>Gaen talks for 9 minutes straight
I understand it's monogatari but that was too much, especially considering Gaen a shit.
Owari started so nicely, but the abrupt and stupid end of sodachi arc and shinobu mail ruined it. God, it looks so bad comparing it to bake and nise (especially shinobu and her awkward mouth)
For Owari 1 ending, "mystery" aside, I just wanted it to not imply that Sodachi situation was somehow easily solved. Maybe it could have had the "you need to want happiness" discourse from episode 5 as the conclusion instead.
I enjoyed this episode though, though they reused scenes a lot.
Everything is happening so fast.
Even if you hate your mother, a 17 years old girl should be affected somehow if she discovered the truth,
not just "oh ok, my mother was dead all this time, I was denying it untill now, I'll be happy from now on, thank you and goodbye araragi"
That didn't make any sense
That was what I complained above, but it might have just been Araragi's unreliable narration. That or maybe Nisio or Shaft wasn't sure they would continue Monogatari after final season so he felt the need to give her an implied "good ending".
Regardless, having something less important in the last episode than in the previous one make it seem like that was a big deal for Sodachi, while it was just something for the three other characters to do.
Before complaining about something not making sense, try understanding what actually happened instead of making it up. There was nothing about her becoming happy. We don't even know if she thanked Araragi.
Why the fuck does Gaen always take swipes at Oshino? He is a cool uncle who protects the Araragi and saved the lives of the girls by giving them instructions. I mean Gaen is really coming off as a bitch.
Another note would be I wish more info would be dumped on who Oshino is and how he grew up to be who he is today.
Agree. This is how every episode goes.
Flashback from past episode
Talking with characters having not moving showing their eyes or head only
Girl talks about the situation explaining it to
Mini fight happens here or near the end of the episode.
Araragi by showing slow mo of her arms or head twitching.
Snap. Fan service or detailing a feature on their body.
Episode goes back and forth with flashbacks.
Girl reveals something very important.
Sprinkle in some wtf backgrounds and no one else in the episodes besides those characters.
Rinse, lather repeat.
Bestu animu eva faggot!
Something about her is not right in the head. I mean, child abuse does cause mental problems, so her not caring about "hey, I fed my mom's corpse without realizing she was dead" is logical. Either that or she's so broken it doesn't shock her anymore.
>why did Tsukihi get replaced with a phoenix before Kiss Shot got there?
>why did Kiss Shot go there in the first place?
apparition man drifted to shrine 15 years ago because
it was his home village
Tsukihi becomes the phoenix apparition a year later and we dont know of any earlier apparition incidents.
Kiss Shot is a beta bitch and gets drawn there so she can fuck her husbando.
I like it.
Ougi is spooky even in Himouto form.
It was two years ago, give me a break. Not everyone is newfag watching whole gatari in one go.
waiting months for last 3 Bake eps was hell comparable only to Kizu
Don't forget the BIG TWEEST that the reason so many oddities show up in araragi's town is because DUN DUN DUUUUUN that was the town that Shinobu and cocksleeve samurai used to hang out in and so there's like spooky energy everywhere
You idiot it also explains how he kept regenerating and how his ashes scattered to this city. With his ashes coming to the city, it caused all the apparition to come forth. It finally explained why all these girls had freaky powers are conveniently in one city.
Can we discuss Shinobu's choice of undergarment?
Am I the only one who loves even the long ass dialogues?
Post lewd raragis.
No. There would be something wrong with you made it to Owari and disliked them.
Gaen's 9 minute speech was much longer than anything we had before, and most of it was vague and just repeating the same thing over and over.
Worst character giving a shitty speech. Go figure.
I forgot it as well, until I rewatched Tsubasa Tiger. It makes a lot more sense now.
It makes sense that the best girl wears the best type of underwear.
Well, we got confirmation of no-pan again.
But I agree, it could have been so much better.
And by better I mean band aid better.
>Wigger past her sell date
She was, is and will remain worst girl. deal with it, anon.
Do you think Gaen gets off on knowing what everybody else doesn't know? I know I would.
I don't see how pooping would be a problem.
Rouka's was longer.
