Well they're a professional mainstream studio that has done contract work on Hollywood films, major games and award winning American TV shows not some place full of underpaid overburdened animators drawing pretty girl pictures for otaku in Japan so it shouldn't be a surprise. More frames would probably help, but that's not quite it. The animation itself (regardless of FPS) is too rigid, which is a bit weird considering a lot of it is motion capture if I recall correctly (maybe I'm mixing them up with a different studio though). It looks fine with mechanical background stuff / mecha, but it's a bit glaring when characters are animated like that. It'll probably be a while before well animated CG becomes a common thing in TV anime. Etotama did a good job of it, but that bombed because it had awful marketing and nips having shit taste.

Can /a/ read at *all* anymore? It wasn't a swap, it wasn't a retcon, it wasn't anything of the sort. Kei is undergoing a personality transformation. Whether by choice or by nature of "becoming" an Ajin he started to appear to become a complete and total sociopath. Then we see him make contradictory statements and actions, and he can't explain them. He comes up with reasons after he's done it, because he doesn't consciously know why he's compelled to do certain things. He acted polite and calm, of all things, when Sato rescued him with an assault rifle. He didn't know why. He saved the surgeon/doctor's life. He didn't know why, and came up with a reason afterwards. He didn't give that kid he drowned severe brain damage, he kept him in tact and trapped in an overturned truck, yet again lacking an absolute concrete reason.

The entire Forge Security plot was concocted because he's afraid. He felt bad leaving Kai alone in the wilderness without his phone, but psychologically justified abandoning him by saying he didn't need him anymore. Significantly later, he had a dream where Kai came back to rescue him from Sato in a miraculously timed salvation after everyone else has been killed. He refused to be satisfied with catching everyone except Sato, once again, because he is afraid of Sato.

Kei is still very emotional. He's unstable and unsure of who he is. He spent a significant part of his youth believing he had some sort of psychosis because he could see a black ghost occasionally. He was *killed*, revived, rescued by supposed sympathizers, betrayed, brutally tortured and repeatedly killed for ten days(? I forget the number), was forced to betray his rescuers, and now is working with people who could have him put back in the torture room at any point(i.e. people who will betray him the first opportunity they get), because he's afraid of Sato. It's reasonable to think that he's out of his fucking mind and doesn't understand the value of life at this point.

I don't even care that much about whether Hoshijiro wins, I just want her to actually be brought back after all the things pointing in that direction throughout the story. It still pisses me off how she (as in, her clones) was unceremoniously brushed aside halfway through the manga, only to be used as a cheap plot device to bring back Nihei's waifu at the end. Aside from that, most of the story after Benisuzume's defeat was pretty shit, so Polygon stopped at the perfect point to change that.

I guess she might have been just a plot device in the manga. But I still find it strange how many hints at possible plot developments there are throughout the story that never go anywhere. In the end it just took just about the most straightforward path possible. That aside, the anime put quite a bit more focus on Hoshijiro, which is another reason why I hope they make an anime original ending. I also watched the anime first, which is probably why she had more of an impact for me.

Not sure what you're saying. They haven't really wrapped it up yet, aside from a very open ending with some extra scenes for a degree of closure.
