Something about a radical superhero group called Inferno Queen dispensing EXTREME JUSTICE punisher-style. They seem to be American Supers. It might have something to do with Jaguar-san?
Details for the ticket event have now been made available.
The Special Event will be held April 16th at the Kanagawa Prefecture Great Hall.
The following cast members will be there.
Kaito Ishikawa (Jirou), Sumire Uesaka (Kikko), Eriko Nakamura (Fuurouta), ZAQ (opening song performance), Yōsuke Yamamoto (ending theme performance), Makoto Kawamoto (insert song), Ishida Shokichi, and more.
We won't know if it's a filler or not until we've seen it.
This will be a very happy funny episode, I can already tell.
I ship it. Too bad recurring characters don't show up too much. Also is this going to be 13 or 26 episodes dammit? If it's a split cour but the second part gets canceled because of abyssal sales I'm going to slit a bitch
This is the eternal agony of those who can't ching-chong nip nong and just ask the dudes and dudettes straight.
English Synopsis for Episode 9.
>#09 Beyond the Endless Family
>Housewife Sanae Hatakeyama and her family of six live in the antique shop "Mori-no-ya." Her husband Minoru was the first Japanese prisoner when war broke out with the U.S., and close to 30 years had passed without his return. The seemingly ordinary Hatakeyama family had survived a great disaster that occurred at a nearby chemical plant, and had also been witnessed several times over the years with the exact same family members. Therefore, there were suspicions that they were immortal superhumans. After the Superhuman Bureau gets curious about the family, Fuurouta and the others start on a secret investigation. But then, Sanae receives word that Minoru is returning.
The sales are OK so far. And Earth-chan and Judas seems to play a important role in the future timeline*.
*Although the same is true for Robocop and we have only seen him in the future once.

It's ranking quite poorly, actually. But if it was going to be split cour, that shouldn't change even if sales end up badly.
Oh cool, a CR thread. Made a bad shop of the official timeline.
Robots in disguise > Ghosts, Golems and Big Youkai
>Shinka 16, December (1941)
Hatakeyama enlists in the Japanese Army to avoid having his family registered. He works as a submarine scout commander, but gets captured by U.S. forces, and is then experimented upon once they find out that he's immortal and can regenerate from any wounds.
>Shinka 42, October (1967)
An explosion occurs at an Ether factory. Miraculously, a family of six people closest to the factory survive. They attract the attention of the Superhuman Bureau.
>Shinka 44, September (1969)
The Superhuman Bureau is monitoring the Hateyama-family, who are still waiting for the male to finally return from US captivity. Jirou at this point has already left the bureau. The new leader of the Bureau seems to be Jirou's foster father, having replaced Daishi Akita. The US sends Stunticons to kill the Hateyama, because they don't want to let anybody else have the secret of immortality.
It's simply too serious and an original anime without a horde of fans.
Not enough naked girls, not enough cute guys, not enough plastic robots, etc... It's lacking most of the stuff that sells nowadays.
The primary reason is the fact that volume 1 sells with only one episode.
And yes, retro superhero with a heavy emphasis on nostalgia and alternate history is very niche already. This furthermore being an original show means that the fanbase for it is small.
But its fanbase does like it very much.
He actually has two eyes.
This episode was fucking fun, despite being fucking gruesome.
We still don't know why he left the Bureau, but it seems it was just a bit before the events in this episode
Thank fuck, I was a little worried there for a second.
They've seen life on Earth evolve. They will see all life on Earth end.
>not enough cute guys
I thought it has a lot of cute guys, Jiro, Judas, ghost shota etc etc the list goes on.
Sayonara, my love.
>almost got a tear out of me
>genuinely smiled when they came back
Seriously, is Japan trying to tell everyone that old people should commit suicide, or what?
>volume 1 sells with only one episode
It's also discounted, so if anything, that should make it sell more. I remember plenty of shows doing that (Nana way back in the day, Anohana, Love Live and so on).
Everything save for the art style.
Slogged through 7 eps of this crap and I still don't care about the boring Chuuni protag and his equally boring chuuni as fuck org and the reason they're dicking over heroes and whatnot.
Nor do I find the half-assed time skip rashomon bullshit in any way compelling because it's just a tedious waiting game to see when Chuuni McProtag has his breaking point where he decides to ditch the organization and awakens his fap arm, what he does next, and the motive for the organization being dicks.
30 bucks for one episode on one disc? Just having to switch the disc if I were in the mood to watch some further episodes would be already a hassle.
If I were a typical otaku who was going to shell out lots of nippon-dollars for those overpriced BDs, might as well want 2 or even 3 episodes on the first BD for 70-80 bucks.