It really is this pretty much, it's such a joke people call it high concept and masterpiece tier material. It's also just gone on what like 8 installments now though you've seen the number of advocates for it really drop off to pretty much only a select few idiots mostly operating out of MAL. Maybe enough people are just finally getting tired of it growing out of it as it really hasn't changed or evolved much since 2009. It's very teen pervert oriented as well really.
I directly blame Monogatari for getting 2010s anime off on a really bad track with its hit status. Now you have even more aimless droning fanservice series trying to ape it's stylization and tons of cost cutting. It's not the sole reason but IMO a big one so many late night anime are so fucking boring and full of shitty charters and ideas now and a template for how to please enough idiots while keeping costs and overall effort low. The fact that it's one of the most successful shows ever on Blu-ray just goes to show how far gone this media and it's current target audience has gone.
It's super easy to make, super profitable and an enlightening example of why anime and it's target audience is kind of extra shitty nowadays and few in the mainstream take it or them seriously. I remember back in the early 2000's when stuff like Bebop and Big O were airing on cartoon network, Pokémon and Yugioh was exploding among children and it almost seemed like anime had a shot at mainstream status finally after all these years and then ADV and the licensing market folded only to get replaced by Aniplex and their shitty otaku bait stuff priced way out of market range that could never in a million years hope to make it to TV aside from SAO. It's pretty much all up to Attack on Titan these days.
Why is this droning repetitious dialogue so popular and praised nowadays. Like Isin is largely seen as a genius dialogue writer by this series fans and yet I've only ever been able to come to the same conclusion people have with this episode that a lot of it is just waste to fill time. I swear this series fans have to be like this most gullible people ever to not only tolerate this but equate it with genius and make it into a best seller. I'd call it the Twilight of anime but it doesn't seem like quite the same thing.
It's also a pretty big fuck you to shows that actually try that it'd always considered one of the best things in any given season and a per rental chart topper. No wonder anime is in the shit hole it's in with stuff like Monogatari and Fate at the top of the pack.
I guarantee you Monogatari fans gave this segment a standing ovation after its done and are praising the seiyuu somewhere. To me it's like most of the cast hates being in this show though. Everyone always sounds so bored dispassionate and droning in their dialogues. Even Hayamin who always seems to be engaged in any role sounded like she'd been lobotomize playing the Doll character last week
How long before all Aniplex anime are homogenized to imitate the droning dispassionate, repetitious and convoluted pseudo-philosophical muttering writing styles of NisioIsin, Gen Urobuchi and Nasu. You can tell those are their absolute favorite writers in the world and that their fans will eat up anything they write or is written like their styles and I swear they're trying to make a formula out of it if God forbid they can't always get them to write directly or don't want to pay them if they ask too much. It's really noticeable in stuff like Saekano and this season's Subete Ga F Ni Naru.
>Even Hayamin who always seems to be engaged in any role sounded like she'd been lobotomize playing the Doll character last week
Stop being such a tryhard autist. She's playing a reanimated corpse you faggot.
>don't like the long ass speeches
I sure hope people don't do this
I could watch her show off all day
>completely devoid of content
>completely devoid of content
This is a joke, right?
Monkey shenanigans > Bat shenanigans.
This is clear.
>devoid of content
>literally talking about the relevant story of the current arc
anon please stop
This episode was fucking great.
Izuko actually playing along with Kanbaru's dirty jokes, taking the name Oshino and confirming Yozuru is stronger than Seishiro were all mag-fucking-neato.
> very little exposition in the first 2 episodes
> a lot halfway through
This has been happening in almost every arc anon. Are you fucking retarded?
First Character introduced, then problem appears, then there is a long dialogue/monologue about the backstory of the problem/character and then they fix it.
Like every fucking arc.
If you're going to complain about "content" read the novels and experience the "content" as fast as you want.
try to tell me everything she said in 3 sentences, while maintaining her condescending tone and her playfulness
>watching a show called Monogatari
>complains when people talk
There were much more useless talks, when they talked about sex, panties, feet and whatnot in this arc already, but if something that's actually relevant to the story goes on for longer than 5 minutes you're complaining about it? If you have such a short attention span go back to shonen shit or something
let's be cereal, would the exposition have been so poorly received if it was coming from someone else? Gaen's hardly significant enough for people to remember what she does other than wear a style that's been dead for 10 years.
