>this week: an awesome Karamatsu episode

How does this oden taste to you Kara-boy?
I love Chibita for that nickname. Even Todo would call his older bro with Shittymatsu, fuck him. But he's kinda tolerable this episode.
Anyway, more Chibita and Kara please? I found they have good dynamic together. Like a true buddy to buddy thing.
So it is true Ichi is a masochist, the way he prepared for Juicy to 'use' him even though he said he would the first time we saw that routine and the way he is happy(?) with Juicy and banging his head on the concrete tiles.
Something about Juicy and AV-chan exchanging things.
Juicy's wristband and AV-chan's wrist bandages on the cone.
>Kara and that gayass glitter pants
I am a faggot but even I wouldn't wear one. Holy shit Kara, you freaking piece of shit. Tickles my humerus, really. I was dying when he wore that and when he showed it again at the udon shop.
In that scene you can him wearing the 14 wristband, but it's in his other arm.
Finally caught up with the threads, and I just wanted to say how depressing yet amazing this episode was. A bit of out-of-character is always nice in shows like this. Really makes the characters feel like more than walking punchlines.
Shout out to you other guys with broken hearts, by the way. We stick together like true niggamatsus.
During the official radio show the VA's (Karamatsu + Iyami) talked about how Ichimatsu is "actually a masochist". They seemingly also talked about the flags in the ass scene, and they said that it sounded like Ichimatsu enjoyed it. Apparently those screams were ad-libbed (with the exception of Juushimatsu).
Woah I didn't realize the wristband. I love subtlety when it is done right in any literature forms. Nice find. I was actually wondering where did she get that wristband anyway.
Just a Japanese folktale.
YES YES. Why is he always getting shat on when he is shit in gags only, when he is serious, he is the most lovable older brother one could get. The way he pauses and think before telling Juicy, then shrug it off by joking around and joining Ichi's game of hold with Juicy. Everything with Oso is damn nice this episode. Not in Calming Detective though, that one fails.
But now that you think of it, the brothers are acting decent when it comes to Juicy. I love them for that, they feel the need to protect him. Hnnng.
> Oso best older brother
I've been saying that for the past couple of weeks, anon. Glad you joined the party.
>yfw Hatabou not giving a fuck in the end and makes a snowman
The only small opening skit that works so far
Just watched the episode. Is this episode meant to be a msg to those suicidal people in Japan? How sweet of them.
Anyway, damn son, Osomatsu truly is the best older bro. Can we redo all those polls and make them a tie for all the brothers? Even Todo seems tame this episode.
That one moment Oso pauses and then shrug the idea of telling Juicy about the truth, hits me like a brick. Then the way Kara, Todo and Choro looked at each other before joining the chocking game with Ichi, Oso and Juicy makes me feel warm inside.
Oh, so the bandages have been wrapped on the traffic cone up until now? That explains why the "stripes" disappear while he wears the cone in ep 6.
And I guess it's unsurprising now why the cone was even present near the matsus' futon at all.
Kara gets shat on more, but I think Oso deserves love, too. In my opinion they all need love. I love them all, even Worst Matsu.
(I liked Oso as the calming detective. That was fucking hilarious.)
Oso's getting up there for me with his brother moments. He really has grown, hasn't he?
To be honest, last thread I talked about how his gimmick revolving around his brothers was kind of sad. But it's been really working out for him in both heartbreaking and stupid episodes. It really shows how far he's coming as an older brother, and that they're all maturing in one way or another.
I still really love when Chibita told him to start taking responsibility for the Matsus. Maybe he already had been?
He was more hyperactive than he's let believe for -san this far but okay regardless.
Probably just because the wave knocked him over so suddenly. The ocean can be some rough shit.
There isn't any need to call anyone retarded over a spelling mistake. That's pretty damn childish. Chill the fuck out.
That's how it's spelled on his official merchandise and F6 profile. Crunchyroll's just trying to keep consistent.
Totty was surprisingly cute and non-asshole this episode.
And thus it proves Chibita is a damn nice supporting character with his friendly advices to the Matsus. Just look at him this episode, giving a sound advice to Kara while that brat eats away at his udon. Chibita should win an award.
The cone isn't covered in bandages. It was already striped before he met her.
Everything on the sticks tastes the exact same way to me, and the texture is like a wet sponge.
I did not really care for it.
If you are in Chicago you can try it over at Strings.
Kara is not taken seriously, so others don't think about his emotions and well being too deeply and just have fun. He is a clown of the group everyone joke on. Todo's bulling comes from his highly attitude and not wanting to do anything with brothers when others are around. Since he is youngest others were just showing him his place.
Jojo? As in that Jojo?
Holy shit, please be joking. I want the characters in the show to treat him with respect once. Only Chibita knows him well and not his brother, it says something about them.
