Can someone please explain me what the actual fuck is going on with these 3 characters?
Serious question: What was the author and Kodansha in general (with side material, merch etc) thinking when they decided to make these three fuckers so likable or, at very least, "sympathetic"? They're obviously intended to die sincethey're 'villains'and their death is going to piss off lots of people (lots of people who give them money), taking in consideration how they're portrayed. So why? I honestly don't understand. Explain me what's the big gotcha here, /a/.

> their death is going to piss off lots of people
so everything is in place since Isayama loves being a douchebag.
>Likeable
Between them they're responsible for literally hundreds of thousands of deaths.
Their motivation for fucking everyone's shit is hazy at best.
Just because you like them doesn't make them likable or "sympathetic".
Likeable characters dying is effective way to get reactions and buzz from people. It's also not his job to protect characters who are popular, that's fucking horse shit just tell your story

they don't really know why they're doing what they're doing. they're just brainwashed children, trained since birth for something they don't know what it is but that's their purpose in life. that's probably why some people 'forgive' them.

cry harder OP, she cannot hear you.

Man vs Nature is boring as fuck. I can't believe you signed on for that. Go read Moby Dick if you can't handle character development.
All of them are still alive.
Shifters are endgame. Humans are barely relevant anymore.
Feels bad.

Isn't it a good thing if it pisses people off? A bad death would be one where no one would care, like Hannes' for example.
I like them and I'll be sad if any of them dies, but it will make for a better story than if none of them died.

Did Hannes die? I am up to date on the manga and I don't even remember that
>>134155646
He is kill by the smiling titan who killed Eren's mom back in chapter 50 or 51.;_;
>>134155646
I guess that proves my point. He died in chapter 50.
>>134154653
>their death is going to piss off
Yes but not really. They're kinda popular indeed, but their fans know they're going to die at some point and it's sort of ok, because they're decent villains, not just your average "I will kill you all for no reason just because it makes me happy *evil laughter*" bullshit.

>Not caring for Hannes
I bet you didn't even cry when Nick died :_:
>>134155916
>Nick
literally who?
>>134156377
>>134154653
>Bert
>having something "going on" for him
>no backstory
>no development
>no personality
His role is to be literal wallpaper.

You hate moral ambiguity, anon?
Annie is the best character in the series.
