Are there any other openings with as pure HYPE as this?
it was a fun ride.
This show was presented really well for what it ultimately ended up being.

Just watched it, was indeed a fun ride. My only regret now is not watching it with /a/.

Best OP this season
>>134463812
While I love both Angela and Fafner, this OP probably would look pretty lucklaster to people who don't watch it because they don't understand the emotional significance and callbacks to Shangri-la.
>>134463276
I don't even know why you would watch it without /a/. What redeeming qualities did it have?
>>134463906
It's good
>>134463812
Still not as good as Shangri-la.

don't know about that anon, but the over the top edginess of eruerufu made the entire show watchable to me

Would have to agree with that. As a fan, it's the best OP in recent memory, but for any random passerby the flashback shots must be confusing.
But you can never go wrong with Angela.
Ushio To Tora's OP is pretty fucking hype in an old-school way

Indeed, I'm still disappointed she wasn't singing for K again. She usually sticks with a series all the way.

Anon, pls.
A trainwreck is a trainwreck, whether you're watching it with /a/ or not.
And for all intents and purposes, Valvrave was a pretty 10/10 trainwreck.
>>134464442Is K worth watching? It gets mentioned in Fafner discussion once in a while thanks to that Angela connection.
>>134464717
First season was mediocre to ok, didn't bother watching the second one
Code Geass R2 OP2 was pretty okay. I liked how it used violins.
>>134464603
Valvrave was an enjoyable trainwreck, indeed.
I'm going to watch this now, better not be shit like when /a/ said Another was a good comedy.
>>134464867
Just rewatch Code Geass. People liking Valvrave is a forced meme by /m/ shitposters.
>>134464867
But Another was a good comedy.
It was an absolutely awful horror, but relatively decent as a comedy.

Why on earth would i do such a thing?

Nah bruh that shit was totally not amusing at all.

Either of the SnK OP's.
>>134465099
Because it's a better alternative to watching Valvrave.
Code Geass, Cross Ange, and even Star Driver do anything that Valvrave tries to do better.
Star Driver does "flashy high school adventures with a secret organization and incoherent plot" better.
Cross Ange does "shock value train wreck" better.
Code Geass does both of those things better as well.
If you've got any sense of taste you won't like Valvrave.
>>134465517
>Cross Ange does "shock value train wreck" better.
>>134465209
Good OPs, EDs count as good presentation in my book.
>>134464867
Be sure to be under the influence of a substance of some sort. I can't advise anyone watch this without /a/ otherwise.
>>134465517
>Cross Ange does "shock value train wreck" better.
Did we watch the same CA? If anything, CA did the "not taking itself so serious" better.
>>134464936
>People liking Valvrave is a forced meme by /m/ shitposters.
Valvrager stop false flagging.
>>134465517
>Star Driver does "flashy high school adventures with a secret organization and incoherent plot" better.
I'd say it was more different than better. I'm not sure you can really compare the two shows,
>>134465517
>cross ange doing anything better
>star driver being anything more than a "what the fuck am I watching" GINGA BISHOUNEN
Valvrave had something major happening every single episode. Both Star Driver and Cross Ange had very easy to drop mid-points where there was absolutely nothing happening.
>>134465836
>Had something major happen every single episode
No, because something major can't happen every single episode. Major stuff can only occur if there's down time.
I get that you like trash, but at least acknowledge it's an inferior product
>>134466586
Geass>Valvrave>>>>>>>>Cross Ange>GINGA BISHOUNEN
If you disagree, you clearly either don't understand how trainwrecks work, or you fucked up and waited for a series to be over to marathon it.
And let's be real here.
Valvrave killed every single "good" character, while letting every single awful character live.
That alone cements its place as a high tier trainwreck.
>>134466586
Anon, just acknowledge that fun things are fun.
>>134466586
He says while posting Cross Ange as "superior" product
>>134466766
No.
Cross Ange had NTRman and all the shenanigans that brought.
Valvrave wasted far too much time on Haruto and L-Elf.
Ya'll just trying to justify liking Valvrave.
>>134466766
Geass is a good example of group-watching ruining the perception of a show.
Being over the top does not = trainwreck.
>>134466878
I don't think anyone even considers geass to be a total trainwreck til around 1/3-1/2 into R2, before that it was just over the top nonsense while trying to take itself seriously.
Valv had potential to be decent but it dropped the ball within 6 episodes and never recovered, woulda been infinitely better if jingle bells and coffee had been removed and it was the edgy adventures of elf
>>134466856
Eru erufu was fun, so you can't really call it wasted time.
>>134467053
L-Elf was boring. Everyone reacting to L-Elf was the fun stuff.
>>134466878
Which is honestly why it's actually held up as better than the rest of the so-called "train wreck" genre. It more or less also started the whole thing anyway, so it's worth including.
>>134466856
Cross Ange had a few very small "good" parts, but had too many episodes for its own good and got really fucking boring mid-way through.
I actually can't remember if there was anyone important to die after the first few episodes, because it just didn't have the fucking impact.
I mean shit, I'd place Guilty Crown as being an overall better show than Cross Ange, and I literally could not remember the name without looking through old season listings.
>>134467052
>woulda been infinitely better if jingle bells and coffee had been removed and it was the edgy adventures of elf
Jingle bells still being alive is what kept it going.
Not because she was an essential or great character.
But because you wanted(and expected) her to die.
And then not only did she not die, I'm sure anyone you remotely cared about did.
It's a fucking hateboner show. And it was great at it.
>>134467142
Fair enough. L-Elf + /a/ was fun.
>>134467252
I guess, for me i went in expecting everyone to die, so i wasnt overly taken aback about everyone else, i just expected jingles to die way earlier, not be alive to the very end.
But you're right, all the good character either died or didnt get enough time to really be their own.
>>134467443
I'm still upset about Marie.
It's even more entertaining because they took Haruto from an awful character you wanted to die, and turned him into an at least sort-of-okay character before killing him off.
Actually now that I remember, there was a single good character that survived.
Long live space NEET.
TRY GETTING A RESERVATION AT DORSSIA NOW YOU FUCKING STUPID BASTARDS
>>134467632
I could not ever like haruto myself, they had various points they coulda made him decent but hed always roll back into annoying vampire-man. Only characts i ever grew to actually like were NEET and muscle man.
Everyone else was just too damn stupid to liveeven muscles but heywhich is probably what annoyed me the most. Geass was similar but the side characters werent completely retarded, most times, while the valv team save for a few were full of complete morons.
>>134467821
He wasn't really likable, he was just slightly redeemed.
Which lasted all of about 2 episodes or something before he was killed.
Either way, it's a show that was pretty spectacular in terms of being a train wreck.
And was something that I was actually upset at the ending of, until I actually realized what it did. Which surprisingly improved it a lot in my mind.
