So, can we all agree that IBO is the best Gundam show ever made?
Mika will make Atra a mom when he becomes a more secure person.
You'll have to get pass through Mika first
Her hips seem birth-ready. She's just flat.
The Luftmenshen over at /m/ actually think that nafka Aida is better than our shayn Kudelia.
They're all meshuggene.
I hope he gets to interact with his waifu more next episode.
>Translater's note: nafka means whore
She has noticeable hips but no idea if she its really birth-ready since she it’s so small sized, well I guess if she manage to score Mika since he it also really small, genetically speaking they could produce small babies but genes are weird sometimes, I still think it could be dangerous
He could always wait a few years just in case she grows more.
>atra grows to be much, much taller than mika
>Unicorn is the best Gundam ever made
How old do you think the characters are? I rewatched some episodes and Takaki looks young and cute but he acts quite mature, same with Yamagi so I don't think they are that young, at least not much younger than Mika.
Best animation, best OST, non-CG, mature story and characters, great politics, etc etc. Everything you could want in a Gundam. In fact, it was so fucking successfull (200k-300k sales per volume, or was it 400k?) that towards the end a bunch of contrarians started popping up on /m/ and they seemed to have now spilled over here.
Just look at this shit.
He samefagged the fuck out of the other thread, each with a smug ass image like that.
Have you even seen any other gundams?
IT was at least 200k per volume, I know that much for sure. Either way it was immensely successfully, and when you count in all the Gunpla sales it was the most successful anime project ever created. Unicorn frames + sinanju + PG unicorn generated over a billion in USD.
This isn't exactly news, everyone knows how successful Unicorn was.
>According to Oricon's latest weekly ranking, the seventh and final volume of Sunrise's popular OVA series Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, which was released in Japan on June 6, tops both DVD and Blu-ray's general sales ranking selling 41,000 DVDs and 118,000 Blu-ray units in the first week
It then went on to sell well over 200k.
Will their kissu scene be this good?
This is the only exchange they had the past 2 episodes.
Is Okada even trying wirh this love triangle? Atra is casually dominating this battle.
>>We've been hiding the final clause of the constitution because it allows to opress spacenoids weehee
>>don't tell anyone or there'll be massive riots okay banana?
>>I will devote my entire existence to this woman I met literally yesterday
>>We've not spoken much aside from the fact that I was carrying you to earth so you could achieve your goal, marry me please. What do you mean no? Time to go on a murder rampage.
>We've been hiding the final clause of the constitution because it allows to opress spacenoids
Which is realistic.
>don't tell anyone or there'll be massive riots
Massive riots would be an understatement. Likely full-on war.
>I will devote my entire existence to this woman I met literally yesterday
Banana didn't really give 2 shits about Audrey, at least romantically.
Kudelia is adoptive big sis of Tekkadan now.
And since it's not written by Tomino, her brothers don't want to fuck her.
You want to go watch the first two episodes again? You know, when he declares that he'll do anything for her and just "needs her to say she need him". Also, the biggest issue with the last part, with the broadcast of the final clause of the UC charter, is that there's no validity to a single goddamn word Audrey is saying. The EF could say it was a prank, and that the first person to develop the newtype theory went on the develop what almost immediately turned into Zeon, some 75 years after the change to the UC calender. Another gripe is the Unicorn being really tech inconsistent.
You forgot the part where the entire evidence of this extra law is a stone monument etched by a computer using a laser which is easily copied or forged (and in fact was), and is in the posession of a guy with numerous factories and enough money to make as many copies as he wants that can say whatever he wants them to.
The whole issue was ridiculous.
And the whole thing where banana was actually one of Vist's children was unnecessary and amounted to nothing story wise.
Unicorn had some great action and fights, but its story is probably its weakest part. The novel did a few things better, but there's several times in the OVA especially where a character goes full retard for the sake of moving the story.
>People think Orga is hardcore
Uso literally fires a giant laser death ray and wipes out an entire fleet of people.
He fucking pulled that trigger and got a kill count to eclipse most other Gundam protagonists before he ever got his upgrade.
The problem with IBO is that it has no world building. Just a a bunch of lazy exposition about the blocks and the wars that gets repeated every few episodes but overall the show is lacking in a real sense of purpose and build up. Gallarhorn doesn't even feel as threatening as it should feel. The only thing the show even bothered to properly develop was "Mars' kids have it rough" but otherwise it's all pretty barebones. Nagai and Okada weren't the best show for a franchise that lives off autistic world building.
A new mobile worker that we haven't seen yet in anime.
I don't have strong enough feelings for it to say I hate it.
It is just that I feel it does so little from what we've been shown. there is such an interesting setting, but the failure of Director Nagai to capitalise on this is amazing. If this were a 4 cour show, I probably would not be so hard on it, but since it is a 2 cours show and we are 1/3 in, we barely know anything about our characters and they are ever further away from reaching their goals. We barely have any inclination of the larger plot points, we're still stuck on Tekkadan trying to get Kudelia to Earth.
Our plucky protagonist Mika pilots the Gundam, does whatever Orga says and munches on food. The one time he showed a shred of personality was when he got angry at that one guy on the farm.
There's so little characterisation for anyone aside from Orga. Since he's the leader of the team I guess he has the most showtime, but still it is embarrassing we don't have anything else for the rest of the Tekkadan folks. There is little reason to care for plight of the Martian people, we've barely seen them, we've barely seen how they live, we've barely seen their hardships. Oh I guess that one episode with the farm sorta counts? But we're constantly told "oh the poor Martian people need independence" but being told that over and over again does not make good storytelling.
