PTSD. PTSD everywhere.
A reminder that it is 111 days until Part 2 of Digimon Adventure tri. is released, featuring a plant dominatrix, a Viking beast and
a Zero Two jobber.
Another thread already after that last shitposting fest?
Whatever, obligatory reminder.
It was more a reference to its Thorn Whip attack than anything else:
>A Fairy Digimon which has an appearance like the rose, which is called the queen of flowers. It has the form of a beautiful woman, and desires to remain beautiful forever. Its personality is more or less that way, and though it is excessively self-conscious about such things, its true strength does not in fact compare unfavorably with other Ultimates. Also, it wears on its breast a "Tiferet", a jewel which is engraved with the symbol of love and beauty. This Tiferet that it possesses is said to promise it eternal beauty and power. Its Special Move is taming Digimon, no matter how frenzied, with a thorned whip charged with electricity (Thorn Whip). It is said that those that suffer this technique become Rosemon's slave, body and soul. Also, it can bring down the opponent using the whip as a rapier (Roses Rapier). Additionally, as for Digimon who suffer Rosemon's ultimate Forbidden Temptation, their data is beautifully destroyed in a shower of innumerable rose petals.
>not exactly a dominant kind of Digimon
>"Its Special Move is taming Digimon, no matter how frenzied, with a thorned whip charged with electricity (Thorn Whip). It is said that those that suffer this technique become Rosemon's slave, body and soul"
Straight from its profile.
My dick can only get this erected.
They sure show more interest in each other than any of them does in Sora.
I fear Tri won't be fabulous enough.
Tai's reservations were overplayed, but the more I think about it, the more it's consistent with his character. Worrying about the collateral damage of their fights is just an extension of that bit with the electric fence in the pyramid in Adventure; Tai tends to shut down a bit whenever he's reminded that his actions have consequences. Matt's right to chew him out for not pulling himself together, but at least I can see where he's coming from.
Has there been a continuity where a main character being a shitter locked their partner into a weaker form like Numemon or Vaggimon?
All the "you screwed up raising it" I can think of were ballistic uncontrolled power.
It makes sense he's reticent to fight in his own world, in the digiworld everything can be borned again, but humans actually die.
Tone it down a bit and it makes for a better character arc.
What if Kari's Angewomon evolves into this
>Jo does actually have a gf
>she's a nigger
Just saw the first episode
What the fuck happened to Sora and Hikari they aged like milk what the fuck
Sora was never attractive to begin with but Hikari shoulda turned into a 8/10 at worst
TOEI FUCK YOU, ASK A PRECURE ARTIST FOR SOME HELP OR SOMETHING DONT FUCK WITH MY CHARACTERS
She really feels like a mary sue-esque character in the sense that she is probably going to be an important, disruptive character in an already established cast (so she gives off the same vibe as an author insert in fanfiction). Whether she goes full blown mary sue is yet to be seen, but there are signs.
Hello Taichi x Mimi faggot here. Do anyone else like this pairing? I been supporting it since I saw 02 Mimi and I hope it happens. I have high hopes. If this ship does get crushed I'll just go jack off to some hentai so no biggie.
Reminder that Meikuumon evolves from a Plotmon recolor without a holy ring.
She's definitely going to evolve to LadyDevimon.
A shot from the OP. I wonder if it's Meiko.
>Ten minutes of episode two dedicated to literally nothing but the same Digivolution sequence repeated six times in a row
>Omnimon jogress relegated to a five second Photoshop effect
Asians are racist as fuck towards black people. Apparently they think they're honorary whites. It's like they forgotten that it was white people who put their own kind and containment camps in WWII and bombed two of their cities and firebombed others. When they come to murrika their degrees don't mean shit and they have to run a beauty supply store in a black neighborhood.
>caring about Sora and Hikari now best girl is back home
Do people seriously want this? Despite all the shippingshit in the fandom, romance never played a big part in Digimon, making it some major plot point would be a terrible idea.
>(so she gives off the same vibe as an author insert in fanfiction)
You've never read a terrible self inset fanfic have you?
And Takeru will be all REMOVE DARKNESS again.