I can't believe Juicy gave up his humanity for AV.
Second son- Karamatsu
The cool idiot
A narcissist with manly eyebrows. Because he’s always speaking with airs, his brothers pretty much ignore him. He was apparently a part of the theatre club during his school years. Life is like a stage…
Matsubara: Karamatsu is exactly the way you see him. In episode 2, there was a scene where he was on a bridge and mumbling to himself as he kept looking at a pair of girls. Even though he was really being insulted by them, he was totally immersed in his own world and responded with “You’ve finally come to me, Karamatsu Girls.” That scene is very Karamatsu. But he also has a kindhearted side to him, and he rarely gets angry at others. Also, he surprisingly cries a lot. When he isn’t putting on airs and his honest feelings come out, he cries easily
Fuck them. Kara is too good for them ;_;
I was not ready for that episode.
Or, he was just saving the news for when it would be most devastating. Oso wanted Jyushi to hook up with the girl, get serious, propose, maybe even wait until they're standing on the altar... then he'd tell him
Didn't anticipate AV-chan dumping him. Now it wouldn't be any fun because he's already sad.
ichi is gay as fuck. It seems like whenever anime refers to a male character as "masochist" they mean that theyre also gay and a uke.
Hijirisawa Shounosuke? He was a one time character in the very first episode in 1966 as a burglar in a dog suit they couldn't tell wasn't a real dog.
I still think he is bi if he still has a thing for Totoko.
I'm still fucking mad.
Well fuck you, too.
>At the public bathhouse, he was the only one who hid his chest for some reason. I’m not sure, but he probably insists on not wanting to show his chest because he doesn’t like it… Even though he was completely fine with showing off something else. (laughs)
>sits like a girl
Why is Totty so femme?
Well, "neko" is slang for bottom, I've heard.
I am okay with emotional episodes but they have to spread them out with some comic relief.
So now we know Ichimatsu got the spiked flag.
I seriously thought these comics were saying that juicy sustained head trauma and that's why he acts all happy/oblivious.
Yeah I dropped that idea once he shown his serious side before.
Ichi I could see and technically Choro too since its been confirmed but I think both would be very reluctant to do it unless pressured.
The voices in that scene + this picture
I WAS NOT READY FOR THESE FEELS
Osomatsu-niisan was browsing for porn in the rental dvd shop and mentioned, "wait..isnt this..." meaning he recognized someone from one of the dvds-----its the girl jyushimatsu likes! So she's a porn star. Whether or not she was forced to do it or simply having regrets is unknown but this is most likely why she went all suicidal. If you see closely in the beginning when the girl is reviving jyushimatsu, there's bandage wrapped around one of her wrists = implied previous attempts of suicide. Its not shown, but jyushimatsu gives a sweatband?wristband? thing so she can cover up her scars. He tries to make her smile until the very end and thanks her at the last scene.
Osomatsu-niisan didn't have money that day
( "Don't...I...don't have any money today" quote that came out of nowhere)
because he rented and/or bought off all the videos she was in and got rid of them so that Jyushimatsu wont ever find them.
Choro is bi because pic related
Ichi is bi because he gets off on his brothers abusing him and taking a barbed flag to the ass
A het masochist would only get off on girls abusing him.
Why was Jyushimatsu such a beta in today's episode?
>gag show goes serious and gets it right
There is no better feeling, what a great episode.
what in the actual fuck is happening here?
>male cats usually bite them still on the neck
So lemme get this straight
>Kanojo-chan wants to kill herself
>MUSCLE MUSCLE HUSTLE HUSTLE
>She has wrist cuts
>Dumps Jyushi because she's moving back home
>Oso finds out she's an AV actress, probably the reason for suicide attempts
>Keeps his mouth shut
>That fucking crying scene
>Jyushi runs back and makes her laugh (bestu fucking matsu)
>She's using his wristband/number to hide her cuts from her parents
I miss anything? I felt most upset that we don't know if they''ll meet again. Will they live happily ever after?
>She has wrist cuts
>She's using his wristband/number to hide her cuts from her parents
Or it could just be that she's wearing it to remember Jyushi. I mean her method of suicide was jumping off a cliff. Or were there visible wrist cuts in the episode?
Big time for some of them. Ichi used to be really honest and was generally happier, and I believe Kara used to be the neat freak of the brothers. Choromatsu was way more self centered and hung out with Oso more. Can't remember the rest off the top of my head.
Karamatsu is caring.
Karamatsu loves himself, but he doesn't judge others.
Karamatsu doesn't let the bullying get to him.
Karamatsu wants to better himself.
Karamatsu wants world peace.
Karamatsu is miracle of the universe.
