Index and Touma aren't freaking strangers and have a special relationship. A cute loli acting selfish and jealous, but also worries and is affectionate is adorable. They are close enough to make such interactions pass as endearing and comedic undertones. You who take it at face value instead of looking at context has less ground to stand on than me.

It's especially amusing because "context" doesn't make Index eating all of Touma's shit and getting on his case about it later doesn't make it any better. Context would aid a situation like Othinus beating Touma outside the coat shop, because alone it looks bad, with the context of him both inviting it on himself by mocking her openly and being said to like it it gets better. No such context saves 70% of Index's scenes. There's Touma getting bothered by her getting flustered one time in Daihaseisai one time and that's about it. The rest of the time he just whines about it and gets mad at her for emptying the fridge and the like, there is no hidden "context" that makes it better. You're just biased because you think they're cute while I'm biased because it looks like she's being unreasonable.

Nice try though, unfortunately for you reactions don't mean there's no basis to the claims.

Except it doesn't because, despite his complaints, Touma doesn't really mind it deep down. The most important thing about their relationship is that he cares for her and so does Index who shows her sincerity during serious matters. Index's interactions that involves things like that are completely comedic, it is a gag to begin with and the whole point of it is to not take it seriously, which Touma doesn't and any idiot wouldn't either. The moe appeal here is amae, which Japan is big on. Go look it up, newfag.

And such interactions prompts lighthearted scenes, which NT14 illustrates best in how there is nothing to eat because of the freeloaders in Touma's house that eats up his food, much to Touma's chide.