Which partner digimon ultimates do you prefer over their perfect forms design-wise? I like metalgarurumon and heraklekabuterimon, but that's about it I think.
None of them deserves the best girl.
I hope Seraphimon and Ophanimon get redesigns, or another form. They're just not on the same level as Angemon and Angewomon's design.
Sure, but if that was all, there was no need to make her Taichi's neighbour on top of being classmates. From that I get the feeling they're setting her up as a potential love interest for him.
We'll have to wait and see I guess.
Uhhh I've been out of touch with digimon ever since season 3 ended with the cards, never saw any movie past the one with Diaboromon and I lost interest after.
What is this digimon adventure tri?
Is anybody else hoping that Meiko is Jou's girlfriend?
Did the subbed version I watched alter the name on the screen showing all the DigiDestined for zero reason, or is Jo's name canonically Joe as of Tri?
As I understand it, the original played up Izzy (Koushiro)/Mimi more, whereas the english dub played up Joe/Mimi more. I actually rewatched Adventure a while back and they actually have a few moments together.
Also some people
like mereally like them together.
I don't think Jou-senpai would lie... would he?
Ayyy, holy shit. That sounds dope as hell! I admit I liked Season 3 but I couldn't get into the others. Ran into the same problem as pokemon for me, too many new fucking features too fast and got too silly for me.
Season 1 and 2 were my faves though. The only required viewing material are the 2 seasons and the Diaboromon movie yeah?
Watch Frontier, it's alright outside of the Royal Knight arc.
Xros Wars is great, but Young Hunters is it's 02.
While the writers of the english dub liked Jou/Mimi together, the sub still has more scenes of Jou/Mimi together than Koushiro/Mimi. It's probably why they are sharing the next movie.
Pretty much, yeah. Adventure 02 isn't even entirely required, Tri basically goes "Yeah all this happened and everyone's older now, but those characters aren't important" in the first five minutes.
It seems so. It might change again.
At least his name can't differ as much as Koshiro/Koshiroh/Koushiro/Koushirou.
Not that guy, but it kinda did. Remember when Koushirou and Mimi were together in the temple with the writing on the walls? Mimi seemed pretty upset that he wasn't paying attention to her
>Royal Knights arc
fuck that shit. those 10-ish episodes dragged down the whole show.
Let's sideline everyone except for the two main characters. And let's have them job repeatedly until they win out of nowhere because they "got used to it".
That episode was enough for me to ship them, I don't care if Mimi and Joe later had more screen together.
Also, they have so much potential working together (ditzy girl with smart boy).
You have no idea how much I love Wargrymon.
Metalgarurumon 2nd and Heracle 3rd.
He's not that person anymore :^)
I don't get the arc they've got for Taichi so far. He's upset about all of the destruction, so he doesn't want to fight. But that would just lead to MORE destruction because nobody's trying to stop all the evil fucking Digimon. What exactly is his problem?
Sora is dating Yamato. He's not going to outright ask his best friend's girlfriend who happens to be his other best friend to his soccer match it's kinda not cool. He just txt if she coukd make it with Yamato's edge concert being the same day.
>so much potential
I totally agree, also I think Mimi is expressing more admiration for him and his inventions than ever as of Tri.
You have to admit that Mishirou is more likely than any other pairing at this point. Hell, it's the only canon ship right now other than Sorato.
I know this is /a/ not /v/
but I got banned there for criticizing Battlefront, so I'll ask you, is there any good Digimon vidya? I've been playing Re:Digitize on an emulator and it's fun but pretty repetitive.
>come to /a/
>complain about people liking japanese things
>Joe and Mimi clearly have a special dynamic by the end of adventure
I don't recall any special dynamic apart from "she's my kouhai so I got to protect her", I saw more chemistry in the Centarumon episode than the entire Puppetmon-Piedmon arc. The fact that both Izzy and Mimi are the same grade helps that chemistry, and not only on a romantic level.
Same thing that happened with the fence scene. He's basically in panic mode atm, and isn't thinking after only now realizing that actions leads to consequences. And in typical digimon fashion, he'll find his courage back in later films, either the 3rd hopefully or at worst the 6th.
