Sen/Kaiki manipulated Karen/Yozuru to get what they want. Which in Senjougahara's case was a place for Hanekawa to stay and for Kaiki's case it was to send an Onmyoji with a 100% kill rate after some guy's sister because he's butthurt his kindness came back to bite him in the ass.

Now that I've read the post you were responding to, I have a different counterpoint: the most important thing that Senjougahara does for Araragi is anchor him to reality. She knows this and probably wouldn't get involved in exorcist shenanigans because then he would be liable to stop caring about his mortal life. Plus, she would lose part of what makes her special to Araragi and she's too insecure to risk that either.

Kaiki is basically the same diff in regards to the Gaen Network. Oshino, Yozuru, Teori and Gaen actively seek to deal with oddities. It's their livelihood. Kaiki just sorta runs into them and deals with it as it happens.

But yeah, the point I'm arguing is that if you took the Gaen Network and the roles in each. The Smart one, the Balancer etc as if it was an RPG of some form. Your game would end up looking like this.

Gaen: Hanekawa
Kaiki: Senjougahara
Yozuru: Karen/Kanbaru
Oshino: Araragi
Tadatsuru: Mayoi

The real plot twist is that because of Araragi, everyone who actively deals with oddity business would end up being Oshino since Oshino's influence on Araragi influenced everyone else.
Good thing that is as well. Hanekawa was on the road to becoming like best girl and committing mass good.
