Spoilers here (unconfirmed) >>133993587
We have a VA for Bakugou >>133999530
>Bakugou will be voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto aka Accelerator from Index.
>Not mentioning best girl voiced by Okamoto
I'm just pictuing abdul saying with his booming voce
>WORRY NO MORE
>FOR I AM HERE
and it eems pretty glorious.
Also the trolling level of all might saying
>and then, and then?
to bakugo and deku will be awesome as fuck.
>Yuuki Kaji hasn't been announced for Mineta yet.
What's the hold up.
>YES. AYE. AMU.
>You know you want this.
Okay. Nozaki is the main character of the manga/anime, and he's a shoujo mangaka. He based his heroine off Mikorin, the guy in this >>134001574 pic. He's also really adorable.
Looks straight out of a fucking manga.
I meant to say horror manga, shit.
Rape my face, etc
>Not this qt3.14
It's quite terrifying how perfect it fits.
Nigger Clover hangs around the middle rankings way too much to have too much thrown at it. Of the battle shounen with the most straight-forward concepts that HASN'T gotten an anime/etc it was either BnHA or Nigger Clover and only BnHA has really risen to the top.
And this is after the latter getting a bunch of color pages and shilling.
BnHA is getting the hype-train now but man if you look back it doesn't look like there was a lot of faith in it even after a strong early showing.
They somehow have to keep Nigger Clover alive, after all WSJ is going to loose AssClass, Toriko, Nisekoi and Gintama in the next year.
But their shilling is outstanding, Nigger Clover received the highest number of Color Pages from all mangas in 2015.
Horikoshi has always struck me as a mangaka in the same heart as Yūsei Matsui.
Yūsei has a gigantic hit on his hands with Assassination Classroom. Like huge. It prints money in every section of the market that makes the most money.
Almost anyone else would have the series extended and milked at gunpoint by their editors, and Yūsei is like, "Nah, I said one class year and that's it. It's done."
Dude is walking away from not only "never work again" money, but "work on whatever you want and publish it yourself" money.
Horikoshi put his foot down on All Might's design and a few other things, and only relented in giving Midoriya a quirk because in the end he felt that'd be more interesting.
When he thinks it's done, Horikoshi will end it.
At this point HxH is basically a legacy series like Berserk. They should just work out a deal with Togashi to just draw up a tank at a time and release them with huge fanfare for a price markup since it'll be "new" stuff to read instead of just "All the SJ chapters collected into a book for easy reading".
The idea was originally that he'd be Japanese Batman pretty much. Obscene amounts of pre-planning and Xanatos gambits and eventually support equipment.
The idea of Mei being Midoriya's gadgeteer and having a bigger part in the manga feels me with longing but I like the whole "growing into the strongest superpower" thing that's going now.
Do you think that if it gets famous enough, we'll get a "what if" spinoff in jump square?
Nigga I actually want it to take off so BnHA won't be milked to death instead.
Not like milking BC will make it any worse.
Uraraka would be severely injured, at the very least.
Without an advantage of his own, Deku would be forced to play second to those with advantages: the providers of his gadgets, the Quirks of his allies, the innate flaws of his enemies. A world that has a Quirk/normal ratio of 4:1 presents a oppressive premise.
>How would the series be nowadays with a quirkless Midoriya?
Yeah, when i first started reading the series I assumed Deku was going down the batman route, and was kid of dissapointed with the fact they gave him a quirk.
Once I learned that the quirk itself handled like bag of steroid abusing Tasmanian devils at 5% effectiveness, my opinion changed pretty fast. I may not like all of horikoshi writing decisions but damn if he doesn't execute all of them really well.
I dunno about alternate universe spinoffs since that's not something I'm used to seeing, though it WOULD fit the whole thing where BnHA is a huge homage to American Cape comics. I like it, and wouldn't mind seeing it happen anon.
If there's ever a major spinoff it wouldn't shock me for it to be class 1-B.
I actually read Nigger Clover and like it well enough but for all of the "IT'S GENERIC!!" that BnHA gets thrown at it, Nigger Clover is the most blatant Naruto clone ever made.
Did you know that the original concept for Naruto was wizards instead of Ninja?
Black Clover was pushed for the same reason it's disliked on /a/. It's pretty much every single shounen cliche imaginable put into one series (and unlike Fairy Tail, it doesn't have buttloads of fanservice so it really has nothing going for it). Logically, compared to the weird Western-inspired manga about superheroes, Nigga Clover is the better bet.
