So I'm three episodes into Owarimono and is anyone else wondering literally why the fuck should araragi care about this dumb Oikura bitch?
Maybe I'm bitching a bit too early, but seriously, this dumb cunt apparently despises araragi because in 7th grade he wasn't able to deus ex her pathetic self out of her little family drama through some fucking non-existence arbitrary call for her during their math sessions.
She also looks like a retarded teenage version of Hachikuji that went through a nuclear fallout that turned her hair white.
Senjougahara really should of just slapped that dumb secondary back to fucking home school then when could of have an entire season focusing of feet shots and bathrooms shower times
Eh, Sodachi being being a dumb bitch is pretty much just her character, but I suggest you stick with it, because either you enjoy the conclusion, or you get through 3 more episodes and you never have to see her again
Araragi has a lethal case of white knight syndrome.
Also, she did quite a bit more than that and her relationship with Ragi is pretty elaborate. He should feel at least somewhat retarded for how many times he forgot the bitch, despite her best efforts to the contrary.
After she played with him for a few nights as a kid he forgot about her.
After she invited him for math study sessions in her house for months he forgot about her.
After they were in class together for a whole semester and she quit school because of a traumatic incident he forgot about her.
He really does not not know what made him.
Araragi cares about her because she is the precious childhood friend he loved but was afraid to think about since he knew he fucked up. Araragi isn't shallow enough to care only about people who are currently nice to him, in fact Sodachi is basically one of the girls who caused the least harm to him so far and also got the least in return (not that Araragi can do much in her situation).
She is also a top cutie.
It's the arc where the final antagonist first appears to Araragi, gives the biggest example yet of what she's doing to him, and shows why Hanekawa actually went abroad when she did.
It's also the usual MC flashback episode before the big conclusion, where the MC remembers his past and what "made him" and accepts all of it.
Not to mention Sodachi is basically becoming a regular since Nisio likes to write about her, even if not about her becoming part of Araragi harem.
All of Owari so far seems to be about Araragi remembering things he wants to avoid thinking about though. But I wonder what were Nisio plans for Owari book 1 before he decided to create Sodachi.
>Shinobu VA forgot how to KAKA
>All this Unnecessary long winded talk last entire episode
>All this CG shit
How do we fix Owarimonogatari? I remember even monogatari second not this bad.
More Sodachi would be a start for me. But from your points maybe cutting 1-2 episodes of Shinobu Mail, higher budget, using old recordings of kaka and only adapting arcs you'd personally enjoy.
Not until a good hatesex doujin is announced, we only got one picture of that so far.
OP is a faggot and this thread sucks. I wish Shinobu had more doujinshi.
>bodies simply vanish into nothing when they decompose without leaving behind bones
Doesn't get any better.
Honestly they're just milking the franchise now, it's a fucking waste of pixels.
Does this shit even have a plot? I think they're just pretending one exists by having the characters talk incessantly and drop little "hints" that don't actually mean anything.
Ougi said someone threw away the corpse with the garbage not that it decomposed, but it makes more sense that it's still there and the house is abandoned as it was already completely filled with trash.
>Does this shit even have a plot? I think they're just pretending one exists by having the characters talk incessantly and drop little "hints" that don't actually mean anything.
Monogatari isn't even particularly long for LN standards, it's just that it's fully adapted. Owari 1 is a book about the main characters past and motivations and the proper introduction of the villain, and Owari 2 basically fills a hole in the story about what he was doing during Tsubasa Tiger.
Off-season is probably milking, but at this point Nisio writes one book in a whole year and people can buy if they want to see side stories with the characters.
The fact that we even have a final boss that's very relevant to the MC is comforting. I don't mind side stories honestly, they're side stories for a reason and they only matter if you're invested in the respective characters anyway.
It's retarded on a realistic perspective, but it's also kind of standard Nisio stuff when characters have extreme traits creating bizarre situations. Zaregoto in particular with everyone being geniuses, and Li-chan being involved, this would be considered tame, and Sodachi is one of the most insane characters in Monogatari.