This episode is going to do wonders to my Gaen folder.
Oh god that first 2 minutes was probably the best intro to an episode yet.
Seeing Shinobu eating that thing was soo cute lol. Oh god ARARARARAGI UR SO LUCKY!!! TO GET TO SEE SHINOBU UPSKIRT!!!!! Damn Ararargi laughing to recreate that scene in earlier episodes was a good treat. I started laughing along for a while.
I love how whenever we see Gaen the sky is always in that color. There was important dialog being held at the moment. Also a lot of talks about the past. Makes me realize that having Kizu next year was the perfect place. W.e you wanna speculate about Shaft I think it was more intentional than anything. The PV for kizu served enough info for this make sense visually.
Tbh this was a very well directed episode and the art and animation looks extremely well. Probably my fav in the season because it drops so many clues and hints to whats to come and what has happened. As she said it was very vague but its obvious that it will all connect in the end of the arc. The ending scene was done beautifully as well.
Not every arc has 6 episodes idiot.
Crab, exposition at the end of 1/start of 2
Snail backstory on snail in the middle of 2
Monkey back end of 2/ start of 3
Only cat had the exposition at the start.
Bee end of 4/start of 5
Like fuck I don't know how this is surprising.
Bat had made a servant before araragi 400 years ago who then tried to kill himself. It didnt work because he is a vampire, he kept on trying for a while and 15 years from now he came to araragis town. Fuck you, you is dumb :^)
>but it was somewhat budget animation ep so they repeated same info which isnt good
This is the big part. A lot of it was even information already stated before. There were very few relevant sentences that actually mattered. It was like watching a recap episode with Gaen, the shittiest person to ever narrate.
If you don't like exposition and compelling dialogue take your Plebian tastes and short attention span elsewhere and go watch shonen action Naruto or Bleach and talk about them on Reddit.
Is this show actually good beyond girls? It would be my first anime, and I like paranormal stuff, but it looks like it will turn into a haram, which sounds boring and not good. I can watch other animes but it is hard to find them and if this one is good then I do want to watch it.
People hate Gaen because they can't enjoy watching someone be right.
They're going to rage when they animate Koyomi Dead and Gaen brings the thunder and tells
Kiss-shotto nut up or shut up.
Smug never gets old. If it did, batfags wouldn't be a thing.
I don't want to watch naruto though, I've only heard bad things. I'd like to watch this, but only if I get the a-okay from someone, because I don't want to waste my time. Is it just a haram shit thing?
We all have to start somewhere
if you didn't like this episode you have shit taste, sorry. Gaen's monologue was the first time some of the foundational problems in the background have been brought to the foreground.
I don't even dislike Gaen, but I do want to see the story advance in a timely manner. having nearly half the episode be Gaen yap about a relatively small topic is pretty brutal. Several episodes during this season have been lots of talking, which is fine, but hopefully that talking is about new stuff, and not just "well yeah he lived and eventually came back here."
But Bat is not just smug, she has a large expression range.
Gaen only has one setting. Even Ougi managed to show something other than pure smugness.
Actually I was being sarcastic but there are plenty of people, mostly teenagers who can barely string together a coherent sentence, that truly believe this. It say a lot about the target audiences standards that they think Isin is gods unending gift to dialogue.
I'm not so new, I do not want to watch boku no pico.
It is because I know a loser who is my friend and talks about all the different animes he watches, and he always talks about how bad the harams are.
That is a shame. Fanservice sounds fun but haram seems like it will not. Do you know of any other good paranormal animes?
This is probably the longest arc of the series to date and it feels like almost nothing has happened. Tons of shows manage to do more in an episode than this is probably going to manage to do in half a cour by the time it's done. They'll probably just leave all the resolution to the last episode like what always happens in Monogatari and people will eat it up and praise the genius of the staff yet again. It's like KEY writing, it cannot fail with it's target audience, all it has to do is exist and they'll just sing the same praises every episode, every arc and every season about how only Monogatari can be this compelling with just dialogue because ????