They were wrong of course, but I'm sure that was the mentality.
I'm not even saying that BC is passable, but anons are still being childish.
>They are going to milk MHA
>You know what? They should milk BC instead
>Yeah, fuck BC
>Guys, don't worry, BC is mediocre, they won't get anything good
>Why BC have more color pages than MHA? I hate BC
>Fucking BC being pushed instead of the manga I like
The lack of fanservice I think is just because it hasn't gotten really rolling yet.
We're how many chapters in now and like everyone female character that spends more than a minute talking to Aster wants his dick despite him being like 4 feet tall. I can't help but wonder if we'll get an Ippo moment where we find out he's packing at some point.
Tsunderemage wants him, NotHinata wants him, Tender-girl he had a date with for 5 minutes wants him, all the lolis want him, Aster just has mad game apparently.
Did you read Horikoshi's comments on his original idea?
OfA wasn't even a thing before changing the plans, All Might wasn't supposed to be a recurring character, he would just push Deku's dream and then leave.
>>Guys, don't worry, BC is mediocre, they won't get anything good
>>Why BC have more color pages than MHA? I hate BC
>>Fucking BC being pushed instead of the manga I like
Well, it's kind of a fair assessment that BC got a metric shitton of color pages and pushing inside Jump despite it getting smoked by MHA regularly.
Also it's just fun to make fun of.*
*BC is my guilty pleasure just fyi. MHA is my current favorite Jump property.
So, about that upcoming 1 Week Forest Bootcamp Arc. How could that be made to be 1 week of hell? Will class B take part in it? Will that Rock Giant villain who was introduced 10+ chapters ago appear there?
I'm glad Deku didn't become one of those WSJ protags who isn't the most popular character
I just can't help but read all of All Might's lines in Apollo Diomedes voice
Editors: What is this All Might guy, he looks weird why would anyone look up to this guy? Change him to something more normal.
*first popularity poll, the dude "no one would look up to" is 5th*
The Nips did good on this. US poll however proves we have superior taste still.
My sides have left this plane of existance
Todoroki, Bakugou, and Midoriya are all of the fujo picks for boy-on-boy action.
Kaminari is the preferred solo-jacker and female clothing cosplay character for fujos.
Because he have a
Will MHA forever be dominated by the fujo fanbase? I hate that this series feels so hinged on maintaining their favor. By it's own merits, MHA is a great series on every front you can think of, so it's disheartening knowing it could easily face cancellation if fujo decide by some sort of cosmic force that they no longer like the series and migrate to something else. /a/ please tell me my fears are unfounded and MHA will be fine, with or without fujo.
I like futa;
but there's a certain limit
horse-cocks are a big turn off for me
>Will MHA forever be dominated by the fujo fanbase?
Sadly seems it's going this way. There's more fanart with Deku shipped with Bakugou or Todoroki than him shipped with Uraraka or Tsuyu.
You are searching the wrong parts of the internet, senpai.
yeah, here's the result.
9.Mei Hatsume (tied)
9.Mina Ashido (tied)
US clearly have the superior taste.
Here's the US Poll results:
1. Izuku Midoriya
2. Tsuyu Asui
3. Ochako Uraraka
4. All Might
5. Katsuki Bakugou
6. Shouto Todoroki
7. Fumikage Tokoyami
9. Mei Hatsume (tied)
9. Mina Ashido (tied)
11. Gran Torino
12. Momo Yaoyorozu
13 .Hitoshi Shinsou (tied)
13. Tenya Iida (tied)
15. Denki Kaminari
16. Eijirou Kirishima
17. Minoru Mineta (tied)
17. Tomura Shigaraki (tied)
20. Shouta Aizawa
As I said, superior taste.
I'm not even sure how the physics of this work
I mean, anatomically speaking smiling(?) like that would be impossible
and he doesn't look like he has a Glasgow grin
I- I don't really want to think about it anon
That brief moment of confusion is priceless.
that's how this author draws smiles or open mouths most of the time. the thing is that due to this more "realistic style" it looks hella weird.
that being said i love an artist that tries different artstyles for different characters.
>Ayumi, what's Whitesnake's 9th Album?
>I-I don't know...
>Slide it in.
Help me, I'm dying
This is the closest I've got.
That she is, it's almost a shame Deku doesn't have a sister.
