an harem MC who is not a beta pussyfag?
Holy shit sign me up!
what did /a/ think of this in 2013, beside the obvious "date a slut xD" and "would you a clock?" memes?
This guy right here. Even beat up a tranny without hesitating.
It's not really worth the watch though, they didn't fix most of vol 7 adpation and volume 6 still is the weakest vol in the series. S1 director's cut, however, is a nice watch.
>reading japanese selfinsert fanfiction at that
this anime speaks to me
Well, let's hope the movie doesn't dissapoint in that aspect.
>yeah Shidou, we want you to give up your rose coloured highschool life to date these emotional fragile freaks from another dimension who may explode if they're on their period
>rose colored highschool life
You probably never read the LN, before meeting Tohka he had a somewhat famous/infamous reputation in school but what does that have to do with being alpha or beta?
There is also whatever happened to him in the past.
> Does the chores: cleaning, cooking, buying
> Has to keep the seals strong and keep the girls satisfied
> Manifesting an angel causes physiscal pain and mental stress on him but doesn't mind it
> He died practically two times
> Had sex with clock and stalker (Rinne Utopia is canon)
> Lost 1 waifu
He's the only harem MC who is worth talking about.
He might not be a beta pussyfag, but he's bland and generic as fuck. I recalled the times I read DAL and there's not a single time that actually features himself that make me remember well.
What is his appeal and significance that makes him based anyway? Don't include vol 12.
Basically he can do shit without resorting to power ups and asspulls, the point of the series is to solve the girls problems but in order to do that he must understand how the girls think and what is exactly the problem.
make way for Rito "I totally tripped by mistake, honest" Yuuki
the master of the drunk style kung-fu
fingerer of pussies
grabber of boobs
inhaler of panties
the true and only king of harems
Literally every battle harem MC goes"alpha mode" when they protect their harem, it's nothing new. People call them beta because they act like spineless faggots outside of action scenes.
In anime, dense betas assures for the MC's survival as well as the formation of a harem, while manly alphas with a healthy sexuality literally die for it.
No? He can't use most of the powers and just one of them puts a lot of mental stress and damages his body so he is always trying to find a different way to save the girls. Are we reading the same novels?
Rinne and Mayuri are probably the best female characters.
In her route, they "spent the night together"
The only alpha harem lead in recent history is the dude from trinity seven, he never even had plans or dreams for a harem like Issei, he just rolled with it when it magically fell into his lap. Maybe Basara, I feel like if he didn't lose his wizardry by nailing them he would just fuck Mios shit all up and they'd have freaky incest roleplay the whole time.
We have a good one this season
Origami got also the Shidoubowl.
Did you save that from the first thread or something?
No Miku is worst girl, and new origami is good
Not that much was cut out.
Only the QUALITY is to blame and the BD's fix that.
Everyone is working on to redeem themselves, it's quite nice
I forgot where I was in the LNs. I want to say it was during the Miku arc but I may be confused with the anime, which I happened to drop a few episodes into that specific arc and never got back to.
Dunno anon, guess we have to wait until february.
Not sure if I would rather hug or fug. Any suggestions?
Captain cake a best
No just give me either Yuzuru or Kurumi
She got her own side story. That's kinda unexpected.
What? People used to say this a lot after S1 ended. S2 had less material to adapt but it was filled with QUALITY and stills, most of the added scenes are not even that important anyway.
I don't know if S3 would be a good idea at this point, it has more dates and less fanservice like S1 but it's 4 volumes so there is a high chance they are going to fuck up the adaption again.
S2 had potential to be a disappointment considering vol 5 and 6 are the weakest volumes in the series but volume 7 was good. Too bad all the budget went to the twins arc because it literally was the fanservice arc.
The good thing is we're past the weak volumes of this series and if they ever adapt a 3rd season, unless it has a lot of QUALITY, I doubt it will be a dissapoitment. This new studio is really improving as the time passes, give it 3 years and they are ready to go for a third season.
Actually I think that's the reason they make an obligatory filler episode so that they can have more "added scenes" in the BDs. Just looks at S1 BDs and the director's cut, it's obvious they are milking the series.
We are still waiting for a summary even before volume 13 was released, also Nia got a short story.
But he could of had a trio of Waifus
I honestly think the Author forgot about this fact when he started writing the Trio into the Harem Shenanigans in later Volumes
judging from their reactions in 13 they may end up falling for MC even if its more for jokes and lol's
Also posting best teacher for marriage
He didn't forget about it, remember pic related? She mentions her boyfriend but other than that she didn't put any resistance. I think she is just desperate and Shidou must be the closest man to her in the classroom.
I want Mii to scold me and tell me I'm gross
Tohka literally ruins everything
oh well I wouldn't mind if The author continues using them as comic relief for a bit more, Shido did say he was going to try to clear up the Misunderstanding later since he never got the chance in Vol 13
Tama-chan is still Canon for fiancée since Vol 1
AST Spin-Off anime when?