This isn't even a locked room mystery. Its obvious from the moment she told the story that the mom died in the room. The only real question is whether or not Sodachi killed her.
There was never a mystery. The watchers should have seen it instantly. That's why Ougi got it so fast, the answer was obvious. And then Hanekawa shames the audience by admonishing how easily they got the answer because of how terrible it is.
Complaining about stuff like that just shows an unfamiliarity with the type of fiction it is. The point isn't for the author to be smart or do it realistically. It's just a basic type of game played with fiction where the audience is supposed to have a good chance of seeing the solution coming. And the real point is stuff like whether Araragi would tell Oikura.
What the fuck? The author wasn't even trying to be smart. Both Araragi and Hanekawa knew the answers regarding the body since the start. Ougi was there just to proof how much of a liar Araragi actually is.
They only said it decomposed to the point that Oikura wouldn't think of it as a person anymore. If she acknowledged as a corpse it would mean she wasn't on denial anymore, so she dissociated from that possibility and what else smells terrible? Garbage.
I'm quite familiar with characters driven fiction, and the focus being how the characters would react rather than the events themselves doesn't excuse this kind of poorly thought plot.
And no, the audience doesn't have a good chance of seeing the solution coming, since it makes no sense.
More? There's plenty.
Hell I still spank to Sorry I Over Did It
>The mistery was what happened to the body.
Its obvious she just got rid of it. I assumed it didn't even decompose. At first I thought she just murdered her mom, trashed the body, then blocked it out. Oikuras fucking crazy.
The clues Nisio gave:
The windows to her mother's room were boarded up.
The room was dark.
The mother would spend her time curled in a corner.
She hardly ate.
At some point she stopped muttering.
The only way in or out was the door.
It had been locked when Sodachi opened it and noticed her mother was gone.
If the mother had left the room she must have found where Sodachi had left the key and locked it from the outside before disappearing.
There's no real reason for her to have bothered to do that.
The home was full of trash, so bad that Sodachi thought it better to move rather than try to clear it out.
If you couldn't see what those clues were pointing to then you aren't familiar with this sort of mystery writing and how you're supposed to use the clues, because it's a really easy one.
Ougi just guessed and they didn't seem to care much about this part to investigate deeper and Sodachi didn't give direct hints either as she obviously didn't care in the episode before about "random garbage". What happened to the corpse was technically left as an open point, and it might as well still be there.
It doesn't seem likely that everything was left untouched since then, especially with the mother disappearing, and that is the only way the body would have been left unfound.
The plot was just weak.
I guess that's probably why Ougi says it probably was thrown out, changing that social service form would likely require a police report which would then investigate their home.
But at the same way, there could very well have been an investigation, and it wouldn't be weird for Sodachi to deny it's existence as well if she can live with a corpse for 2 years. She is too much of an unreliable narrator, and it doesn't help that there is also an unreliable detective.
what is her expression trying to convey?
when is the loli sodachi prequel getting translated?
Is it a slice of life about a girl being beaten every day and told that she is at fault for ruining her family, occasionally running away to study math on a public library?
Or about a girl living in a house full of "garbage", vomiting whenever she approach her mother's room because of the smell without understanding why and compulsively taking multiple baths and always cleaning clothes to try to remove the smell, besides having to do all chores, dealing with social services and studying the rest of the time?
Because she's suspicious of Ougi and Ougi introduce herself as Oshino's niece, she went to see if she could find Oshino. She told Araragi she was going around the world, but she was probably searching Japan to begin with.
maybe you should watch more than 3 episodes? Maybe the whole arc? Just a suggestion though.
Also as you might've noticed, Oikura is not necessarily the most mentally stable and composed person, so in her mind she has all the right to hate Arararagi for not saving her imo
HorribleSubs is a fucking joke. Why is no one but commie subbing one of the most popular series? What the fuck happened to fansubbing?
Those errors are basically lack of spell checking and proofreading, the bigger issues are actual mistranslations that I will probably never know.
Her pettiness is just another facet of human nature that Nisio likes to talk about. People need to blame others or they can't survive because the burden of having all the responsibility crushes them. Just like how all the other girls Araragi saves had their own petty problems. If you're not watching Monogatari for philo-bullshit and lectures, I don't know why you're watching.