We're supposed to root for Kudelia, but she's been a wallowing mess ever since she's shown up. she constantly feels bad about herself and her character just never seems to improve.
There's not even anything else to write about the rest of the female cast as they are so bland and cliche. The childhood friend is forever stuck doing cooking, cleaning and looking after kids. The other female characters that recently showed up are just part of Mafia-guy's Harem and produce babies for him. Thanks Nagai.
I just don't understand people who praise IBO as "Best Gundam in years" it is boring, cliche ridden tripe.
The whole plot is to get Kudelia to the Earth (they even have a movement pic that is called plot.jpg on the main website).
I wanna watch Gundam Unicorn but some annons posted me a big-as-fuck pic (i have it!! don't post it again!!) explaining all the Gundam series and told me to watch AT LEAST 0079, Z gundam, ZZ gundam and Char's revenge movie.
Question: Do I have to watch ZZ gundam to understand Unicorn? The description says it has nothing to do with Char or Amuro ray...
If you want to understand the little stuff they throw in for fans (like Amuros poster), then I would watch those first. The animation is outdated as fuck but watch it anyway, story makes up for it and you get used to it pretty fast. I recently rewatched it for the first time in a while and now I understand how the newer fans would struggle to get past it, it really hasn't aged well at all.
Nah sorry mate, Unicorn had some good points (Mineva, the continuation of the Puru storyline, the movie quality) but it was ruined by, something, I don't know exactly what, actually. I only know it felt cheap, long winded and then there's the whole Riddhe subplot. Aouch.
IBO is vastly superior in that it actually entertains me, at the very least.
I'll bite, but only because I want to post this gif.
towards the end when they're REALLY outgunned and he's still doing nutso crazy shit in the hyaku shiki is one of the best peaks of Gundam for me
but yeah anon, ZZ has a very different start, it's not very good, and it's nothing like Zeta but once you hit the halfway point or so (once they get to Dakar) it has some of my favorite UC action.
it's the most polarizing part of the franchise not named F91 though, just stick with it no matter what people say online.
I still haven't finished ZZ. I'm somewhere around episode 35 and for some reason I can't bring myself to watch the rest. Didn't stop me from watching CCC and Unicorn.
You'll be fine anon. The only things you need to know about ZZ are
>Haman Karn gets defeated in the end.Shocker
>a boring villain aptly named Glemy Toto created clones of a Newtype called Puru
He's one of the few Gundam villains consciously portrayed as a bitch and a loser until he's suddenly supposed to be the biggest threat in the universel
It just doesn't work.
He's like proto-Slaine, only worse.
UC turned shit the moment they started using new type magic to fight all their battles instead of skill
And I don't mean faster reflexes, I mean meteor stopping kamille potato magic
There I said it, fight me faggot
>Which is realistic
>Political document predicts human evolution
>Remove it 70 years before they are a reality so we can oppress them
Why the fuck should newtypes, a literal 1% of human population get priority to be represented in government, when in late UC they're already extinct?
His first gundam is the most underpowered since the original rx 78 2. He got a decent gundam more than halfway into the series, and even the fucking double zeta was more op than the victory 2
Well Kamille was still okay, because he was up against Paptimus Scirocco, who was also some kind of Newtype cult leader who could only be defeated by a watermelon slice to the sternum.
So it evened out.
He becomes a lot less cool when you remember that most of the clusterfuck of Zeta could have been prevented if he paid child support...
I never understood the praise and hate G- Reco gets on this site.It was a good series, but you have people claiming its the greatest Gundam ever or people claiming its garbage.
>Uso hides behind his super powered robot.
The first mech he piloted was a a fucking enemy test machine that didn't have spectacular specs that he stole by paragliding into his opposition and managing to drive a grown man out of the cockpit.
He then piloted the Victory Gundam, which was in no way overpowered and was constantly being WRECKED and only managed to keep functioning because the whole point of the Victory Gundam line was mass production and easily replaceable parts.
He survives multiple battlefields, adapts to space combat, fires a fleet destroying super weapon, and manages to escape the enemy NAKED after being captured to finally get his upgrade with little fanfare besides suriving exposure to SPACE WHILE NAKED thanks to his Haro.
Mika's more a special snowflake than him
It's impressive that he hasn't made a move on Hime and the maid yet.
This show makes me sad, because I genuinely only like /m/ stuff, and this show was built for you, /a/
You have everything else, but they still gave you gundam too
It's not supposed to be like this
It's supposed to be about the robots
it's an acquired taste, for example I'm sure you're still young enough that when your stepdad gives you a sip of beer you say "gross!"
but one day you'll get older and understand
No, this show exists merely to divert attention away from the real /m/ show that is airing. All the shitposters are attracted to it and ignore the actual good stuff.
It's a blessing.
I mean you get people who unironically think this show is "better" and more "realistic" because they have magic space armor that makes beam weapons useless when Gundam SEED did the exact opposite and it was still retarded back then.
It's a honeypot for shitposters to protect better series.
GBF was a good mix, super casual /a/ shit but tons of combat and a genuine focus on the designs of the suits because of the building premise
at least a more even mix, and the fan service helped it seem more, like some sort of toast point
