Christ, why. If you're translating you're expected to understand the language, not look up every single word and dictionary your way out of it. Actually you're not even looking the words up, you're literally asking a machine to do all the work for you because you don't even know fucking kana.

I didn't even look at the other replies before writing this but I guess it's just fucking common sense. No wonder there's so many garbage translations these days.

The anime adaptation is airing next season and no one has started translating it yet, so I (an amateur) might as well as try it out as practice.

I mean, the chapters are 4-8 pages long, there's no need for much redrawing since it's a webcomic, and the script seems to be simple enough, how hard could it be?

Now if one of you more professional dickheads finishes translating before I do I'm gonna go buttmad.

I still have the issues from 2015/2014 and some from 2013. I'm not sure if they still have all pages, but most should be complete. I thought about scanning them bit by bit as I've got some free time. The oldest issue I have is No. 12 (2013.1.30)

And wikipedia Japan says

The 2013 ones are either not for sale or are expensive, from what I saw, so if you have any oneshots from those, it'd be appreciated if you can scan them. The site that I referenced didn't list any oneshots for the 2013 issues (or it didn't label them as such).

Let me know which issues you already have, because I was about to buy some 2015 issues in the near future (1, 3, 5) and 2014 (6, 10).

I'll keep scanning. If a issue is missing pages I'll tell you.

>>
>>134019162
when you have high res and quality scans that has too much noise
>>
>>134021782
Not him, but let's speak about all the reasons why lots of people don't want these (in particular) to become generals. More threads means more presence. Being up often means that we get more outsiders who can find threads easily. It means more resident tripfags, as if there aren't enough already. And people want to avoid the cocksucking like the rest of the scanlation community, which is the only reason these threads are tolerable.

If people want to establish something permanent, they should probably do it elsewhere. /a/ has enough fucking generals and it doesn't need to be any more of a target than it already is.
>>
>>134022274
What other generals are there anyway? Only on I've seen recently is the rwby shit. I thought /a/ was usually pretty good at avoiding them.
>>
>>134022274
Scanlation threads tend to actually be productive though.
>>
>>134022752
Generals can make anything stagnant. If someone has a question or an update they can start a thread themselves, there's no reason to have one up all the time that's worth the almost inevitable tripfaggotry it will unleash.
>>
>>134022880
People already complain when someone makes a thread just to ask a question if it's been less than a week or whatever arbitrary time they think should pass. If there's no pleasing them, I don't see the point in even trying.
>>
>>134023130
People will always complain about something, that doesn't mean a straight up general isn't still a horrible idea. I could even see it working every other day, but constantly having one up is always a terrible idea.

Just putting this here for the archive (weird sentences are to pick up keywords I used when browsing through the archive):

After trying to find a good scanner for under $200, and after finding no definite answers on 4chan, I managed to contact a scanner directly, who recommended me a particular model.

I bought the Epson V550, as he said Epson was "the Golden Standard" of photo scanning. As far as I can tell, there is not much differences between the V500, V550, and V600, besides production year and special processing options and filters during scanning. As manga scanning is best with vanilla RAWs, I just bought the cheapest, the V550.

The V550 DPI depends on the size of the object being scanned. The maximum DPI for most doujinshi is 2400. For Jewel Case covers, 3200 DPI. Scanning in 48 bit color also reduces resolution. It takes a few seconds to scan at 300 DPI, a couple minutes at 1200, and several minutes at 2400.

The bundled software performs well in "Professional Mode." All filters can be disabled, and the image can be output to JPG, TIFF, PNG, PDF, and more.

The images are crisp and free of artifacts. An example is the attached image, which was scanned at 1200 DPI, with not filters applied. The only flaw is that lining up the image with the side guards clips off a small chunk of the image facing the guard.

V550 Pros
>Relatively Lightweight
>High DPI
>No banding, abnormal artifacts
>Software outputs to lossless formats

V550 Cons:
>Awkward Power Switch
>Aligning image with side cuts off a bit of content
>Slightly Noisy
>Bleedthrough (use black construction paper)
>>
>>134022472
Kantai, Monmusume, Precure, Yu-Gi-Oh, SnK, Tokyo Ghoul, Jojo, /ai/, Yuru Yuri and probably One Piece. These are up almost 24/7.

To a lesser extent, maybe Gundam but it's not really sustainable. Love Live fags have taken it down a notch, but they're not any less full of cancer. There's a bunch of borderline ones and ones that aren't 24/7 but are just as bad like Madoka has been.
>>
>>134023130
The complaints aren't without a reason. It used to be that these threads get made once in a few weeks and there will be robust and lively discussions. Every since some people decided to make a couple every few days, scanlation threads have been the absolute opposite of robust discussion and pretty much follow this pattern:
>15+ posts later, discussion dies
>about to fall to page 10, someone makes a post to bump it
>another 10+ posts
>about to fall to page 10 again, someone makes a post to bump it
>another 10+ posts

It's disjointed, barely a coherent conversation at all. It feels like it's alive just for the sake of it, rather having a concrete purpose; that is, the thread being there because there are people wanting to keep talking.

But whatever, seeing all the generals (that swear they aren't) all over the board, it appears that I'm of the minority now so it's irrelevant and I'll just take it easy and let people do what they want.
>>
>>134023693
I like to think of the anime and manga community rather separate. And it's true to be honest. Mangafags probably whip more people in to shape than our anime counterparts. It's part of the reason there are still OPT despite rec threads being deleted. But what the fuck happened to 3x3. I remember when it wasn't a huge circlejerk, but that was also when there were just manga 3x3 threads (of which there are literally none).
>>
>>134023693
My personal opinion is that I won't make constant threads myself, but if I see one up I may as well use it instead of letting it die so someone can feel better about themselves for not being part of a "general."
The OP absolutely can't be a thing though, anyone who needs those links has no business anywhere near scanlation.
>>
>>134023805