But if BandaiVisual believes that this is the right selling strategy, then so be it. They've been long enough in that business to know what they're doing, I guess.
Was the family humans from the start, or did they evolve together with other life forms?
Can they breed? Would their offspring also be immortal? If not, are their descendants the origin of superheroes?
Is that baby aware of how old it is, or is it forever trapped with an infant's mind?
Also, some teasing by Emi
>woman fighting a cockroach
suspension of disbelief lost
>Oh, that robot is killing everyone because it was sent to kill us
>Let's just let it kill us so that its kill count is full.
Zapp Brannigan would be proud of them.
I will bring back his smile.
It's not like Bandai Visual needs any extra sources of revenue right now and can more than take any sort of hit. 8-Bit is going to be leeching off of suckers from the Key fanbase in a few seasons anyway along with Aniplex so they'll be okay too.
>Magical girl doesn't lust after his shotadick
>Bug loli did, but he killed her entire species, so she can't love him anymore
>Eternal loli has to leave him to evade capture by the authorities
Being Fuurouta is suffering
I also almost posted in a CL thread thinking I was in a CR thread, it's fine.
But damn, how much of a masochist you should be to keep watching after the second ep, drop that shit already
What was this about?
I gotta say, the voice acting for the american soldier sounded quite passable.
Didn't sound American though. That accent came from England.
Well it looks like Jiro left during the mess where the alien chief came to light, so I guess he found out about all the conspiracies and stuff. It looks like he didn't go all rogue at the start, and just stopped working for the bureu and is a hobo now.
I guess Minoru chose to become captured by the US voluntarily.
Better to get shot and having a vivisection performed upon than killing other people.
I can respect that.
Well the problem is we are about to be 10 episodes in and the story is entirely build up. The episode we see why Jirou leaves and what comes after will really make or break the show. Might be too late for good sales at this point though.
They might be immortal but that doesn't mean they have superhuman strength or reflexes or anything like that? He was probably just too slow.
But anon he never gave up on Rainbow Knight
Yeah, sure. I didn't imply that he dodged the bullets. He probably got hit by all of them. Several times. Over and over again.
Just that he probably crashed his sub on purpose to get captured so that he wouldn't be fighting in the war.
This basically, all we are doing now is waiting to get to the Jiro defects episode to then have a future episode where Jiro does his revolution and we end before anything happens.
What we do know now through this episode is that all the supers registered by the Bureau must comply in experiments that the Japanese government might demand of them (together with the US).
This episode was sponsored by ant man.
Got involuntary shivers seeing ants being used like this.
>couldn't win against the Americans
I find that funnier than I should.
So to summarize:
>Kikko loves Jiro
>Jiro dating Emi
>Emi mad that there's this homewrecker around
>Ghost kinda wants Kikko
>Jiro cares about Kikko so little he just casually looks at her in only a towel with no reaction
Is this correct?
>magic and myths being rekt by human technology
everytime. humanity, fuck yeah
>a person blamed for the break-up of a marriage or long-term relationship, especially as a result of having an affair with one of the partners.
jesus christ, funi
USA USA USA.
Nice episode and looks like the gang isnt that angry with jiro either.
Even if you're an immortal with regeneration powers that make Wolverine look like a jobber, it still takes some cojones to let yourself get slowly dissolved on a molecular level. That shit's gotta hurt like hell.
Some guy on /k/ killed all sorts of animals ranging from birds to entire cats by making his fire ants eat them alive. He talked about how he wanted to militarize ants and kill actual people using them.
Dude was fucking insane and posted a bunch of things he did in video format.
Episode was ok but I wish we could have spend more time with the family.
Requires a what?
What an asshole.
>Not enough naked girls, not enough cute guys, not enough plastic robots
But this show has all those things, plus more! The truth is that people can't follow non-linear stories, especially when it changes mid episode. People have trouble following fucking Monogatari because the arcs aren't in order. Fucking Monogatari is 2complex4 most anime fans.
They're like two little kids fighting like that.
Subtly told, nice one Emi.
They never wanted to feast on human entrails. Just live on Mars and keep sucking green martian brains Let the kaijuus go. .
>you will never be a very delicate little being held up by a peaceful immortal loli
There's probably people complaining about the complexity of SAO. Lowest common denominator and all that jazz.
Maybe it actually is, I haven't watched it, but I assume it isn't.
