The obvious ones were the pillar men modes, but also the other vampires displayed similar modes.

Both of them had totally unique abilities that were theirs alone.
Dio never made hair body spikes, or grew a second face. And none of the other vampires, or pillar men, demonstrated ice abilities.

It seems to make sense that those powers were granted via vampirization. however we still have no legit confirmation, since araki cannot into clearing up shit.

As for Tarkus and Bruford, it was said that they were zombies, so their powers were just carried over from when they were alive. Didnt it say that Bruford's hair ability is what let him survive that ring challenge?

At first I thought Stairway to Heaven would win because of its ability to speed up time and itself to near light speed, as well as causing the universe to complete it's first cycle, reverting even thing back to before the events of Part 6 but in a slightly altered universe. But apparently, all GER has to do is reset Stairway to Heavens speed to zero while punching it in the face, setting it's existence to zero, thus causing Pucci to lose his stand ability and experience death for eterinty, but always reseting to the zero point, creating an endless cycle of death like Diavolo. The only person that might be able to come close to GER is The World Over Heaven, but that is only if it has the power over all of time. This would allow it to go back in time and erase GioGios existence, thus eliminating GER. BUT then the events of Part 5 would never occur, possibly erasing the World over Heaven as well.

But if Stairway to Heaven sped up time to the point where the universe was destroyed and recreated, then that makes all the events leading up to Stairway of Heavens creation pointless. What was the purpose of the series if the ending we get is a different universe with altered characters. Why did I read all 752 chapters just to get that ending. Now they expect me to just go onto the next part which is in an alternate dimension that has no connection to the first or second universes of the first story. What is this crap man.

Set out most of the groundwork already, but how should I write it? Completely bizarre, satirical and self-aware (with some feels), or straightforward, played seriously and methodically (in-depth lore explanation on stands, used to forward plot), and with tons of feels?

Emporio's spirit moving the stand disk to his head to beat the invincible Pucci was a nice throwback to part 2's ending. Also part 6 had good characters, a great beginning, and was most bizarre part.

Part 3 takes place in the same year Araki started writing it but by the time it ended it was three years in the past. Parts 4, 5, and especially 6 took place in the future.

I definitely agree that Phantom Blood has a very classic anime touch and the relationship between Jonathan and Dio is one of the best protag-villain relationships across the whole series but the part is very derivative and that mars it in my eyes.

I get that it's very derivative of FoTNS in particular, but I don't know, there's just something that endears it so much to me. Maybe it's because I liked how pure hearted Johnathan was or that I liked the clever uses of hamon. It felt like an epic struggle, even though that struggle was indeed so very short.

Honestly fuck them if they're going for the slim designs from the get go (which they're most likely doing since this is key art for the first half). This is fucking gay man, it's supposed to start off really buff and then gradually slim down. Even then it's not supposed to be this slim. Look at Josuke, he's a goddamn stick compared to chapter 1 of DiU.

It's still grainy but the only redeeming quality I can tell is Koichi's fixed face so far. The rest is legit pissing me off right now. They did Part 3 transition of realistic to toon Iggy perfectly so I don't get why they'd go for skinny static designs now.

I know what you mean, while still supernatural Phantom Blood is more grounded and the struggle is more relatable. But I think the same should be said for Johnny's flaws and his growth.

SBR read like an rollercoaster, with moments of sombre, reflective downtime contrasting against dramatic tension whereas Phantom Blood was a short and steady increase.