I'm seriously starting to think the Monogatari fanbase that posts online are just AI scripts linked to a handful of accounts.
But Gaen has multiple levels of smug. She hasn't even gone into MAXIMUM OVERSMUG yet.
She also has condescending, patronizing and insulting.
She is effectively the most honest person in this entire series.
I think Gaen would be sorta in a rough position if she showed too much kindness anyway. With the position she holds within the world, she needs people to fear the power she holds since people can mistake kindness for weakness and I doubt we'd ever see Gaen asking Yozuru to drop a guy off a building to get a point across.
> Gaen yap about a relatively small topic is pretty brutal
>a relatively small topic
>the essential question of the reason for the entire premise of the show is a "relatively small topic"
I want Ougi to put her sleeves close to my erect dick.
Then, I want her sleeves to slowly descend over my erect manhood so that I can feel her soft, pale hand stroke my dick as I ejaculate all over the insides of her sleeves.
I don't want to see her hands though.
Oh okay, sorry for being autistic. But yeah, people in this thread think that because monogatari revolves around dialogue it's okay for it to be done poorly. It's an LN adaptation so I already know not to expect much, but it's pretty funny how people think every sentence must be some literary achievement of storytelling solely because it's monogatari and written by Isin.
Everything she said was relevant and necessary for the import the last three minutes had. If you can't deal with people talking for a long time drop the show; it says nothing about the quality of the show that when it spends a long time talking about important, plot-relevant, well-written and directed things, you find it boring because there's no action happening.
I find it boring because the majority of the stuff is already touched on, or known to the audience. It could easily be said in a third of the time; and while I do generally enjoy Monogatari arcs, most of this season has been relatively the episode-to-episode, with large swathes of monologues about things you already know.
>Everything she said was relevant and necessary for the import the last three minutes had
No it wasn't. It was literally a recap of a bunch of stuff the viewer already knew, plus an additional piece of new information thrown in.
Gaen finds a way. The fact she outsmugs Shinobu is an example of that.
that's really hard to say, would depend entirely on your tastes. People can hate things the majority of /a/ thinks are fantastic, and they're not wrong.
I really liked Gatchaman: Crowds, Psycho-Pass, Junketsu no Maria, Fate/Zero, and tons of other anime. But we're not the same person, so my tastes: meaningless.
At this point I swear its remaining audience outside Japanese otaku doesnt want to admit they've wasted five years of their life following a hollow style over substance series that probably could have covered all its story relevant material in 2 maybe even one cour. Overall this is the first time I've seen where there seems to be a growing concensus that its worn out its welcome and could stand to end. Its brining little new to the table, its not getting any new fans and seems to just exist to milk Blu-Ray sales off of lonely otaku and be cheap and easy to make. I remember back when Bake aired and it was kind of unique and everyone just seemed to rave about it but now I barely see anybody talking about it and only the idiot shitposters seem to still think its anything special but dont even talk about or discuss it like they used to with Bake. Its like everyone with half a brain already realized what it actually is a low effort low budget cash cow.
>Badmouthing any of the anime I listed
The second guy, sure. Death Note is self-masturbatory and stupid, but the first arc isn't terrible.
Code Geass is a fun show.
Watch them if they interest you, don't if they don't.
>Giving out recommendations at all beyond hentai an shit shows
>especially to a newfag like the guy you're responding too
Holy fuck you utter newfag, get the fuck back to reddit.
/a/ is dead.
It basically just presumes that Monogatari can never have wasteful dialogue though if that's the case why is the charge coming up more and more especially this season where I even see long time fans feeling unsatisfied. The Monogatari fanbase is kind of fucked I've noticed and seems to want to drive away or drown out anyone that will tell them the things they dont want to hear or frankly admit
>I already got my recs
>mfw he comes back 2 weeks later complaining "/a/" has shit taste in anime.