Totty didn't change much, since he was said to be spoiled and mostly carefree. Jyushi was as birdy as his name implied (he shares his name with a type of finch). Oso was still their leader, and sometimes they questioned why due to some of the stupid things he would get himself into.
Please pay more attention.
This was the image I was looking for
To reply to
Remember at the beginning of the Juicy part of the episode Oso said "one day..." or something, and Juicy said he met AV-chan a month before that, too.
Now we only need Choromatsu and Osomatsu to have seiyuu references. In special Choromatsu.
inb4 Choromatsu posing from a roof with both a black military uniform AND a 3DMG.
You don't know what you're talking about
Pretty sure Gintama is the only franchise allowed to get away with Sunrise piss takes (or as the anime mentioned before, "both projects were by Sunrise so ultimately a lawsuit would go nowhere"). And then I say they're just about allowed since they still censor some Sunrise shit.
What is it Ichimatsu?
I wanna do it
You want to do it now?
Is it ok if you top today?
Hurry and get your bottoms off
This is too sudden hold on a second
Hey hey what are you two doing?
No fair just the two of you. Oniisan is pent up too.
I'm joining in. That's okay right?
Good boy good boy
>Choromatsu tries to get taller
I'm up for this.
I gotcha bruvo
Keroro/Sgt. Frog also very openly and blatantly referenced a whole litany of shit, including Gundam and other Sunrise properties, and that ended up getting an anime by Sunrise, which went on to blatantly reference more shit, with the Gundam/Sunrise refs even more frequent due to that Gintama clause.
Y'all need to stop posting dark logs and start posting vanilla shit.
>He'll never love you
I'll just have to rape him into submission then.
I would say look on Nyaa, but the torrents for the subbed anime shit are almost all dead.
The Keroro threads on /m/ have DDL links to everything, though, even subs for later anime eps (post 158) that have basically vanished from the internet. Look in the pastebin.
Keroro was/is all about the anime producer and manga publisher tie-ins. Not the same deal as Gintama or Osomatsu-san. IIRC anime Keroro was used as a stealth announcement for an upcoming Gunpla.
I like all the matsus, can't imagine the show with any of them missing. Even the least popular matsu Totty has amusing reactions to his brothers.
>The Gintama episode where Shinpachi saves the penpal girl from committing suicide also had a sad but heartwarming romantic end
>mfw she never showed up or was mentioned again and all romantic progress for Shinpachi was completely reset
I swear to god if they string my heart along like that again just to never come back to it I will be platinum mad.
>All Matsus support Juicy's relationship and cheer for his happyness
>...but still beat the shit out of him because they're mad jelly
I really liked that little touch, that even at their bro-est and sappiest the Matsuno brothers are still at least a bit of a petty cunt. I think that's what puts this show apart from so many other "character's a bitch but suddenly MUH FEELS" shows, that the siblings relationship doesn't just dissapear.
Seeing this fan art after this episode just makes me want to cry more. I'm gonna go roll into a corner somewhere.
>22 years old NEET
>if I don't find a job soon, I will become like "him" too
What is Tanaka Aiko doing in this show? Not to mention these two are similar in some ways.
Of course AV-chan is much better
Even after him acting normal around his brothers, seeing him break down in a completely normal fashion was too much. Then, him attempting to cheer her up again in regular Jyuushi fashion was a nice juxtaposition.
This episode really improved my opinion of him. He's finally acting like a big brother.
Heck, the episode had a bit of development for everyone but Choromatsu and Todomatsu. Though they were both supportive, so that's nice.
What kind of angry person would Kara be?
>A: The one that gives you deadly glares and treats you indifferently
>B: Explosive anger filled with insults and some physical harm
was not ready for the feels this episode
>everyone but Choromatsu and Todomatsu.
I honestly can't remember anything significant Choro has done or been involved in since the first episode.
Cool people don't get angry.
What scenario would get Karamatsu legitimately angry? Most scenes involving the others getting hurt is played for laughs and he brushes off any abuse himself. Maybe someone stealing his Karamatsu Girls away or crushing his aspirations?
He needs development at some point. Maybe an episode dedicated to himself might improve his standing since it did Ichimatsu and Jyuushimatsu tons.
He's always there to add some seriousness to the silliness everyone else is providing. Being the voice of reason in an anime like this really does make him boring but I'm hoping they find a way to emphasize it for the better.
>He's always there to add some seriousness to the silliness everyone else is providing. Being the voice of reason
So he's a character that can literally be described with just one word. Truly the most boring matsu.
Still smiling, still joking, still tryharding.
>"Heh... as you can tell from my face, I'm extremely angry right now. Be careful with me, things could get dangerous for you."
>"What!? That's the same expression that you always have!"
Osomatsu is the glue that holds the show together
Choromatsu is the smudge on your screen that your subconscious registers as needing to be cleaned, but not so much that you would actually do anything about it.