Ouka is also interesting because she destroys the concept that AraAragi is a perfect white knight that can save everyone. Araragi literally could not fathom that Ouka was getting beat and her house was getting destroyed by an abusive father because he has such a twisted idea of people being good. In Ouka's particular case, she was not saved because of Araragi's personality unlike the other girls. It's a pretty interesting concept.
But yes, Ouka was and I didn't give two shits about her angst.
Yeah this is the worst. I'm comparing HS and commie right now and the conversation between araragi and monkey is almost completely different between the two. I don't understand why this is allowed.
> So I'm three episodes into Owarimono and is anyone else wondering literally why the fuck should araragi care about this dumb Oikura bitch?
Those episodes were a complete waste of time, besides the Ougi moments.
>Ouka is also interesting because she destroys the concept that AraAragi is a perfect white knight that can save everyone
Bake and Second season destroys that way before Owari vol 1 came around. Fucking idiot.
Can someone who actually knows how to into moon please tell me which one of these is correct/less shitty.
>Those episodes were a complete waste of time, besides the Ougi moments.
so they were basically not a waste of time? Ougi was on screen for almost the entirety of the first 3 episodes
Wrong thread, but katanagatari is 11/10 so if you don't like it, don't come back.
>In Ouka's particular case, she was not saved because of Araragi's personality unlike the other girls. It's a pretty interesting concept.
None of the girls save Shinobu was saved by Araragi's personality, his involvement usually either makes things worse or exacerbates the problem.
And even with Shinobu, she admits to being dependent on his kindness.
They're two different approaches to translating word play. Trying to translate literally and just putting the Japanese words in brackets vs trying to find some vaguely similar word play in English. The former seems not funny and hard to make sense of. The latter makes people complain about translators inserting their own jokes.
Why the fuck are there so many typos in this episode. Is there absolutely no proof reading done?
Monkey was literally right.
You really are dumb.
It is obvious that Nisio likes the character, he just didn't write Monogatari as some shit chuuni wish fulfillment crap. Araragi does quite a lot of good (mostly without it being based on applying violence or being about looking cool), and he comes out rewarded for it. He also has some flaws, faces some set backs and can't help everyone.
LITERALLY WHAT THE FUCK. I understand a typo, maybe two, per episode but this is insane, and I don't recall any other episodes ever being nearly this bad.
They aren't usually this bad.
When was she ever not right? Kanbaru's being right ratio is much better than pretty much everyone else in the series.
The only time she could conceivably be incorrect is her chimping out and attacking Araragi but given that was just as planned by Tooe, it's not really Kanbaru being wrong but Tooe having a fucked up sense of what it means to help someone.
The entire Rainy Devil business was pretty much something Tooe knew would happen ahead of time.
She knew Kanbaru was so weak she would rely on the arm, chimp out and have to confront the fact she's weak and either overcome that weakness through her own strength or stay a Rainy Devil.
Kanbaru has mastered the art of not having an opinion about something she doesn't know anything about.
It comes from years of being completely insecure about yourself and thinking your opinion is worthless.
Her standing up to bat is actually pretty big.
I prefer the criminally sexy hips in this one.
It's good again now after all that infodump is over, and it still has the chance for a great conclusion for itself.
There is no Sodachi in all but one of my top 3 book adaptations so far, so it's no excuse.
>Araragi quite effectively puts a death blow against first in the duel to be the winner
Well we did invent it, so it's only fair.
Reminder that if you started watching anime non-casually only this year you should stop posting and lurk more because you are a filthy newshit and your opinion is irrelevant.
I've been casually jerking-off to anime for almost a decade, does that count for something?
>stop posting and lurk more because you are a filthy newshit
this isnt a special club you fuckin dimwitted manchild
>Kissshot asks for fun interesting tale
>Araragi starts talking about that Rika shit
I want to just let it pass by as usually as him being awkward in socializing, but that is really fucked up as that's what Araragi goes to. Wonder what was going through her head as he was telling it.
