I don't find /a/ that cute at all. Honestly, most of the stuff posted here is just recycled over and over and unoriginal in terms of "post format". Perhaps due to the 4chan - /a/ culture, but they get somewhat annoying at times too. They like to scream words in CAPSLOCK! because they too think its cute, but they're wrong. Cute is something more unique, designed to each individual. I believe /jp/ understands this the most.

Even with the Phantom Blood arc, the first season of Jojo is much, much better than Stardust Crusaders.
I prefer the Ripple to the Stands, but then everyone says that my opinion doesn't count because in the 80s the Ripple was dull and Stands were original (even though that is hardly relevent, since I doubt anyone on /a/ is a Japanese guy in his 40s who read PB as it came out), but you can't defend SC's boring cast, which is only supported by two characters from the previous parts.

That's the key thing, /a/ acts a lot more butthurt about it than the other boards actually. I'm not sure if they genuinely 'care' or if they're just trying to seem like part of the community by bashing on someone else, but having been here since ~09 I can tell a lot of things that are acceptable sometimes people just make it a POINT to derail threads with. Instead of reporting or ignoring, they just keep feeding the problem.

And that's how /a/ has decayed in class, in my opinion. You really hardly do this shit on /jp/ and pull out as much attention as you can easily do on boards like /a/, /v/, etc.

I liked Akame ga Kill. The reason why I think it is better than many other action shounen is because it actually had the guts to kill off characters.

One thing I dislike about many other anime of the genre is that the "good guys" always survive every battle. The good guys are introduced as the underdogs, going against the mighty empire or whatever the antagonist faction is, which is supposedly super strong and nobody has been able to touch it for centuries, yet the good guys kill off one member of the antagonist faction after the other without ever suffering any losses themselves.

AgK did depicted a rebellion much more realistically by showing either side suffering a lot of casualties. Many people were upset about this, they hated how the character they liked died, but I think it is good writing.

Admittedly there are lots of problems the anime had, but I still enjoyed it just because they had the guts to do something new in a way. And I am still very much enjoyed the mango to this day.

Tamako Love Story was boring, but Tamako Market was top-tier.
Aria hasn't aged well, and Tamayura is now the new Aria.
Kamina from TTGL is one of the most pathetic characters I have ever seen, and everyone riding his dick both in-universe and everywhere else just made me detest him and the series.
Kyoukai no Kanata was actually pretty good. The plot was lackluster but everything else was great.
Gunbuster was objectively terrible and the first four episodes where Green Green tier awful. Diebuster was leagues better.

I have spent at least 5 times as many hours lurking 4chan as I have watching anime.

When I actually do watch shows I tend to marathon them because I have no self-control and I'm afraid that I might miss something important because of the 6-12 hour time commitment over a day or 2 that each show takes but then I end up wasting every waking minute of my life here anyway.

But that's more of a neuroticism than an opinion so I should mention that Redline was boring and the QUALITY wasn't enough to carry it

Naruto is legitimately a good series in its own rightt. Every chapter contributed to an overarching plot that was well planned, and it didn't suffer from the arc-syndrome of other shounen. All the events that occurred actually fucking mattered.

Serial Experiments Lain and Haibane Renmei are both mediocre as fuck and the threads on here about them are comprised 90% of people /trying/ to signal their cool and obscure tastes.

Shin Sekai Yori is an under-appreciated masterpiece.

Ano Hana was legitimately heartbreaking.

The Monogatari series is legitimately "deep".
