It looks a little better if you go fullscreen. Once you stop rotating it for a few seconds, the lines become less aliased.
I checked some of the non-anime models, and they were shaded by default. My bet is that the default is picked per-model by the uploader, and shadeless was chosen for these because it looks more like anime.

Search your feelings, you know it to be true, etc.
The only 3D fucking game I played was this game that had NTR in the title, but I never actually played the "main" mode, just the free play where I fucked Amane Suzuha among other people again and again.
Asuka so shit she can't even become 3D.
She doesn't deserve this suffering
I tried running it, but was too newfag to deal with it.
I'll give it a try again after watching this thread. The temptation to puppet-master my husbandos and waifus together is too strong to resist.
The most glorious time has almost arrived anons. Are your bodies ready?
I just got in the thread.
But it seems like the Oculus support from these games could be better.
Are these models able to be ripped and contained in a standard format? If so, I could just drop these into an engine and have them working in VR under just a few minutes.
Stop sexualizing saucers
Forgot everyone's favorite
I know that why it's not shown, it was /co/ tier face.
>Casuals are going to use VR eventually
>They will use waifus as a disposable objects
>You're waifu will get tainted
Someone could be doing you're waifu right now as you are reading this in VR. Maybe in the house next to you or in the appartment above you, you'll never know
Some of the models on the site are downloadable, but I don't know if you can rip nondownloadable ones.
My body is more than ready.
They're probably going to up their game once CV1 is released.
Doesn't matter. It's like driving the same model of a car. You aren't driving the same car even if the model is the same and they look identical. This will be even more apparent when AI and their personalities develop. Another example might be that picture using Miku to represent code but I can't find it now.
I see. The best way without disrespecting the rights of the authors is to just get them to make VR content, but that's kind of hard to ask of.
There's no need for the authors to build their own VR content, they're just modelers. MMD models and animations are already compatible with VR anyway, so you can build your own content from those.
What I mean is that they need to provide support, ideally, not necessarily that they need to build it themselves. We could have a lot of stuff in VR by now if every artist and modeler freely provided their stuff. MMD models are sort of the same deal, as without access to the assets, you can't do anything. There's just a lot of assets out there for MMD that are free, but I've encountered so many that I would have liked to get my hands on so that I could build it into VR. There's a bit of library/information science in this as well - since a lot of content out there just gets lost through various means if the author doesn't provide their source freely.
In that case I think you should make the most out of the assets you can work with in VR. There's no harm in using a lower quality model until better ones are available when you're just having fun with the tech.
I mean, that's what I'm doing. It would just be nicer if artists and such could free their content, especially if it's not going to be used or ever touched again. Think about how much potential great content out there is just left untapped and unattended to even by their creators. It's sad.
When can I buy my Oculus and live with her?
Unless you know how to 3D model a 2D character to look alright it's going to suck for you when there are no models of her compatible with VR.
It might be even worse if you could model her actually. You'd go through all the work to create her and constantly be forced to see your shortcomings. In fixing them you'd be reminded each time that all she is is a digital render. That's enough to drive a man insane right there. I'm not always happy my waifu is relatively popular, but I still think it's better than the alternative.
What is the actual state of VR headsets and waifu simulators to go with them?
How soon can I expect some? Do a few already exist?
>This will be even more apparent when AI and their personalities develop.
Maybe in 5 years.
This shit is perfect for really complex and intricate costumes. The details of such things are what brings the beauty out. I'd be interested more in looking at pimped out dress being worn than something like Junketsu.
Thought I'd be interested in looking at that as well.
The cutting edge of waifu sims right now is probably Summer Lesson, but that's currently a tech demo for an unreleased product. It will be a full game at some point iirc. On PC, there's MMD which is currently Rift compatible, but you have to set up your own waifu experiences with that. Your best bet right now for waifu simulation if you aren't technically literate is to wait until late 2016-early 2017 which is when we should start seeing consumer-level waifu experiences crop up. If you are technically literate, acquire your nearest DK2 (or wait a few months for CV1), download Unity and http://www.okayamamazoku.com/oculus2.html, and get to work.
I can't read moon, just what is this?
I've seen some MMD videos but I had no idea it had the capacity to be a waifu simulator. Are there any MMD artists who've released their work for use by the general public or at least those who have Rifts?
Not him but,
Doesn't CM3D2 also have Rift support? Also Illusion games IIRC.