More bloody okojo goodness. When will he do a monkey doujin?
Is it my impression or, does Owari uses more random-nonsense-"bigwords"-talking than the other prequels?
Seriously, it's not even that I don't get what's going on, its just that.... is all that 80% talking REALLY needed just to make a point? I almost killed myself listening to Gaen.
Yes, I know that's what the Monogatari series are all famous for in the end.
The books are different enough that it's possible to have completely different preferences over which is better depending on your tastes. It's one of my favorites too.
WHAT WAS IN THE ENVELOPE?
I WANT TO KNOW!!!
They have written stuff in them on far away shot. Those are probably math problems, maybe stuff she corrected from shota araragi.
shit. Guess we'll never know.
fixed Sodachi from zokuowarias control sample to see if being hot is an inherent property of Sodachi or it's because she is damaged.
Shouldn't even have picked it if you don't like haircuts.
I watched the whole sodachi arc and dropped this shit. I guess it's not for me but I cannot fucking stand the way the characters drone ON AND ON about inane bullshit, literally nothing happens in this show holy shit
Oikura's face when you surprise her with a love confession.
I hope you like math and talking about math then.
>a betamax that was okay dying for a vampire girl
>ended up being her bitch
>got a girlfriend because she aggressively pursued him after he solved her issues with the help of a friend
>all the other girls love him but he doesn't seem to care beyond molesting them
When Araragi asked the first servant if he wanted to go back to being human, he was referring to the fact that servants can revert back to humans if they kill their masters as mentioned in Kizu.
Monkey loves him in a platonic but also sexual way.
Explain that, anon.
Not him but didn't hana already covered it? She deep down still hates him and in her insecurity she keeps asking him sexual things without meaning it and partially because she still wants Senjougahara to break up with him. I don't pay much attention to monkey and monkey discussion so it might be wrong.
>open mouth kissing your brother
>enjoy getting molested by him
>not knowing the lyrics to happy bite
Don't be dense anon.
Besides, she was really playing up the ara in zoku.
>I don't pay much attention to monkey and monkey discussion so it might be wrong
That's fucking terrible anon. Monkey has been the best thing to happen to this season.
She does still hate him but that doesn't stop her from admiring him. In fact that's a good chunk of the reason as to why she hates him. She jokes around about wanting to sex him but it's just masking her real desires to actually bang him.
She is Araragi's adopted sister in mirror world
More than half of the book is about the direct sequel to Sodachi Lost with her trying to fit in her new school
Pic is from Zokuowari.
And fuck you for hurting Sodachi.
I don't think anyone 'suspects' it Araragi, it's a well known fact. You went bonkers over seeing the loli version of your goddess, and in that ten years ago past world, the first thought on your mind was buying then semi-legal underage porn.
You ARE a lolicon.
>not open mouth kissing your siblings
There's been an updated height chart list since Otori. Has this been posted before? I didn't know we had official heights for Ougi and Gaen.
They're both 4'11".
It's pretty decent. Lost feels like a poor man's Hana that spoonfeeds you most of the story via Hanekawa and Ougi, but Mail has some nice interacting themes going on and is attempting to address one of the biggest plot points to Araragi and Shinobu's character. It's pretty serious compared to most of the series overall, so those looking for the lighthearted Monogatari might not enjoy it as much as others.
Overall I'd say this season is a little better than SS, but not quite as good as Bake, Nise, or Hana.
She was in Tsuki this year. I miss her too, but come on.
So I havent watched this season/series yet
Is there anything that requires waiting for the blu-ray release? Fanservice, Gore, etc?
The last few seasons didn't really have a lot of the latter it was mainly the first 2 which had araragi getting the shit kicked out of him, but they kept the fanservice, I can get past that being censored but I don't wanna see araragi get mutilated or something like that and be stuck looking at a completely blacked out screen, that just drives me nuts.
No, it's basically just exposition and abstract backgrounds. But it's the end of the season so there's not much point catching up now.
>People need to pay for this shit
I know none of us actually pay for this, but it's those fuckers' jobs. They're professionals, and should fucking act like it.
