When does NGA get good?

I'm on episode eleven and, although there are some things I enjoy a lot about it, I don't clearly understand the hype about it. I'm not saying it's bad or that you guys are idiots for enjoying it, I'm just wondering if it improves later on or if it's just not for me.

The action sequences are boring to me. This show is nothing compared to Cowboy Bebop so far (in my opinion, I respect the opinion of anyone who disagrees).

After episode 11 or so NGE starts getting dark and deep. In around episode 20 to 26 a lot of plot will be thrown at your face. You'll probably have to read an analysis of it to fully understand it though.
Just don't drop it now. Action scenes are boring compared to other mechas, that's for sure. But the true likeable thing about NGE isn't the action

I finished watching EoE for the FIRST time


I don't know if it's a perfect series, I'm not the type of person to really dig into things for flaws

But holy fuck I enjoyed that a LOT, it's kind of hard for me to find flaws in this series (besides "the main character is whiny" which is a personal issue), and i swear when Third Impact started and Komm, Susser Tod kicked in, i felt the weirdest fucking feeling, euphoric.