>caring what other people think
>not taking an opportunity for pushing your anime choices on others and hopefully stopping them from having completely shit tastes
i know this is a hellish shithole full of hateful antisocial people and all, but we are here because we like to discuss our shared interests, and there's nothing wrong with helping a lost kid once in a while
okay, quick question, do you think I should watch code geass subbed or dubbed? I've been told you should always watch subbed, but I also heard dubbed can be good from other sources, so I'm just wondering if I could get advice from the lord of anime?
>This is why the board and site have gone to shit
You should explain to me why giving some advice to newfags shits all the board up
I can assure you newfags aren't the ones creating waifu wars, fucking around with maymays, or shitposting in general if that's what you're talking about
The first lesson to getting into anime is don't listen to what anime fans have to recommend on the internet. I'm kind of lucky cause I got into it before the fanbase got overrun with LN/VN waifu otaku that worship half baked writers and concepts. I could never get into it nowadays for the first time if I was going based off of what people said were the best shows cause I'd just assume it was all horny teen oriented drivel with the odd action scene and convoluted droning and largely nonsensical dialogues. There's still some good stuff out there but its mostly OVAs or stuff not being followed by internet fans that are demonstrably socially stunted from growing up on it and a diet of crap like this franchise. My suggestion would be look for shows with low viewer counts and middling/few reviews. It usually means the idiot internet fanbase aren't paying attention to them and theyre probably decent because they lack the usual stupid shit LN style anime fall back on.
But you're wrong, you fucking retard.
Let's go over the rules.
Global Rule 16: All request threads belong on /r/ unless otherwise noted.
So, nothing violated there.
Let's move onto /a/ rules, then?
Pic related, oddly enough I don't see anything in there outlawing asking for recommendations...
So perhaps you should fuck off back to rebbit you fucking retard.
>You should explain to me why giving some advice to newfags shits all the board up
Not that anon but this is the dumbest thing I've read in this thread and there are Snakefags in this thread.
Both are fine (for Code Geass). Usually people would say watch Subbed, but in the case of some exemptions the dub is actually fairly good.
A few such cases being Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass, Ghost Stories (especially this), Space Dandy, among others.
A lot of time dubs have very poor/flat performances, and are shoddy, though.
No the anime fanbase is just full of idiots now, everyone with a brain either already fucked off to better mediums or is just enjoying sharing knowingly in the joke. All the good creators are either dead, already retired or have their foot halfway in the grave and have largely been replaced by people from the eroge industry who only know how to write for socially stunted otaku like Butch, Maeda, Nasu, Maruto etc. The only holdout at this point is fucking Mari Okada.
>It would be my first anime, and I like paranormal stuff
Probably not the best first anime to watch. It's a great anime for full-on weebs, but probably not good for starting off. I'd recommend Code Geass
>Code geass subbed or dubbed
Zero sounds like SHIT in the dub. Sub all the way.
>Asking for recommendations outside of /r/ is a bannable offense.
GTFO. We're a friendly, newbie-inclusive community here on /a/.
We're the anime fanbase,we are hostile to the idea of new fans and concepts and do what we can to drive them away with the help of top producers. We're the best
This is why this fanbase is dying and stagnant as fuck.
Your power level isnt high enough, you wont like this
Wow you're an idiot, it's not about driving away new fans. It's about driving out shit threads asking the same question every hour from /a/. There are a million resources to help you get started watching anime out there, /a/ is not one of them.
>citing /v/ boogeyman or rebbit for every dissenting opinion
I don't watch dubs (for the most part), but if it is done well, then you should support that in such a case. It's fairly agreed upon that what I mentioned were well done dubs.
Making a recommendation THREAD is against the rules. Making a post asking about anime recommendations in a thread isn't.
>There are a million resources to help you get started watching anime out there, /a/ is not one of them.
Indeed. It's unfortunate that most people these days would rather ask and have things outright handed to them instead of just using fucking google. It's really not that difficult of a concept.
someone asks a question and ppl reply, then faggots like you start shitting the thread up with the rec spam and crying how /a/ is dead
why cant you just ignore it and shut up?
More like, autists responding to him/his respondants derailed the thread. Your post isn't helping re-rail the thread. If you'd just ignore shitposts/off-topic posts, they'd decrease in frequency.