I don't think it is Tohka's fault the fact the author doesn't write about the other girls also her relevance has decreased a lot in the last few volumes. What we need are more short stories with actual interactions between Shidou and the girls like in older short stories, the last good story was Mana Research and we don't even have a summary for Reine's.
Add another to the Most Wanted list.
She knows how to draw and was used accordingly
She didn't have a chance to cockblock Yoshino, because a situation to do so never presented itself
Natsumi is still shit and I'm glad she had to be the comfort girl for Miku during the manga sale competition
It's only a scene, she can go back to being a little bitch next arc. There is no point in giving good scenes to shit girls if they never change, Natsumi has her chance now but Miku is beyond salvation.
Yoshino, Kotori, Nia and other girls have better thighs than her
I'll just take all of Kurumi
Still no idea if we are going to get summaries of the missing side-stories.
Boy the difference.
I want to give Ai the attention she wants
This man. This man right here. Can't believe no one has posted him
It's a start. Let's hope Miku gets a chance to really shine as well.
And no chance to pull a silly u/ pandering scene too.
Why was she such a Whore?
>wtf is with those loopy pigtails
At least we got better animation in the movie.
Does DAL have anything else to it beyond a battle harem, does he ever fuck one of them, does a relationship ever begin with any of them or is he just endlessly collecting them giving a kiss once in a while to shut them up?
Before all the battles and seriousness of the later Novels it was more of a Romcom using dating sim knowledge, it's still ongoing leading to etheir a Main girl end or Harem end it's too light hearted for serous fanservice though so no ecchi
If Author follows the pattern of basing the girls off angels theirs only one more slot open
This is begin written by Blanc. Of course it's EPIC
so we have a Triofag
and a Miifag
But No Maifag?
is she that plain she doesn't compare to the rest of the Trio?
I liked the route the anime took, sleeping around with two insane females, who know you're playing off each of them and still fucking half the cohort as well won't end well. But still, I'd rather have MCs that fuck multiple girls of the harem and early, have them come in and have their argument of 'me or her' or 'all together' and get it over with quickly. Ain't nothing wrong with sleeping around if the other partners know about it. It's the hiding it and playing them off against each other for benefits that's the problem.
All I hear about that is 'non canon, routes are just fluff pleasing each fanbase', which is how these harem VNs tend to go. The author actually stated a route was canon? Did the series suddenly become a multiverse?
>All I hear about that is 'non canon
Maybe the second and third game but the first game Rinne Utopia might be canon at this point, unlike the other games the author never confirmed it as non canon and the main girl Rinne "appears" in the novels.
>The author actually stated a route was canon?
All the routes in the game are canon. In order to unlock the true end you must complete the other routes, this is tied to the plot because Rinne, the main heroine in the game, is constantly resetting Shidou's life so that he can be happy with everyone but it's revealed the "resets" are not perfect and Shidou still has memories from previous routes eventually leading to a Rinne route where he remembers everything(including other routes) after kissing her.
Didn't you meant Origami by that?
>>beyond a battle harem
Things really go out of hand as the novels advance. You actually miss the "easy days" of the beginning.
It makes them memorable, so in a way, yeah.
I mean, Dio Brando may very well be the biggest asshole in all of manga as a whole but we fucking love the guy because he makes an amazing impression.
but he is not a main character and you can't really compared a well known series like JoJo to something moderately popular like DAL also assholes villains tend to have high charisma.
Nonsense, we still have 258 posts. Origami is the best DAL, and is besides clock, the only one with drive or a goal. The others just sit around and do nothing but provide some fanservice. Far less entertaining to watch.
I thought that was the nomenclature around here, I haven't been in a DAL thread since early S1. You say having goals =/= good character, but without goals the thing in question isn't even a character. Just a plot point or a piece of scenery.
>having another change of mind and kill her current character
Of course that's what should be done.
How slow are you?
The animation can't match up to Tsunako's art desu.
get the number 11 when you split the kanji?
Yeah, becuase you can punch a guy who has defeated an entire building full of hard-trained super humans.
At least there is that to look forward.
The studio is really recovering after all.
He did faggot. Didn't you read the previous comments?
Yeah, first time in a while since I'm looking forward to this.
It makes you wonder if she (and the other Spirits) remember all of these "events" or if they are still blocked away.
Likely, given the serious level of this mater, they are not touching on this subject again but if they did and the Spirits (but not Shidou - yet) "remembered" what happened in Rinne Utopia it would make for some potentially odd situations.
And then there is the fact that Rinne herself remembers it all and that she does not mind like, at all...
That does not stops her from begin way out there.
That's a good question but I doubt they will answer till the main plot finally shows up.
Use the golden-eyed Shidou anon.
Not really, you don't really need a reason to move the plot forward. It's not like the plot is centered around becoming the spirit king or some shit like that. Heroes don't really need a reason to save people.
>one day later thread still up
Op here I'm impressed.