Character design, people find her character design appealing at first glance. However in the Korean and Japanese fanbase her popularity quickly diminished due to her being unimportant.
As for that the American poll, well Froppy and Stain fans bombed the shit out of it.
She has a really good character design and was a total bro during that one arc she teamed up with Deku and Grapes. But that poll was taken way earlier before it became clear she wasn't a main character. Still pretty popular in the fanart crowd though
Not as much as she used to be. Now Ochako trumps her easily in terms of fanart volume with the other girls set to get up to her level soon.
So yeah the new shine is wearing off.
Not really, Hinata was the likeable and comfy love interest to the retarded bitch main heroine, Tsuyu is the likeable and comfy side character to the likeable and comfy main heroine. It's a win-win situation this time around
Probably has to do with some kind of gas or fire. I think either he or Dabi is going to fight against Todoroki.
Actually, what do you guys think are the matchups going to look like? I think Yandere vs Ochako is pretty obvious, but what else?
I hope she learns to 'fly' at some point, a superhero universe needs a healthy amount of flyers.
>Yandere vs. Ochako
that would be kind of cliche wouldn't it?
token girls fight;
I'd rather have her set up against Iida
she wants to become Stain so she's going to finish what he started
she and him might also have a similar quirk;
Scans when? are they taking this long because of the recent legal shit?
>Horikoshi actually giving the ship developement at a steady pace and not just a meaningful glance or sentence every 100 chapters
He's dealing with the romance aspect pretty good for now
Not sure how Horikoshi was able to make all the girls in this series so great. Right now it's a struggle between Tsuyu and Jiro--has been for a while actually-- but Ochako is definitely in my top, right after Mei.
>Himiko vs. Uravity
>Himiko vs. Grape Juice
>Himiko vs. Deku
>Himiko vs. Tenya
That all the speculated matchups so far? All right, place your bets folks. My money's on Grapes.
I have the feeling that Horikoshi is a big enough nerd to know about the kind of cliches he should avoid. He's been avoiding the Girl on Girl fights so far and it might've been on purpose, it will happen eventually of course but hopefully it'll be driven by the plot and for the plot, and not by a random number generator that happens to put two girls against each other.
On top of that, up to this point, Ashido, Tsuyu, Momo, and Uraraka have kind of displayed they can hold their own in a battle. Ashido seems to have great athleticism and an affinity for hand-to-hand combat. Uraraka might be up there, too, now that she's received CQC training from Gunhead. Tsuyu seems to be the all-around fighter. Kind of a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none character. Plus, Horikoshi seems to have made it clear she'll be more or less playing a support role. Momo has a great deal of intellect and has the potential to be a great strategist. Not to mention, her quirk is pretty high-tier. Round that out with some quality CQC, and she'd be damn near unstoppable. Hagakure is definitely espionage/support. Jiro is definitely long-range. Likely to fall into a support role, too.
>Wanting text to obsucre the art
FUCKING RETARD ALEART
>>She's gonna think he hates him
>>Deku being selfless as always
>Oh no, Uravity things Deku is cheating on her with a rotting corpse man.
God dammit NO. I HATE this trope.
Isn't it something along the lines of this? Horikoshi does this quite often actually.
I've spent the last few minutes trying to run this through google translate and I've found out that
I fucking hate the Chinese holy shit use a real language with real letters instead of this bullshit REEEEEEEEEEE
Don't bother. The text is fake. Somebody is avin' a giggle.
>Are so close together
>And your love interest
>It's a guy!!!
>It's not like that!!!
>Sweetheart please let me explain
I'm pretty sure it's already done and so are the rest of the WSJ series ishuhui does. They're just delaying the release to not draw unwanted attention.
so, she thinks he's gay now?
>it's okay that you're like this Deku
>but you could at leat have some higher standards
>I am sure someone like Todoroki-
wow, this is awkward I'm- I'm just going to leave
kek. That's do good. I was thinking the word "affair" seemed weird for this situation. Well played, chinafag. Well played.
Uh bro, in case you haven't noticed, everyone else in the class is pretty tone in one way or another.
Deku's more muscular than Aoyama, Kaminari, Crowbro, and Grapes, which really doesn't make him prime stock material.
That was him bouncing in his balls.
Thinking about that, Can he use his balls to propel himself? Since they bounce off him, could he put some in the ground and stomp them to jump really high/far?
You're a massive fag.