In reality, the disagreement between people over Gaen's speech is what derailed the thread, not that there's even much to speak about in the thread.
Did I miss a thread? Is there another thread where this webM got posted or something? I thought I'd see this posted at least 10 times by now.
I was actually asking about this anime, and replied to one person asking them if they personally had a favorite, because it would be my first. I haven't posted in a while now, it's just faggots fueling eachother.
You're blaming the people trying to preserve the rules and order on /a/. How about we blame the piece of shit that broke the rules and most likely purposefully tried to derail this thread in the first place.
>/a/ complains about Monogatari having pseudo intellectual bullshit
>somehow likes Kaiki who is the biggest spouter of claptrap in the entire series
Bunch of faggots. All of you.
as if araragi would consider seeing monkeys boobs as anything special
Anon, please. My son is NisiOisin and he promised me on my deathbed we'd get Kanbaru nipples since we were shafted in Hanamonogatari even though we got an entire bathscene with her and they will most definitely not give us any Kanbaru nipple action in Koyomi Water.
Because if they've been here long enough, as they claimed, they'd not fucking respond.
If they hadn't pulled all their boogeyman shit out, maybe people wouldn't flip their shit out. Their retarded responses only seek to elicit shitposting, and they should know better. Hence the whole "Report and Ignore, Move On." argument.
Can't we just have some PEACE PEACE instead of arguing?!
Ah yes, the "just ignore it and pretend it never happened," tactic. Enjoy your naruto threads. Enjoy your future daily rec threads that will be enforced. Hey if you're lucky you might even get the sticky you've always wanted!
doll is better when undressing than when she spouts catch phrases
Why would we listen to a liar? She said she would never have another posed look again and then she had another posed look.
I don't think she actually wants peace. I think she wants war.
All I see is that you people are nothing but shitposter enablers. You don't actually care about solving the problem so you're content with ignoring this or that up until the very last moment when you realized you fucked up and let the mods spit in your asshole and rim you in favor of the shitposters. They've already set a precedence, but you seem to want to repeat it ad infinitum.
If nobody responded they'd just resort to other tactics, like asking for recs and then responding to themselves to incite more shitposting. If you ignore it it will only get worse and more obnoxious.
Even after she chose Yozuru over me, stopped saying that favourite line I loved and then killed me. I still love her.
>If you ignore it it'll only get worse
Next thing you know you'll tell me that's how it works with Tripfags
Though they'll probably just samefag themselves by posting without their trip
But again, if you don't want this thread derailed, stop fucking posting off-topic/meta yourself and just post on topic.
Sometimes you have to break the rules to protect those you care about.
How do you think Kanbaru feels hanging out with the guy who's literally dicking Senjougahara every night, while she''s all alone fingering herself to Numachi's jacket?
My post never complained about intellectual talk. Those are just the most interesting and likeable characters, Kaiki in particular. It's not a coincidence that Hitagi end is Monogatari at its best.
>>literally talking about the relevant story of the current arc
Yeah, between all those empty filler lines there was some content. Not sure what the other guy is going on about.
Was still pretty bad, though.
Anon, you don't have to be afraid. They aren't going to cancel the show just because some people don't like 50% of one episode.
So calm down. You don't need to defend the show that much.
Completely. Owari 3 spoilers.
The North Whitesnake Shrine was moved from its original location: the lake that Kiss-shot obliterated when she jumped there. There's a park there now. It's neither Kouhaku nor Namishiro, the correct reading is Shirohebi, "white snake."
How is it this hard for retards like you to understand that there can be both good and bad versions of something?
Do you have brain damage? Is one still frame where somebody holds a monologue about priming material for 2 hours still good if it's called Monogatari?
>Did I miss a thread?
Yes and it's still up. But you are not smart enough to find it, anon. That's not good.
>le edgy contrarian
You should know not to watch Monogatari if long dialogues aren't your thing.
There's no excuse. This is like the 8th's season.
Just go somewhere else where there are more retards like you.
Everybody will be happier for it.
No it's full of people who have seen other anime communities/forums out there with their terrible posting quality and don't want /a/ to become like them.
Also there is a shift-key on your keyboard. Try using it sometimes. Maybe until you notice that you don't belong here.
