Obviously it was entertaining enough that I didn't drop it, also it helped that I had nothing better to do with my life at the time. I did like how they actually call out Hazuki for being the little loli cunt that she is that one time. They do bring up some good points that subvert things occasionally. But it was really all over the place in terms of settings and goals and just what the fuck was actually going on. Knowing absolutely nothing about the manga, I feel like it was probably trying to take 10 pounds of shit from the manga (that might have actually worked there) and shove it into a 5 pound bag. It was just too much. I still say Mekaku was worse than Mirai Nikki. Hear me out. Both were terrible and edgy as hell, but at least Mirai Nikki was just shitty Normie bait. Mekaku had a legitimately horribly put together plot, and even for SHAFT the animation quality was terrible. It had all of the problems with SHAFT and almost none of the good. Also as bad, nonsensical, and shitty as Mirai Nikki's plot was, at least it had a more competently put together plot structure than Mekaku did. Not saying that the plot was better, but Mekaku was more all over the place and ADHD with revealing plot details. In a more competent show the random flash backs could have been interesting, and added an air of mystery, not in this one. Really though, it's like asking if you want a long, confusing painful torture, or a quick swift one.

Fate Stay Night or Code Geass.

I've watched Sailor Moon and some Precure. Madoka was still pretty bad. I would probably enjoy Madoka more if I was "just plain up idiotic." I'm also not new, I think I've watched about a hundred anime over the last decade and a half. Not impressive, but definitely not new.

Madoka isn't THE #1 worst anime I ever watched, but this topic is asking about ones we watched all the way through. There's some truly reprehensible anime I only made it through 1 or 2 episodes before dropping. It's definitely the worst one I finished.

By the three episode rule it had one really good episode, one mediocre episode and one bad episode, so I kept it. I didn't expect every episode after that to be bad or horrible, but by the time I realize I should have dropped it I was so far in that I finished it just out of spite.

So many seasonal anime that I've finished the past couple years have been bad, and many before then as well, but even among them this takes the cake. I don't know how I finished it. I dropped legitimately better shows. It's just that, for one reason or another, I had to keep watching Glasslip. It was terrible, but also intriguing, like what would happen if an alien watched a bunch of human dramas and decided to make one itself based on what it learned.

It wasn't the worst I've ever completed, but it was pretty damn bad in terms of writing and characterization. Pretty much every character was petty and unlikable, which undermines the show considering it revolves around the characters. The only things that saved it were the art direction and OST, which made for a great atmosphere. Overall it was really fucking disappointing, because style alone can't carry an entire series.

Marathon'd Green Green in one sitting. I had beer. I was puking my brains out by the end of it.

I only finished Aldnoah Zero because I watched it with my brother who loves that sort of shounen hero stuff. I thought the setting and history were interesting but the characters were just unbearably boring.
