The important thing to remember is that deceiving others is Akira's #1 defining trait and there's zero reason to believe that she doesn't have other deceptions going on.

That said, the entire reason Akira wanted MireiMamo in that facility was obviously to test them/try to push them to their limit. What remains unknown is whether Akira is doing this as part of her own plan or part of Evil Corporation's plan.

It's possible that the Hiiragi family company is allied with or got bought out by the Evil Company, or maybe they're rival companies and the Hiiragi company has corporate espionage going on which is how they know part of what's going on and how they got early warning about girls being sent to the islands.

We'll have to wait and find out.

I've also been getting that same anxiety. For most fanservice shows, I just don't normally care because they're run their course and do what they do. Even past Kaneko projects were still adaptations so he only had so much liberty, but VDM seems like something that gave him so much more control, so it really strikes close to what I'm looking for in stupid ecchi anime: ridiculousness and grotesque eroticism in abundance. The show is watchable BECAUSE of how fucking stupid it all is.

I mean, you have a rare virus that only triggers when this specific lesbian makes this other specific lesbian orgasm. The entire show makes no fucking sense to the point at which it loops back around to being so stupid it's fantastic.
