Also the romance was actually felt between Chi-Chi and Son Goku. I'm a stickler for the original feeling and Goku really should adore his wife. He could have married food or Oolong instead but he went with her.

I understand it was a controversial decision at the time, and a lot of people wanted an Asian actor, but as an Asian myself, I'm actually glad they chose Justin Chatwin to play Goku.

Also the "Goku x Chichi romance of the movie was lame and basically a lesser versin of Gohan and Videl's "romance" ( in fact the "Goku" in this movie is basically Gohan) and there is NOTHING in this movie that is on the level of Goku and Chichi's first meating in Dragonball or when he proposes after fighting her in the tournament. Fuck off!

I remember laughing at that part where they're looking for Master Roshi in the phonebook and Goku is sitting there eating chicken or something and says, "Did you look under Master?" That was one of the only parts where he really felt like Goku to me, and it stuck with me. I haven't seen the movie since it came out in theaters but I remember that line clearly.

By the virtue of Dragonball Evolution's low quality, it lit a fire under Akira Toriyama's ass and made him start writing comics again, specifically related to DB, due to how bad the film was.

Jaco, Minus, BoG, RoF and now DBS are all thanks to how thoroughly Hollywood fucked DB as a live action film.

Irregardless of what anyone thinks of Toriyama's newer work, it's worth noting that DBE must have some some serious dick to make someone like Toriyama, who seemed to want to wash his hands with non-gag manga completely, come back with a vengeance.