I think it's like >>133895927 and >>133896013
were saying, but yeah, the main problem with it is that Taichi's only other option leaves the city leveled. Fighting is obviously the lesser of two evils, but he's acting like he has another option somewhere.
>so I'll ask you, is there any good Digimon vidya?
The Story series are good
Re:Digitize is the best World game
They're two games based on Savers and Adventure that are essentially turned based battle simulators that are okay
The rest range for meh to bad.
You do realize Taichi always had the problem of rushing into things with too much Courage which frequently got him and the others in trouble.
Now he's old enough to consider actual problems but isn't thinking about the courageous aspect of it all. This is clearly about him finding it again
This is someone who
jokinglyasked two of her best friends to pay for her airfare from the US even though it was going to cost over a million yen.
Mimi might be cute, kind and always open to making friends, but she's so pampered it'd be difficult to keep her in that lifestyle.
Let's not forget that he had similar doubts in Adventure. Remember when he realized that death in the digital world was just as real as death irl? Looks like the feelings behind that breakdown are being expounded upon in tri
That's...more or less what i was saying, anon. I'd argue that their side-adventure during the Dark Masters stuff establishes a special bond between them, but like I (and you!) said, there's not really a romantic element to it.
It is though, if you pay attention to what Jou and Mimi said in the movie. Plus the fact that pretty much nothing indicates they could be dating, not even small hints like in 02.
OH MY SAUSY GUISE
WAIT WHAT IF
IF ONLY IF
ALL THE CURRENT 13 ADVENTURE SEASON CHOSEN BECOMES THE OLYMPUS XII AMD FIGHT THEIR DIGIMONS THAT FOR SOME REASON TURNED INTO ROYAL KNIGHT
Tailmon forever. Cat is my everything.
Love triangle aside, Sora spazzing out while trying to figure out how to not disappoint either of her two best bros was really cute. She also has wonderful boobs.
Mimi may be MAXIMUM TROLL in this movie, but even she wouldn't ask who Sora is going to choose if she was already dating Yamato. That's just too mean-spirited.
hasn't he always been like that? gets really into his tech stuff and once he gets started you kinda just have to let him finish.
I thought it was even funnier that what actually broke him out of that was Jo saying he had a girlfriend
Man, you want a whole production, for which I am sorrily not equipped for.
That said, it is something that should totally happen when all 6 are done, just chop them all up into one lean 2 hour 90's fueled machine
>The Story series are good
They're mediocre at best.
>Re:Digitize is the best World game
Hell no it ain't, it's a shittier version of the original that lacks all its charm.
>They're two games based on Savers and Adventure that are essentially turned based battle simulators that are okay
Those are just underwhelming jrpgs. At least they're not digimon story tier bad, but they lack anything to really make them stand out.
>you will never lay her down to bed and watch her blush and embarrassedly put her arm over her gloriously moderately-sized breasts
which is exactly what she did
It was just for laughs.
My favorite part is the implication that Yamato and Taichi getting into a pissing match and storming off is just business as usual, but Jou having a girlfriend is headline news.
>Sure, but if that was all, there was no need to make her Taichi's neighbour on top of being classmates. From that I get the feeling they're setting her up as a potential love interest for him.
Or, yknow, seeing as how Taichi is going through a struggle of conscience and the new girl seems to be in a spot of trouble herself, a main part of her involvement in the plot at some point could be one of them (or both?) resolving the other's problems and beating the bad guys as a result. Like I dunno, he helps her be more confident and act natural around her new friends, so because of that she gets the strength to speak up against him when he's doing something weak/wrong and change his mindset, turning him into a better leader. I could see that.
I really can't name a good digimon game.
At best at I can point to some I've enjoyed despite their obvious flaws that make them the inferior choice when compared to other games in their respective genres:
Digimon card battle and rumble arena, perhaps digimon world championship too if you're a big fan of the tamagotchis (I personally liked that one more than the first digimon world, even with its retarded training system).