>Mfw im taller than everyone there
Also, i remember Karen looking a lot taller compared to Arararagi
Might just be his Ahoge thats making it look like that though
Also, why is there no Kaiki and Kagenui on there?
>not realizing those are spats, the ultimate reverse zr
When it comes to demons, I just beat the hell out of them.
She does that repeatedly though. Basically she communicates through logic problems instead of directly telling something, including the class trial, which at some point she realized it was the teacher and never said to anyone, and her mom which she never "knew" but was happy that people can change and Araragi could finally answer correctly to her. Each one had it's own set of reasons though.
Episode is a manlet though and it's alright for a girl to be short.
Though given Episode is only six years old. By six year old standards, he's god-tier height.
Oshino really needed to get his predictive skills to be better.
Gaen managed to sort out Araragi's and Shinobu's issues with just a single person.
Oshino is like "Fuck it, I'm sure this suicidal guy will always make the right decisions and not fuck up in any way. I'll even give him a nuclear bomb loli as insurance"
>The original occupant of this room, that foolish aloha-man Oshino Meme was also someone who could have easily fought like Kagenui had just now.
>He had just chosen not to.
>But he certainly could have.
>Even Shinobu in her prime had to respect Oshino. Whether it was her, the snail, the monkey, or the snake, Oshino could have easily dispatched any one of them merely on impulse. Honestly, the only demon Oshino might have had trouble with was that cat in the case of Hanekawa.
I wonder if Oshino spent all his time at the Eikou Cram School just doing weights and exercise to kill the time?
Also Kagenui's comment about only killing immortals because she's too strong really cements her as the best exorcist.
Reading shuojo manga and/or BL novels is all you need to be an expert on the matter.
Whenever referring to her in her complete form or in her past he does. Just this arc they referred to her during that time as Kissshot, and I'm pretty sure in Kabuki they referred to the berserk Shinobu as Kissshot as well.
The name "Shinobu" pretty much explicitly refers to her weakened self, and she mentioned in Nise that it's a form of seal.
That's a bit lackluster on his behalf to leave it to Gaen.
I would think he would want less to do with her than anyone else.
Nah man. Araragi here is referring to Kiss-shot. He's pointing out that as a specialist, Oshino is worthy of respect.
Shinobu has the same level of respect for Yozuru as a specialist.
Yes, he was even shorter when he was a shota.
>Kissshot is back to way it was
>She starts doing thing to him he did to her in loli form
>He gets nervous and self conscious
Always a chuckle when he starts getting that point when around Kissshot. Wish there was more such as that, but doubt Nisio will write it. Hell be a miracle to pull a teen Shinobu.
Maybe it is time to summon Daiz and sell my soul for more of that age.
>The former seems not funny and hard to make sense of
It sounds exactly the same, but means two different things because its written with different Kanji. What's so hard to understand about that?
>Watching chinese fairytales "non casuallly"
are you serious nigger
I'll let music and film elitists slide because they're well established mediums but your nip cartoons aren't sophisticated enough to warrant that kind of devotion
you don't see /co/ being massive fuckwads about their cartoons, what makes you special
/co/ has tumblr recco threads and reddit links. People also get banned for saying Nigger. God damn I am only replying to you because I get the irrational hatred when I see /co/ in any post. Fuck those /com/blr cunts.
I wish Nisio did more vamp stuff with Araragi. Damn it Nisio, damn his humanity.
If you know it's bait. you really shouldn't take it.
In the way ironic shitposting is still shitposting, deliberately taking the bait is still taking the bait.
This just makes me want to cuddle the tiny onee-san even more.
Watching Monogatari is like The Shawshank Redemption, only with more tunneling through shit, and no fucking redemption.
I'd tunnel through her shit, if you know what I mean.
He was going to do that anyway, and Hanekawa pretty much wanted a firm answer. She can take it, and wanted a clear distinction to move on from, as she said, she knew his feelings already. He kind of stepped over the line joking about letting her stay in his room and becoming her bed so soon after a rejection.
Loved that Tsukihi called her brother an idiot that should die when she saw the rejection scene in the commentary. Made the pain a little better.