I marathoned the directors cut s1 in a day and so couldn't follow all you ln/vn fags, but I'm glad date a live is still going stronk, it was a fun watch but I would have liked more kissu and less origami oh well
It's a possibility nut it depends on where does the author (>>134158738 )wants to take the story in the next volume.
Part of me wants to see that happening as that will push Shidou and Co into overdrive in order to get the Angel back AND will ensure that Nia stays central to the plot for at least one more volume.
>>Origami gets better later
Her short story WHEN
Why would you recommend an awful adaption of the two weakest entries in the series and a badly adapted version of volume 7? Yeah, they fixed most of the QUALITY but the art is still inferior to S1 the added scenes are not really worth it.
The twins arc maybe if you want fanservice but the first half of Miku arc was so terrible and it hurts to see how they did not fix any of the actual problems in the last three chapters.
>Glad to hear you enjoyed it, remember to never watch S2.
You know I will.
It's not like we can ever get off this wild ride.
I will watch it, I will hate it, I will complain about it, I will get told to be less of a slowpoke or redirected to reddit.
It's the life we chose for ourselves, there's no turning back
>tfw tipsy and becoming sage
I remember watching back when it was airing. The moment Purple Hair went from apparant Kuudere to BWAKA! BWAKA! in episode 2 was the single greatest moment that season for me. Totally took me by surprise and nearly gave me a heart attack. The rest of the season was fun enough.
Couldn't get into Season 2, dropped it at episode 2 or something. I don't really like Harems, but the first season was great. Threads were fun.
>>And by imouto I mean kokori
She is not even a real imouto.
The first season had fair balance and the story wasn't as jumpy. Second season was pretty random. I'm not sure if the LN is like that. One of the episodes in season 2 felt like it was moving at break neck speed and I can't remember which. But yeah just felt super jumpy
I thought how does this piece of shit not want to splatter Tooka's brains out because she's so stupid.
>S1 covered Kotori turning into a spirit
Not really, they showed a flashbakc and that's it. It says nothing about Phantom and how she told Kotori about the sealing powers, the same scene also has the moment where Kotori receives the ribbons and gets her development. Phantom's conversation with Kurumi also tells us where she gets her info and the fact she doesn't know Phantom is only using her.
I have a very serious question and you better give me a serious answer guys. If Kurumi powers allow her to summon her past / future clones or whatever , does that mean that each clone wears different bra cup?
Reine is Phantom
Explain why Reine is never present when Phantom shows up
and if Reine really is Phantom she would have knowledge of Rinne Utopia which would explain why she turns into Rinne
Her plan is to gather all the spirit powers inside Shidou to save him(?) from something we don't know about, Westcott taking a crystal goes against it and he is also a potential threat for Shidou.
But it was an inverse Crystal Not a normal one
she doesn't care if they suffer as long as they get sealed
Gave one to Kotori knowing she couldn't handle it
gave one to Kurumi (probably) knowing her stupid plan would fail eventually
gave one to Origami knowing what would happen in the past
Again, that goes against her plan. Westcott taking a demon is even worse than taking an angel and I didn't even mention the girls because it seems like Shidou is the only who truly matters to her but now I'm not so sure.
But Shido can't seal inverse anyway
I see your point about letting Wescott have it is bad but is there really anything she could have done? We don't know the limitations of her powers
Except he can, are we really discussing this again? He sealed dark powers in vol 7 and 11, if you are not convinved by vol 11 then reread 7 again and notice how the demon sword and dress only disappear after Shidou kissed Tohka.
No he just reverted them back to their pre inverse state
Love is required to seal spirit powers. Inverse forms haven't shown to be able to come to love something
that's just what Inverse Tohka fags believe
Not this shit again. Tohka was free from her other persona but still had the dark powers inside her, why do you think the sword and dress did not revert? Turning into a dark spirits is not an easy thing to do and getting rid of those powers is also hard.
Love is not really required to seal spirits, this was also stated somewhere in the first 4 volumes.
I have tried to watch this literally over a dozen times now because every time I see people posting the girls, I think "how cute" and download some episodes.
I have never once made it to the end credits of the first episode without quitting in disgust at how bad it is.
I assume the twins will be the next Encore cover
>liking women only for their body's
>not all autism is bad its's actually kinda cute
Still smarter then Tohka
She's a small bundle to a better package
I will agree that together the twins are objectivlybest girl
I don't disagree with that but Kaguya has no development so far in the novels, even Yuzuru got something in vol 8. I don't understand how can you like her so much when she only has her chuuni act.
Say that again.
I want Tsun Dark to lick my D thinking it was a treat
>Natsumi sizes never
>Mayuri stats never
>Good colors never
I was there, all that people not understanding how Shidou told Kurumi to tell to his other self to ask for help to the past Kurumi was hilarous, also all that discussion about predestined paradoxes and breaking the timeloop was fun but I don't know why the anon who made these edits used Arusu, I also was expecting a back to the future edit during the threads.