>doesn't give a fuck about rules and customs
>just acts however he wants, since he clearly owns the world
>gets called out for it
>ohh, all those mean and evil people who don't love me the way I am
Yeah, why would anybody dislike you, your mother told you that you are a special snowflake after all.
You should kill yourself.
You would know how wrong you are if you weren't new as shit.
Please also kill yourself.
Okay, I'm missing something important in the story when I read the spoilers a long time ago.
- Ashes of samurai guy drifted back to Shirahebi shrine
- Kiss-shot being a vampire felt a connection to her lost minion so she went back to Shirahebi
- Araragi's town is also the town where Kiss-shot first met the 1st minion
- Darkness also manifested in Shirahebi shrine
So did samurai guy accidentally cause darkness to respawn at Shirahebi shrine and darkness helped him recover? Or am I missing something else? AFAIK, Kiss-shot mentioned that darkness only appears when there's apparitions around and apparently Darkness is stuck to Shirahebi shrine only.
So, with that said, Araragi did cause the sudden spawns of apparitions all over the town because he formed a connection with Kiss-shot and Kiss-shot being Shirahebi's past goddess, resonated with this connection and caused the manifestations of apparitions from people that are close to Araragi
and Araragi himself also got one
So was Araragi really supposed to be the one factor that ties them all?
>fucking around with maymays
Yeah, that's mostly /tv/ and /v/. Fuck them too.
And no, insulting them is all that is needed. If you want to know something that basic you either look it up yourself or lurk more.
>This is why this fanbase is dying and stagnant as fuck.
That would be nice. Also "fans" in the west are pretty worthless to the anime industry as a whole (which is a good thing in my opinion, if I wanted to watch stuff with western influences I would be on /co/ and read lady Thor), so if you want to save something pick up your savior complex and chain yourself to some tree.
I'm not saying people are mean or evil mate, you misunderstand. I just asked one guy what his favorite was, people gave me shit animes. Everything else was other people fueling eachother. I'll apologize right now though, didn't mean to derail anything.
>why cant you just ignore it and shut up?
Because people like you would ruin this board and yes there is still plenty of room for it to get worse.
You retards don't think when you act, you probably don't even notice how you are dragging down the quality of all the places you frequent.
I'd rather have a bit of conflict than just sit back and "tolerate" everything like a retard. Because nothing ever gets better from people just sitting there and ignoring things.
>let mods to do the "preserve the rules and order"
Those kind people have been way to lax/inactive on here for the last couple of months, so self-moderation is now more important than ever.
Was them looking for janitors just a ruse and they didn't pick up anybody?
Anon, retards exist. There isn't some master ruseman behind every single idiot on this planet who is just pretending to be stupid to get a rise out of you and driving those people away is important.
There are many people who don't go to /a/ because we are all "angry artists who hate fun" and I'm grateful for that when I see how they usually communicate.
Maybe you should lurk more.
>Gaen gets screen time.
>She's just reiterating what happened in the past, and repeating several times how the apparition killer survived.
I think I liked watching Monogatari better when I was just marathoning already completed series. Waiting a week for filler is a bummer.
>all this autism about Gaen's monologue
>watch the episode
>typical monogatari words words words
Wow it's fucking nothing. You fags sure love to blow things out of proportion. Did you go full sperg during the first episode too?
it's different with what Gaen did. she just repeated a simple explanation over and over. there was no hidden message to what she said, it was really just somebody explaining a situation and trying to be 2deep4u.
also it's the longest a single character has talked in the entire series, she went 9 minutes and 2 seconds without anybody else making a noise. she was even doing most of the talking before her speech.
Im noticing a trend of faggots who diss the show about words words and fanservice but they still come to these threads asking what happens. Not really a shit show with no storyline if you still come here asking questions. You're just a shit person with shit attention span who want anons to spoonfeed because reading is hard. GTFO
>without anybody else making a noise
That chapter of the novel was entirely Gaen monologue from one paragraph to the next, without any Araragi narration. There were two chapters of this back in Onimonogatari, one from Gaen and one from Shinobu.