Also giant pumpkin man. Brace for season 2
>7/13 episodes in S1 is filler
>2 harem, 1 angst, 2 daughteru, and 2 ACE DETECTIVE episodes
>Promises 100 floors, maybe 2 floors actually beaten on screen
>Didn't even finish on floor 100
>Time skips everywhere
>Ending is quite literatly CAN"T DIE BECAUSE WILLPOWER
>Character are bland and flat
Updated the timeline pastebin. http://pastebin.com/YYKqFYg8
So it seems Jirou left Superhuman Bureau before September, Shinka 44 (this episode). They're still on rather amicable terms considering they just talk to each other, as if Jirou merely changed companies. Two things of note are Jaguar saying "Will you get in our way again?" and Emi saying "Jirou, I'm not mad at you". This proves that there already has been a prior incidence and that Emi is Jirou's loyal waifu, despite what he may have done.
Either way they went from amicable terms to more hostile terms because we later see Kikko/Furouta actively chasing Jirou. That's in April, Shinka 46. There's a 1.5 year gap there so something must have happened to cause the shift in their relationship.
Yeah, Jiro's dad (?)(the scientist guy voiced by Miki Shinichiro I think) said something like "After what happened with Chief Akita...". I'm guessing that his leaving/whatever he does is related to Jiro leaving.
It's probably related to Jirou getting the scarf outfit along with control over his arm. Outfit changes seem important in this show so I think some deep shit is going to hit the fan that'll result in the different outfit.
His suit was pretty messed up in this episode
I think the old man was the one to betray superheroes first with one of his odd plans.
Jirou either decided to protect him when everyone was against him or went against him when everyone did nothing.
Maybe whatever happened has something to do with Rainbow Knight mask he stole, that would definitely trigger Jirou.
>fap fap fap
Why didn't the Garands go Ping when they ejected their magazines?
I am kind of irritated how friendly Jiro is to the Bureau. They not only betrayed him and lied to him for all of his life, but they are also the prime enemies of justice. He shouldn't be so buddy-buddy with them.
>The government is the will of the people
>seriously thinking this
Must be nice living in a happy bubble of delusions
But I'll warn you, it will burst someday. You can't remain inside forever
>Mister Cloud and miss doorknob were literally souls of humans polymorphed into those objects
>Mister Cloud was used as a living shield
They couldn't crack the secret of immortality from the body of Minoru Hatakeyama, so they wanted to make sure that nobody else could get it from his body or that of his equally immortal family, and sent a Transformer-Terminator after them to make sure that absolutely nothing whatsoever would remain of them that could be analyzed by other organizations.
>Japanese group suicide defeats evil American war machine
>turns into a cheetah
So how does the robot hold the fluid, capable of destroying all matter, before it pours it out? And what kind of clean up does this incur for the neighbourhood?
>website called him a leopard
>mfw Cheetor was fighting Optimus Prime on this episode
He's had the cat form thing for a while. His watch can control time and he himself is the cat person. His origin is currently unknown. Next episode looks like he will have a larger focus.
>The primary reason is the fact that volume 1 sells with only one episode.
This is a standard for most anime, Owarimonogatari only comes with one episode for the first volume.
You do realize that the ratings are meaningless because its just the people who stuck around after most everyone dropped it right?
Right, its the watch itself. He straining himself to use it looks dangerous.
I guess he is some kind of a rogue time cop. Been waiting for his backstory too all this while.
It's unnerving how cynical and ruthlessly cruel this anime can be while simultaneously being cartoony and stylish.
>yfw you realize this is the anime version of Civil War
>mfw Jirou is Cap and Jaguar is Tony
>mfw Jirou will die at the end
Just like using gigazord or mech body... oh wait, they ARE considered superpowers in the show.
Just like diamond stealer was considered bad superhuman only because of her ancient tech rifle.
Expo '75 was huge in Japanese imagination, wasn't it? This space shuttle display was probably from there.
I'm really glad that the ants eating Minoru was as quick as in a cartoon.
In truth, this would probably have been a few more gruesome minutes of seeing a guy being torn apart slowly layer by layer in pure agony.
Will there be any episode that can surpass the GOATest?
That's how it always has been, even most popular children books have some casual gruesome scenes here and there.
Like how in Snow White, the prince kills the queen by making her dance in hot iron shoes for what she did to Snow White.
It's only recently that people started censoring this kind of thing.
Is this a Humvee in 1970?
That yellow jumpsuit. Bruce Lee confirmed immortal.
Hoshinoko must be stopped, no matter the cost.
Nope, no tears at all.
Kikko, you little skank.
I'm guessing 11 will probably be the space boy's episode, and then the last two of the cour will be Jiro leaving the Bureau, or possibly that space boy is involved in those events, which is also what probably leads to him joining up with Jiro.