Also this fag is a perfect example of what you're talking about doing: https://www.youtube.com/user/MAMMHON
>Rift-compatible MMD sex sims are already available
Not him but Reddit.
No really, it's on a sub called oculusnsfw. You should see a thread with a list of compatible applications and in there should be a few MMD stuff.
The Oculus reddit was actually one of the best places on the web to discuss VR. Maybe it's less so now though since there's an influx of new users from Gear VR launching. But it's still the most active, at least, and of course it's basically the best news feed for VR things.
To be sure, I don't like the current state of oculusnsfw. It's flooded by live action porn companies trying to sell their "VR videos." It's no longer the place where OC was king and fun. It was great when it was just us enthusiasts mucking around with dev tools. Things have changed since then.
Are there any other places with a better community even if it isn't so active? Even if it is nearly empty I imagine such a forum would still be pretty up to date with the most important of developments and have a bit higher quality of discussion.
For VR nsfw CG animated content? Probably not, at least to my knowledge. It's such a small niche in a niche in a niche in a niche (set of people who have a dev kit, then want nsfw content, then want animated waifu type content, then who have the ability to use the dev tools).
VR discussion is the highest quality probably on Oculus' own forums. The most active about news worthy stuff would be the Oculus sub.
>It's such a small niche in a niche in a niche in a niche (set of people who have a dev kit, then want nsfw content, then want animated waifu type content, then who have the ability to use the dev tools).
This is what sucks about it really. And it's probably why, despite my serious interest in it, it's still been difficult to find an active and quality community to get information from. It'd probably be easier if I knew moonrunes.
I sure hope the community expands at least a little in the near future and there's more widespread interest in this sort of thing
You and me both anon. One day, we'll see the light of day.
At least DOA:X3 VR and Summer Lesson should be pretty big releases to garner interest in this area.
Or just acceptance of VR in general. People just don't know they want VR yet, and even if they did, it's hard getting access to the hardware. Everything will fall in place in the coming year or two.
Actually now, I think it's inevitable. It will happen. The hardware just needs to get out in massive numbers and people just need to be aware that this is something they want and are able to get if someone develops it.
That actually looks pretty 2D
>the coming year or two
Is it really that close? What should happen in that time frame that will bring the waifu era closer?
And VR should be a massive hit when it finally gets fleshed out and touched up a bit to make and sell in numbers so that the general public can all experience it at a reasonable price. I personally can't wait for Sim Cafes and VR Arcades to become a reality. Japanese salarymen renting a headset on their day off to escape this reality
I was a part of that first wave. In fact I pre-ordered the hour it went live. What actually happened was that Amazon didn't get their shipments until later, and only then did they start saying it was a simple matter of having no stock rather than that people had started getting their packages shipped. No one knows how much supply they had either. Also, Amazon has stock now I think, from the last report I saw.
But I do think it did very well. A lot of people love Gear VR for what it is. But at the same time, that still represents, like, a small percentage of the population.
The Oculus Rift is officially slated for the big release in Q1 2016. So is the HTC Vive. Sony PSVR (formerly Morpheus) is Q2. Samsung Gear VR just launched. All of that will solve the hardware scarcity problem, and increase demand for VR, and consequently VR content across all genres. It will probably not blow up into mainstream or anything so soon, due to requiring either a PS4, or powerful PC, but it will be enough to kick-start the whole waifu genre for people who do have such things or are willing to get them. I'm pretty sure there could be an unannounced project or two doing it right now and waiting for demand to grow.
I think VR will do more successful than we think, however. It's just such a new and truly exciting platform who those who have even the slightest bit of imagination. I don't think I've seen anyone walk out of a Rift/Vive demo and did not think it was worth it, either. The experience is genuinely satisfying enough no matter how limited one might think the tech itself is.
>animu made with unity
Well, that sure would be a historycal moment.
The moment we are entering the real waifu age, humanity population will be in danger.
>implying the technology to upload our consciousness to a digital network and live eternally isn't just around the corner, relatively speaking
Humanity is not in danger whatsoever. Humanity will achieve Nirvana.
>does this shit
What shit? You mean sketchfab?
Why would a simple model viewer on the web support Google Cardboard?
>If yes, I'm buying one.
One what, Cardboard? But Cardboard is so much worse than the DK2.
>I played with the oculus dk2 and it was still meh, too pixelated.
Cardboard depends on your phone, but it's still shit no matter what resolution your phone is (because resolution isn't the only thing that makes the device work for VR). I think you need to do a bit more research anon.
