Will the show flop or not?
I don't think it will flop but I also don't think it'll be that popular. Fans of the games will watch it, and probably people that couldn't be bothered to play the games but were interested in the 'plot' will give it a shot.
I'm pretty interested in it myself. I wonder if they will adapt from the games or from the manga - or both.
Yeah I wouldn't mind that at all actually, hearing the original names vocally would be jarring though, and the group would have to be capable of thinking up good names for any potential new characters
Except the amount of cases in the games is the same as the ones in his entire career.
Making him take cases between games would clash with the official case count since Phoenix repeatedly assures you during the games that he hasn't taken literally even a single case that isn't the ones you play.
The live action movie was decent so it can definitely work in non-game format. All depends on how well the cases are written.
Not that guy but a. the first GK was hardly appalling, just a bit underwhelming, and GK 2 was actually before DD so it's not really indicative of anything
Again though I'm not the guy you're replying to and I actually really liked DD. Had it not been expected to follow up on a bunch of plot points that AJ set up it would've been seen a lot more favorably by most people, I think. They really shouldn't have called it AA5 but kept it as a side game.
Underwhelming is GK at its best, when it's not trying, the game is just an uninspired chore full of crap characters.
>GK 2 was actually before DD so it's not really indicative of anything
Irrelevant, the point here is that they proved they can make something quality after something low quality. It's not a simple downhill ride.
GS was good, GS2 was not as good, GS3 was good again, GS4 was not so good, GK was lame, GK2 was good, GS5 was not as good, etc
>not the original Objection theme
Though Trials and Tribulations Objection is fucking cash, too.
>mfw Turnabout Sisters 2016
Can't wait. I'm a bit worried about how no studio has been announced at this point though.
Muh nigga. I actually prefer the Jazz Soul cover by just a bit to be honest senpai.
There's an accordion version too apparently.
This and Godot's theme are the tracks that induce the most feels for me.
Why are the witch trials versions so good?
Shut up and eat your hamburgers.
They're going to cop out on the art and will probably have tons of QUALITY moments.
I'll expect something on par with the Persona 4 Animation. It will be fun for fans, give us some more epic reaction images and entertain newcomers.
You seem to be mistaking the best with the worst pursuit theme in the franchise.
It someone makes a square wave sound bad. That is an incredible feat within itself. Along with the fact that it's a cacophony that has no proper build up either. AA:I2's theme is pure garbage tier along with JFA.
It's the closest thing to a Investigations anime so I'll take it
>mfw we'll not see Kristoph
I mean I'm ok with it if they fuck it up but hell, this moment in particular would've been amazing no matter what.
Zak had hired him and Kristoph had prepared a perfect defense because it was an important trial, but then Gramacunt decided to hire Phoenix instead after a game of poker.
After that, Kristoph's raging autism kicked in, and... Well everything that lead to AJ happened
yes, Kristoph has to be one of the most sensitive and autistic fucks of the series for his motives, but damn he was an amazing villain.
>that moment when Vera collapses
>Zak had hired him and Kristoph had prepared a perfect defense because it was an important trial, but then Gramacunt decided to hire Phoenix instead after a game of poker.
See I actually remembered that but that was literally all it was?
>that moment when Vera collapses
Yeah I was pretty taken aback. I liked how easy it was to view the good and bad end in this game too.
I personally didn't like how it doesn't make sense for one ending to have Vera dying (incidentally the bad one) while in the good one she manages to somehow survive to the deadly as shit poison.
also yes, that's all it was. Kristoph is one touchy motherfucker.
Nah I liked it. I mean looking at it from our perspective it's like your choice made a difference on whether she lived or died so I can see why you thought it was silly. But in the context of the story either end fit well because that was the ending and there was never the "what if" that you the player picked.
just look for that Zak Gramayre is an asshole comic if you want to understand his motive better.
> sup dude, gotta ditch you because muh poker games
> sup other dude I just hired, I'll leave the trial midways and do fucking nothing to help clear your name
It's the only thing AJ did right along with badass Phoenix
True enough, there's nothing like that first time.
I did just replay it a week ago, though, and still had a lot of fun doing so. It's only natural, really, for such a 10/10 game to be so replayable.
These niggas don't even know despair
Slow melancholy songs are the best
Hope he goes around showing his badge to everyone
It's not like you have much choice, there aren't many AA doujins
I love it when the cool and composed villain just looses his shit
The ToA anime was ok, it was just ToA without all the filler.
This. With DD and AA6 they're pandering to the old Phoenix-loving crowd and what better way to do it than finally make an anime focusing on the trilogy stuff that's timed just before "MAYA FEY IS TOTALLY GONNA RETURN IN THIS ONE" the game.
>you'll never play Let's raise hamsters
I'll be honest, I feel kind of sorry for Kristoph. I know he's evil as shit but I still admire him for being such a devious and twisted son of a bitch. Also he made it possible for some epic moments to occur.
>that fucking moment when this happens
at first I thought you were serious, but after I read that title I knew you were baiting
I definitely don't feel sorry for him, but I find his whole beef and weird friendly relationship of mutual hatred with Phoenix interesting.
The worst games at least have the best OSTs.
Depends on how much effort they put on it. They should also put some original scenes in the mix, I don't see people paying the Japanese BD prices for something you can experience elsewhere for cheap.
Phoenix got shafted in the Layton crossover. Not even during the trial sections the game stopped shoving Layton knowing all and saving Phoenix's ass, not even when he was the own victim.
Well it was made by the Layton team. Layton fans knew what they were going to get, AA fans had it shittiest. Pretty much the only people who truly enjoyed it were fans of both series, most people just found the other part dull.
I really liked the game.
Could we even go for both?
It's not like I didn't like the game, the part with Phoenix and Luke was good. My problem is that not only he gets belittled during the trials, but at the end of the game he is told that they weren't needed, they just happened to be there, while Layton was a necessary part of the plan.
I felt really bad about him, he gets bullied in his own game but they go really far there.
In other things, that gimmick with the villagers emotions was underdeveloped. It could have been more interesting if they didn't scream when noticing a contradicting fact.
Like I said, it was game by Layton team. It could've been it's own Layton game altogether, but Capcom wanted Phoenix in. You could really see how he was just an afterthought in the game.
>You could really see how he was just an afterthought in the game
>entire courtroom sequences
>that part where Layton was turned into solid gold and Phoenix had to figure out why
Which case is the
worstcase? Apollo Justice is not cannon
It's not impossible for a studio to work on two shows at the same time (or at the least release two shows it worked on in the same season). For example, in this season, Bones released Noragami and ConRevo. Spring season had Kekkai Sensen and Show By Rock!!. Summer was only Akagai no Shirayuki-hime (and its second cours will be the upcoming Winter 2015/2016 season).
Spring 2016 could still be Bones, even if they're going to release ConRevo 2nd season/cours. Although since they're also working on My Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100, and most likely Show By Rock!! season 2, plus perhaps a new season of Psycho Pass (or was that refuted?), they really look extremely busy.
Other studios are a possibility.
>Apollo Justice is not cannon
Gross. Anyway, 1-2. Redd White was really entertaining but the case felt really bare-bones, which is sort of understandable but Redd White was built up to be really powerful and he cracked way too easily. The way you defeat him is also bullshit.
It's still okay, though.
I thought DD was fine. The transition to 3D went well.
