Remove the audio stream you don't want from the container. There are several great tools with GUIs for people not comfortable to use the command line. mkvmerge is good for that sort of thing.
Rather easy and doesn't take all that long. You shouldn't have to re-encode the file either.
If anon is using mpc-hc, yeah. That isn't an option for people who do things like watching content over those tv-media server things which are really popular, portable devices, etc.
