There is none. The face that most of Synchro Arc's plot, which was shown in OP3, is taking place NOW just proves that Synchro had to be drawn out, either to appease Director Ono, or because the DM movie soaked up all of the budget. At best, Arc-V will get to run for 175-200 episodes to make up for the lost time; at worst, we will always be bitter about how the best series of YGO was shafted.

GX had Judai, although I prefer the manga.

5Ds had the strongest start then suffered due to sex cult during the Dark Signer arc, along with loads of filler with Yliaster thrown in occasionally. The duels at the end were the best in the entire franchise in my opinion.

Zexal kicks up in the second season and even then it's kind of a hit or miss.

I have mixed feelings about Arc V so far though.

They just gave into the nostagiafags that have been begging for more Adventure since the 02 bullshit. I for one wanted a fresh series with different characters and not a continuation of Adventure. However, Tri isn't so bad as a continuation as it does feel fresh and does more than what the Adventure and 02 did which was give the kids more interactions with one another which was so desperately needed. It shown light on their friendship and their group dynamic. Now if they treat the Digimon more than talking pets I will be very pleased. I hope the Yu-Gi-Oh 2016 movie can develop the characters and show their growth after the course of the series.

It wasn't just "Who got out the strongest monster first wins." it was also "Who drew the biggest bullshit topdeck/got the most advantage through busted S/T." Remember this was a time when monster reborn, Raigeki, Painful Choice, Change of Heart, Harpie's Feather duster, Cyber Jar, and a whole tower of busted cards during DM's run. Even when it was vanilla beatdown bullshit we still had such cards.

The only difference the Extra deck has done is gear to SSing bosses from it as quick as possible with little to no resource lost cause Konami wants the game to be fast pace. That's it.

It's fine to not like some changes or even the extra deck. But don't say the original was so much better when it didn't even a banlist until the game got fucked over hard with the chaos era.
