I know the Tokyo Ghoul fanbase is without a doubt cancerous tumblrite edgelords I won't say anything.
Were you one of the people that thought Kaneki was dead?
It's been pretty edgy since Eto showed up. Kaneki is like an edgy Arima, he has black hair and wears all black clothing.
>Were you one of the people that thought Kaneki was dead?
Of course not. The fact that they never showed him being explicitly dead made it obvious that he survived. Which I found stupid, since you'd expect monster hunters to actually finish off the monster instead of just wondering off after it stopped moving.
Yeah, but that doesn't excuse the ending of the first series being so tepid. I just dropped the manga at that point because it wasn't entertaining.
So you have completely no idea what :re is about then. Cause of course Kaneki isn't dead, but Arima didn't leave him behind either.
It's obvious from the foreshadowing that Kuroneki has some sort of
ALTERNATIVE AGENDAright now. It will eventually reach a point where we all think that Kaneki can't possibly get any edgier, then he'll have a moral crisis where he ends up saving both the quinckes and his ghoul investigators/ghoul acquaintances. Before taking on the REAL BADGUIS
screencap this post for posterity
I still think Seidou is edgier than Edgeneki at the moment. he may have the edge look but Seidou still actually eats people's brain while talking about brain jam and pineapples, he wears sandles and all black clothes, has white hair, and black lips/lipstick, with black nails.
I like edgy characters when the author can still put some life into them and delve into their personality.
When they become the ultimate badass and are a walking one-hit-kill machine that never has any sort of turmoil it gets old very quickly. I also like when they get the edgy look.
Edgy means trendy, on the forefront, and stylish. Unfortunately, what was edgy a decade ago isn't what's edgy now, but people have associated that specific period of edginess with the word itself.
Is Miyata edgy?