However, other people are indeed talking during this, Gaen responds. It was the same in Oni.
>a character asking a rhetorical question means that somebody said something
we dont hear anything, I dont care if you think its implied that somebody said something (which nobody did) it doesnt change the fact that we had to sit through 9 minutes of only Gaen speaking.
You seem to like using made-up words. Some real-life words you could have used to not sound like a retard include, but are not limited to:
Why was the Shinobu voice acting so shit this episode? It felt really weird, at times when she looked like she'd raise her voice she just spoke normally, it was especially weird in the intro to the episode.
Yeah I noticed that too. I got really confused and thought they were doing some in-episode outake where the voice actor forgot she was supposed to be in character but they just kept on going.
Literally this episode
Yeah, but that wouldn't bother you if you used the good catalog.
Also that thread has way less problems than this one, so maybe not properly naming your thread might be the way to go.
I think it depends on how the monologue is done. Episode 5 was mostly Sodachi monologue with just a couple pauses and it was done quite well, both because it was entirely focused, organized with no redundancy and very emotional, delivered by great VA performance. This one had better visuals but it did have a feeling of being things you already knew both from the story so far and because the monologue was circular, which could also make you miss the things that were actually new.
I did enjoy this episode overall at least, and I don't think it was worth all this reaction.
I'm not gunna overreact, but I felt like I was about to pass out at the end of this ep. It doesn't help that I don't like Gaen's attitude but even then, like you said, Sodachi's was focused and not redundant. This felt like a lecture.
>I'm not gunna overreact
>but I felt like I was about to pass out at the end of this ep
What a cutie.
I dont dislike snake, she is nowhere near best girl though. the only characters I dislike are Numachi and Gaen.
I bet youre waifu is senjougahara, faggot.
Did Gaen's tablet break immersion for anyone else? Everyone's been seen using flip or slide phones since Bake aired in 2009, and all of a sudden Gaen-onee-san whips out her slick 2012 technology.
I do like Cat. She is middle of the pack.
The thing that caused all the apparitions and shinobu to come to town was the samurai himself. He's the first servant of a legendary vampire so he's pretty damn powerful.
Araragi got dragged in when he encountered kiss shot.
You also have to realize that Japan still has a lot of people stuck on flip phones. It took a long time for iPhone to get traction there, and it's only in the last few years' explosive growth that it's gotten to the ~70% it is now.
Whereas there wasn't really a tablet market before Apple created one (in 2010), so seeing a tablet alongside flip-phones really isn't that odd.
Oh wow, this thread. Between people complaining about infodumping, the other faggot copypasting comments from MAL and you idiots taking the bait and derailing the thread into rec shit, this is truly the best thread ever. Go kill yourselves.
But yeah, not a good episode. I enjoy long monologues and it was nice to see Araragi doing shit other than acting as a punching ball, but the Gaen monologue, although not empty content-wise, was nothing more than a rehash.
This may have been addressed already in the thread, but was the darkness following Araragi around in Second Season Eps. 17-19 the ashes of the Samurai?
The problem was that the talking heads actually repeated itself multiple times in the conversation.
Which may actually happen, and does often, we as the viewer find it unsettling and lazy for it to take that long to get to the fucking point.
Damn, I keep hearing this ost in the series but can't recognize it at all. This song was also used at the beginning of the previous episode before the opening. Is it new composition for Owarimonogatari? I thought I heard it before though.
So let's see if I have this all correct, as it's been a while:
The Samurai is Shinobu's first servant. Unlike Araragi, he has always hated her because she unwittingly turned him, an exorcist, into the very thing that he had dedicated his life to destroying. At some point following his resurrection, his cognitive dissonance results in him committing suicide but not before he makes a copy of his sword from his own flesh and blood and bequeaths it to the master he hates.
It's further stated that in Kizumonogatari that, although he is also Japanese, the only common point he has with Araragi is his nationality.
Assuming I didn't get anything grossly incorrect or leave anything important out, I have some questions:
*Does he only have the one sword despite being a samurai?
*If the one possessed by Shinobu is a copy, what happened to the original of his sword?
*Why did he leave his sword to the master he hated?