Plenty. Welcome to the fold faggot
Tosh really need to collaborate with another artist to do a doujin? I mean, the guy had been producing fap material years before Soma was even a thing. And good fap material at that.
Most of the boys in the class are pretty ripped in general. Shit, most of the girls are. They're training to be pro heroes after all.
Deku will likely end up built like a brick shithouse and be more impressive than the others as he continues to train (probably with acceleration from using One For All) though.
Is this manga edgy like tokyo ghoul? Some panels look edgy or have this gritty art like in the OP. Some characters also look edgy like dude with half white half black hair that was on the cover on a volume. If so, what chapter does it get edgy?
>Hands just sitting there with his hand wrapped around Deku's throat
>in a crowded mall
>no one calls security
Now that I look at it, so does mine. What the fuck, Viz!
Y'know, I never really thought aboit it before, but FMA is actually kind of edgy when you take a step back
>The Elric Mom monster (and human transmutation in general)
>Envy being a huge monster with dozens of people feeling constant pain
>Father wanting to deatry the world just cause lol
>Scar is a few steps away from being a stereotypical edgy antihero
This probably goes further but I'll stop myself before I ruin it for me
Looks at that smile. Who wouldn't want to protect that?
And here I thought that he was more handsome than his prototype.
But that's wrong. Tsuyu still dominates fanart and in regards of the manga recognition.
She's basically MHA poster girl at this point. Here's a example.
I don't know, anon. She still gets a steady influx of fanart. Plus, I thought she was pretty awesome this past arc. We even have definitive
fuckfacefor her now. Who wouldn't want to do more fanart of her after that?
Ochako has potentially OP abilities with a very clear "progression" route with her being able to make weightless more and more weight. On a shounen narrative level, I'm just expecting Ochako to remain on the spotlight longer than Tsuyu. There are a lot of late game scenarios they could use Ochako for.
People say this but I still see no proof, why everyone seem determine that Tsuyu votes were spam but not Deku or Ochaka when then same thing can easily happen to them as well. Even on the dedicated /a/ poll Deku was still more popular than tsuyu.
On potential alone, the strongest characters are:
Conceptually, Ochako and Momo have the most OP abilities but I don't know if Horikoshi will ever get too Jojo-style "laws of physics" with them.
>>Kouda - able to summon 3 of the 10 plagues of Egypt.
>>Sugar-man - sugar intake increases strength while sacrificing cognitive function with no apparent upper limit. Horikoshi can easily make him the Hulk of the team.
I really like Suger-man quirk. it's a 5x multiplier.
Meaning while at first use his strength goes up by 5x (1*5) but if he use it again before his time limit expire then that mean his power increase even more (5*5) making him 2500% stronger than his base form. Of course his brain will be function out the window but that mean Horikoshi basically can make him into a three minute raging Hulk if he want to which I'm hoping he does.
God why do I want so many minor characters to take the spotlight? I can't believe that theres 20+ students (if we're also counting Class B) who are all so interesting. I want exposure for all of them.
If you guys had Ginyu's mindswap ability would you use it to swap with the first Noumu?
The problem with the kids so far is that you have two kinds of powers amongst the kids:
1. Relatively generic "output" powers that have nebulous limits or limits defined by the current physical/mental strength of the user. Midoriya, Todoroki, Bakugou, Kaminari etc. They all have blowback past a point but the POINT is that they can go PAST those limits if needed.
2. Powers that do literally one thing and nothing else. Sero makes tape, Mineta has his grapes, Shouji has his arms and base strength, Tsuyu has her frog traits, etc. They only do what's specified on the tin.
So basically, when we get to fights with the badguys you are limited to:
1. Villans who are strong enough to challenge the kids with the powers that have ever-moving ceilings like Midoriya, Bakugou, etc. Even half of All Might's current strength/hardiness would let Midoriya dust anyone in the fucking class one on one. Bakugou can always make ever bigger explosions with the reasoning that "hey he got tougher" or if he's willing to start fucking his body up. Same with Todoroki.
2. Villains that are specifically hard-countered by the specialized kids whose powers can only get "stronger" as they find more creative ways to use them. If you had say, the Grapist or Sero fight anyone one-on-one it would have to be a villain who could actually be defeated or restrained through use of their powers so you gotta either put something in the environment for them to use, or make the badguy's power hardcountered by theirs.