I'm sure if Tsukihi saw this arc on top of that scene, she would take an awl to her onii-chan's balls. Dude is pretty much a two timer, but gets let's off pretty easy.
The reason why she knows it all isn't clairvoyance, it's a detailed network, and the fact she eliminates things that don't follow 'the plan'. They go over this later on. They even compare Hanekawa and her and it's stated Cat is more the genuine article because she is humble about where her knowledge falls short.
Because I feel like gaen is more likeable than kagenui, and they are both specialists who went to college together.
She didn't really seem insufferable during the current arch, she didn't really rub it in or anything. I think she only acted like that towards cat if I remember correctly.
>She didn't really seem insufferable during the current arch, she didn't really rub it in or anything. I think she only acted like that towards cat if I remember correctly.
She doesn't insult people directly, but she acts in a patronizing way, it's not hard to see it. It's why Araragi gets annoyed when she says her catchphrase, but when Tsubasa does it he is all smiles.
It's like how you can have two people who give to charity, but one exudes an aura of doing it to gain popularity, and the other does it because they want to make people happy.
I can't hate someone with Marina Inoue's voice.
It's hard to separate her character from what's damage from abuse, self-harm and math since it's basically her whole life since she was born. Zokuowari will probably help with her characterization outside of her past.
It's more likely that Araragi is influencing hers, because she's the oddity and the one who receives feedback from him.
That said she's also his reason for living so there's no way she doesn't influence him in the traditional sense.
Araragi wasn't even a lolicon in Kizu to the point that it was never even mentioned in the entire novel. He sort of was in Bake and then he went full pedo in Nise and SS, so i'd say Shinobu does have an influence in him.
>tfw shorter than kiss shot
WOMEN AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE TALLER THAN MEN DAMN IT
>tfw same height or cm taller than kissu shot
Well it's hard to say when nothing explicit is said. He could have been a lolicon all along and it just wasn't obvious- similar situation with his sister complex. It could also have been that his inner lolicon was awakened by interacting with Shinobu and Hachikuji.
I'm actually pretty sure he's more smitten with Shinobu's adult self than her loli form.
Damn anon that's pretty aggressive,
though I'd probably do the same.
>tfw you won't get inside snuggle under that baggy shirt
>tfw you won't do all sorts of things of lewd things to that body while she can only feel and not see what you're doing
I would a Gaen
>tfw she wants you to take responsibility
Why does Gaen make me diamonds? I can just listen to her all day as she feels all smug with her knowledge.
Of course she is, one is a girl in the depths of despair talking to the person she hates the most and the other is a happy imouto with her non blood related onii-chan.
Ougi is nothing to be afraid of
Oikura has been a self righteous bitch since Ougi Formula, some people like OP hate her and some people like me like her. That probably won't change. I just want her to eventually drop her scrunchies and let her beautiful long silver hair out instead of cutting it short.
Still waiting on those hate sex doujins
And I'm waiting for healing sex doujin.
and I'M waiting for masturbation doujin
There is a solution, a harder punch.
She doesn't want to achieve happiness by sucking up to other people in the first place, even though she tried exactly that with Araragi.
And I'm waiting for the dick sleeving doujin
anime budget x movie 5 years in production and split in 3 parts
When will Nadeko publish her first manga?
>I just want her to eventually drop her scrunchies
W-what are you talking about? Nadeko doesn't do things like that.
I want Ougi to put her sleeves close to my erect dick.
Then, I want her sleeves to slowly descend over my erect manhood so that I can feel her soft, pale hand stroke my dick as I ejaculate all over the insides of her sleeves.
I don't want to see her hands though.
Nisio can't wait to give her a character development, and twintails are the extreme opposite of mature. I'm compromising with an adult feminine look, instead of another one looking like a boy.
He did a snake one that's never been scanned
Who is the blonde guy? I don't remember him at all.
>araragi still wearing a girly hoodie
Alright thanks. Made the mistake of watching with it all with Noobsubs when i watched it the first time so i'd rather make sure i get the good subs this time around