There's one out there somewhere, you just need to look.
I think his standout moment was his tsukkomi in the Mother interview, which oddly enough added to the comedy. And then at the end he pulls the "grandchild" triumpcard which, as a fellow kissless loser whose brothers are also losers, is still my favorite gag in the show.
Not a bad straight man at all, I've seen way worse- I've yet to see a joke ruined by him screaming about it, unlike in say Gintama where half of the time I want to punch Shinpachi's stupid face in.
>implying the phrase doesn't fit
>implying /c/uck isn't used on /a/
You'd wish it weren't but it is m8 and has been for awhile.
However yes, there are two other boards I go on but /a/ is the vast majority of my usage compared to them. I doubt you're thinking of the right ones anyway.
I think that might be the case. I can't see it happening with anyone in the current cast (Totoko, Iyami, etc.) that would come off as a legitimate beat down. Maybe it would have to be within the family but again, I don't know if they would ever do the bumbling brothers beating each other as anything serious.
Though after ESP Kitty and Jyuushimatsu in Love, they've shown they're capable enough to do a serious development like that.
>the only one of the group that even tries to be responsible
Choro literally is Shinpachi, but at least Shinpachi's complete pathetic-ness and unending bad luck made him endearing.
Some fans pointed out that Jyushi was cosplaying Toshi from X Japan in pic related, propably prepared by Ichi. First Hide, and now Toshi. Just how much Ichi loves Visual Kei? Now wonder he doesn't get along with Kara, who is into Ozaki.
>emphasize Choro's role as voice of reason
I hope not. Even if Choro (and his VA) is well-suited for it, the straightman/tsukkomi role is easy to fill. Osomatsu, Todomatsu, and even Iyami have been that in several scenes.
Seeing Choro LEAVE the 'responsible matsu' role is interesting. Like in ep 7 (obviously) or ep 4, where he bounced from 'shut up Kara, I'll just take care of you if necessary' straight to 'I cannot live with Kara and Juicy'.
I'm crying and laughing. Holy fuck.
Even if he isn't my favorite to watch, Choromatsu is still the one I'd pick if I had the opportunity to be with a Matsuno in real life.
Because he understands The True Meaning of Friendship and other shit like that, so he won't abuse me or take advantage of me like the others would.
Totty is the most normal. If he wants a job, even just a part-time one, he can get it and can conduct himself normally and politely (even if fake) in public.
Idolfags are even lower than regular otaku
The problem with Choro is his defining characteristics are being the tsukkomi and liking idols. The first is a very specific comedy role that can either be taken by others (and usually is) or isn't even needed. The second pigeon-holes the types of stories and skits that they can do with him more than any other matsu, and the producers know that every third story being about idols would get old real fast.
He needs to set himself apart in another manner then. Besides being a voice of reason, his only other notable feature is the idol industry/Totoko which the other brothers latched onto anyways. If he's going to be irresponsible, they need to do it for the right reasons. Even the tickets for the concert were brushed away with little concern once Totoko was brought up.
Like others have said, his actions during the custody were a nice mix between his normal routine and then doing what he had to to survive. I'd like to see Choromatsu's character expanded but I'm not sure how they'll go about it.
Producers said his defining gimmick is that he's crap when it comes to women but that seems to be a trait they all share. Same with the idol thing. You could easily single out every other Matsu with the exception of him and Oso which is why the two of them aren't doing so hot.
That's what I'm saying. Choromatsu needs to develop in another manner.
I'm actually glad that Osomatsu has been showing more big brother tendencies as of late. He might be the original template for the other Matsu's to derive from but even small scenes like in Jyushimatsu in Love have done a lot to further his role as a big brother as character defining.
If Osomatsu knows about the AV, they have a possible mechanism to track her down and reintroduce her into the story, that or fan comics are going to write her back in any way, so you can consider that the endgame.
I'm starting to get afraid of Osomatsu-san threads, people get too lewd about men in them.
He used to be the more clever and selfish one of his group. I think I honestly wonder if some part of that is still in him and when it could potentially be used.
I'd say the custody battle brought that out. Maybe we'll see more of that in Virgin Hero? I don't want it to end up like Totty's episode where his characterization only emphasized previous assumptions. For a scene about Totty, we got a lot more out of the other brothers.
They're literally just screaming, but I'll take a crack at it.
> Kara: IYAAAAAAAAA!
> Choro: UAAAAAAAA!
> Ichi: (Some weird moan)
> Jyushi: Whoo hoo!
> Todo: Aaaaaaaahn!
I honestly thought it was gonna be a cute little slapstick show aimed at a younger audience, kinda like the original Osomatsu-kun. I only decided to watch it for the VAs and got something a lot bigger and more enjoyable than I bargained for. Don't really know how to portray that as a WEG.
