The dubs were pretty hilarious and I'm going to assume they altered the dialog so much was for localization. It seemed a lot more absurd than what the original Japanese dub likely was but I'm to lazy to check.
I saw the dub too, but I thought this was a straight up parody of Yugioh/ popular shounen shit at the time like fucking Bayblade or whatever that one was where they fought with fucking dreidels that had dragons in them. Is the Jap dub serious?
How much r34 of her
I'm pretty sure they went all out gag-dub on purpose, like Shin Chan. Was for the best, otherwise it would have just been another generic card game merchandising show. At least the dub was so ridiculous that it's somewhat memorable.
>at Best Buy (I think) with my dad
>Can I have a game please?
>Ok, pick one out of the discount pile over there.
>They all look like shit
>see pic related, no idea what it is
>looks cool, pick it
>becomes one of my favorite gameboy games
Best $13 I didn't spend.
Me and my friends would often play four-way games at school, and I used have a decent stack of them that I have long since lost. I remember being amazed by how much better the art on the cards was than any yugioh cards I had seen.
Fucking loved the game and the archetypes
The only card game I went to tournaments for. I got absolutely REKD but the last match was the worst. My opponent's last shield was LITERALLY the only card in the game that could win it for him, that light card that taps all your opponents creatures so they can't attack and then I lost
>that light card that taps all your opponents creatures so they can't attack
best card in the whole game
Overly overpowered card
Also post your favourite deck civilisation compostions
Mine: fire + darkness
How could we forget we got this one faggot who...
Oh there he is so uhm yaeh he keeps dual masters alive through his love for Mimi his dedication is second to none He loves his waifu
Unfortunately. The show was silly and never took itself seriously, which I wonder if that was its downfall
The game itself I still play, loads of fun, but the only support is in japan.
Fuck WotC for killing this off and trying to pull off Kaijudo, and fuck everyone who supported that piece of shit.
>Run a Nature/Fire/Water deck
>Only target Mana
That feeling when you successfully manage to have advantage in every single way.
Still not as cool as the Water/Dark shield trigger deck my friend ran however. That shit was amazing.
>Had access to the original DuelMasters manga that was based off MtG.
>fapped the shit out of Mimi then.
I swear gag mangakas drew the best semen demons back then.
I ran Light+Dark blockers+Diamond cutter decks. Would sometimes switch the content around with Ballom in it to fuck with my brother too who was the only other guy who played the damn TCG in the area.
>Felt like playing DM again one day so went to local card shop to see if they had any packs left.
>Buy whatever was leftover, shoplady asks me if DM was popular again.
>Tell her no and walk out.
the american/canadian dubs were different from eachother. the actual show was another yugioh/beyblade serious kids show about card games. The dub was great.
The card game was amazing, and is still popular in Japan. Takara T is good at designing games. Too bad WOTC/Hasbro are such pieces of fucking kike run shit.
Ran Nature/Water liquid people. Ramp into the liquid person double breaker unblockable and kill fast with loads of draw/bounce shield triggers. Did alright.
Yugioh copied Magic the Gathering and WoC hired Japanese people to adapt MtG for the Japanese audience what become know as Fuel Masters. So next time get your facts right.
It was funnier watching YuGiOh duels.
Mainly because the Duel Masters felt like two people playing a card game with rules, which isn'T as funny as pulling new rules out of their asses.
