I was thinking a bit, and I realized something. Do you guys think the Berserk Armor will allow Guts to overcome the effects of the Brand? I still don't see how he can come close to killing a being as powerful as the Godhands of course, but that would at least be one small barrier overcome.

Not that it matters. It will be impossible for the ending to not suck. Either it doesn't finish at all because Miura dies before it does at the rate it's going, Griffith "wins", which is just lame and depressing, or Guts "wins" which would require a massive ass-pull.

Once I read berserk and a 2004 manga -name withheld to protect integrity- in different tabs and the other manga seems extremely plain even though it has a decent and exciting story.

And Guts can fight until he loses all his blood, and the berserker armor causes him to lose way more blood than the brand ever did. It's a tradeoff - either be unable to attack because of pain, or attack until you die of bloodloss.

I don't recall the Berserker armor every directly causing him blood loss, just making him ignore wounds that are pretty bad, causing him to fuck himself up even more.

Edgy done right, at least while it lasted. That's more rare than you may think.

Berserk is probably the greatest manga ever penned.
And if properly adapted, one of the best anime as well.

The series is the only long running adventure manga that has a consistent tone throughout, it gives the feeling that despite going on as long as it is that the author has some clear cut idea of where everything is headed compared to it's contemporaries(HunterXHunter,One Piece,Vagabond) that feel completely decidedly different now compared to when they started.

Besides that the art is downright impeccable and the whole thing manages to be dark without ever being edgy, no matter how stupidly insane or gory things are they are always presented in a way that is coherent given the context and see how the characters feel in each situation.

Berserk is a masterpiece read that shit chump.

I'd like to go on record and say it's Japan's Game of Thrones except with scenes that have a shit ton of impact. (Not that GoT doesn't have it's moments it certainly does but Berserk's just insane)
There's many themes in Berserk, religion, wrath, slavery, sex for favors and many more that would just ruin the manga if I went on.

It's one of the only mangas I sat down and completely binged in 2 weeks. I fucking love Berserk.
I just really would wish Miura would stop playing Idolm@asters, go back to bi-weekly updates and just fucking finish the damn thing.

I watched the three Berserk: The Golden Age movie and i honestly was quite amazed at how good that was.
I started reading the manga, but i'm not understanding where he got the sword and where he got the arm. Does it ever get explained?

Also holy shit he's edgy as fuck in the start of the manga. He didn't seem like that at all in the movies, even at the very end.

Friend, if you're at the start of the manga you're at the Black Swordsman arc. The movies you watched started directly with Golden Age and that's right after the Black Swordsman arc. The first arc just exists to draw people in and then the Golden Age is basically just 100 chapters of Guts' backstory.

Just don't skip out on reading the Golden Age Arc just because you watched the movies. There's a lot the movies skipped out or altered.

The movies cut so much from the manga it's insane. Shit like the Devil Dogs and Fireflies chapters which seemed pinnacle are completely cut from the movies for some reason, and that's really REALLY dumb because those scenes are defining in Guts' character building.
I'd say read the entire thing, but if you're really not down to it then I'd say atleast to skip to the 10th volume, in other words to where Guts and crew go to save Griffith

I never mentioned the farming arc at all i don't know why that's what you assumed.

The idea that i was trying to get across is that in comparison to Vagabond where the author draws what he feels(a quote from him not me) and thus every arc feels almost like a new story Miura has such a clear cut idea of what he's wanted from the beginning that from arc to arc it feels as if it's the same story it was twenty years ago, all the other stories i mentioned had to majorly metamorphosis in order to achieve greatness imo.