3. Team fights where the more specialized kids can synergize their powers to defeat superior opponents.
All of this leads to Goku syndrome where as Midoriya gets stronger and stronger the kind of badguys needed to challenge him will be WAY out of the league of most of the class, which will make the rest of the class seem like they're relegated to mook cleanup detail or fighting weaker badguys who just so happen to be their opposite number.
It's already been addressed that what we think is there power may change later one.
So grape's power could turn out to be more than just the balls, Tsuyu could end up becoming a butterfly, etc.
>Even half of All Might's current strength/hardiness would let Midoriya dust anyone in the fucking class one on one
not super related, but didn't all might say he's working at 1/100th of his full power output?
plz no. The frogposters wouldn't be happy if their waifu got replaced
I don't know if he said that specifically, but All Might has specifically said his power output is going down.
He said he could've taken down Noumu with 5 punches in his prime, but it took hundreds to do so now.
And he's only getting weaker. And yet with weights and a severely limited max time to use the fumes he's running on, he kicked the fucking dogshit out of Bakugou and Midoriya- no selling a point blank shot from Bakugou's bracers which have been proven to blow up buildings.
Once Midoriya figures out how to toughen his body with OfA and use more than 5% of it, he's going to be an absolute shit-wrecker and the quality of the badguys will have to go up or he'll have to enter all his fights handicapped somehow.
Oh, I know he wouldn't. I was just saying in general if he did something this outlandish, it would raise a question mark. Despite popular opinion, I don't mind power-up/new abilities as long as it deals with the theme of her base quirk. Nah, but I trust Horikoshi, despite MHA still being not much longer than a year at present.
They also did us a solid by showing peak all might in the first chapter so it likely wont get more ridiculous than that.
I dont want to have another one piece "oh but they showed shanks using haki at the start" bullshit thing.
Yeah well he didn't crack the whole island in half now did he?
Well, we've never seen peak All Might actually.
Remember, he's half-dead in the first chapter. Maxxed out at 3 hours of hero time, and weaker than he has ever been due to his injuries at the hands of All For One.
And the power gets stronger between bearers, so Midoriya WILL be stronger than All Might once he maxes out.
>MC being held captain and need to be rescue by a girl
Fucking really? How beta can you be?
We don't know that because that information isn't supplied to us, likely on purpose.
All we know is that 10g of sugar increases his physical strength by 5x for 3 minutes.
I did a quick Google search and I can't find the limit to how much glucose you're able to absorb in a given time. But assuming his physiology allows him to absorb every gram, he can easily become the Hulk for 3 minutes.
>He said he could've taken down Noumu with 5 punches in his prime
People really believe this. He was boasting, you believe that he was above 100% too? The OFA wank is annoying, it's not like you know the limits of the other Quirks, which can even evolve.
Well, Stain definitely killed the shit out of this dude, if that's the case
I'm a Tsuyu x Deku fag, but I wouldn't be butthurt at all when--because let's face it, there's no ifs on this one-- Deku x Ochako happens, I'd be perfectly fine with it. I actually like that pairing, too. Also, why do people think Momo's a lesbian. I haven't gotten that vibe at all.
Well they're thoughtless in that body, with a mind swap ability it might move something into your body.
There's nothing saying it wont be noumu's original personality.
former, because the fujo contingent have their headcanons based entirely around Midoriya being the reluctant top to a power-bottom Bakugou or being in a tender loving relationship with Todoroki.
Or just every male in the cast running a train on Midoriya because
As always it could be a mistranslation but his power seems to stack in duration, not effect. Taking 20 grams of sugar gives him x5 for six minutes, not x10 or x25 for three minutes.
has there ever been an openly admitted gay MC in a shounen?
And I said MC, don't bring out the "Bon and all of the other gay dudes from One Piece" or whatever
Like if Horikoshi had Midoriya come out of the closet as gay it'd probably make the fucking newspapers in Japan. Nevermind that he's dropping his spaghetti everywhere over the obvious female lead.
because fujos. This is not a thing I have made up- it is something you see a lot in fujo fanart. He's either a psychotic rapist or a power-bottom.
Enjoy a translated version of the latter!
Is there a gay MC in a shonen, period, is the question? Not sure why fujo expect this. If an author makes a series with a gay lead, then ok, but I would hope it wouldn't be for panderage sake. Personally, I have hard time believing a Jump manga with a lead like that ever finding success, as it stands now, outside of the fujo fanbase.