>Koushiro x Mimi crushed
>Jou x Mimi crushed
>Taichi x Sora crushed
>Taichi x Matt crushed
>Taichi x Kari crushed
yknow what anon, go right ahead, I think you're doing a great thing.
Why would she tease Sora like that if she knew Sora had been in a relationship with Yamato for three years already? And why would Jou say he deserves to be "the first one to find happiness" because he's the oldest if he knew two of his friends had already found happiness three years ago?
There's also the fact that Yamato just doesn't seem to give a fuck about Sora for the most part of the movie.
>"They've both grown to be very handsome. What are you going to do, Sora-san?" :^)
You're right; "choosing" was never explicitly in her words, but it is most definitely implied. Unless you mean to say that Mimi meant "They've grown to be very handsome, so are you gonna NTR Yamato with Tai?" And that's just not cool. And Hikari laughed, too. That would be doubly not cool.
>the implication that Yamato and Taichi getting into a pissing match and storming off is just business as usual
Tsundere girlfriends sure are tough.
You know what, that actually sounds like a decent idea. Having a love triangle between best bros Taichi and Koushiro would be much more interesting than the retarded one we have right now.
>They're mediocre at best.
For the franchise? They're good but yes they are mediocre games
>Hell no it ain't, it's a shittier version of the original that lacks all its charm.
The original Digimon World is a broken mess that's frustrating to play, its only value is nostalgia but the game is practically unplayable due to its unfair training requirements and rusty combat. Re:Digitize is actually fun to play.
>Those are just underwhelming jrpgs.
For this franchise they're fine, there's really not a whole lot of options.
I dunno why she and Matt never hit it off. They both seem like modern, fashionable types. Jou and Koushiro are too big of nerds and Taichi is all about sports and shit right? I dunno what she'd see in any of them. On the other hand, I could see Matt taking her shopping, seeing a movie, going to an amusement park, etc, and then chilling out later and her listening to his music.
They don't have to retcon it but they don't have to explicitly state anything regarding it, either. They'll probably just tease a bunch of ships to please everyone and leave the rest up to interpretation.
I do expect all that, but you'd be pretty delusional of you think Toei isn't going add all sort of romantic undertones to those developments. They're not kids any more after all, and the first movie already pushs the matter of romance to the forefront, which suggests it's probably going to be even more relevant going forward.
In digimon world you weren't chained to the gym to get your digimon to ultimate so the wild perfects and ultimates didn't murder you or drain you of your recovery.
It also didn't railroad you into a bad plot with crappy characters that amount to Akiho failing to get in the Russian guy's pants.
Is Shashenka a girl? I could never tell
Dagomon and his minions from the dark ocean appears and gently reminds her that she's going to be raped to birth his children. That should be enough to cause Hikari to rage against darkness and dark evolve into falldown mode
Don't crush my evil dreams, anon.
He's too pensive and quiet for her effusive bubbliness. I know that Yamato is a rock star or some shit, but he's an introspective, sensitive guy. She'd find him a drag, and he'd find her exhausting in a romantic context.
Yeah that's what I'm saying, their character types don't seem to be that antipolar or whatever you want to call it, yet they have pretty much never interacted and it's basically dead last in reasons the ship could exist. That disparity seems weird, so much that it seems stark.
...and so another helpless soul can't do anything to resist the Mimi.
Don't worry, anon; we've all been there
>In digimon world you weren't chained to the gym to get your digimon to ultimate so the wild perfects and ultimates didn't murder you or drain you of your recovery.
Yeah instead you wasted hours upon hours training your Greymon only to wind up with a Numemon because forgot to make it go poop or it dies before then.
I don't think it's quite at the level of delusion. Romantic developments at this point might actually only be possible because of that, compared to a relatively romance-free series as kids, but it's by no means the standard of the show now. It -may- happen, but it's not delusional to think it might not happen, either.
Numemon was the hardest digimon for me to get, I had to actively do nothing for in-game days.
I failed at getting it several times, whinding up with a whamon, tyranomon, and even a meramon instead.
I understand people shipping them in 2002-03, but nowadays? And with Tri?
At least most of the Koumifags are aware that all of this might be a a bait, but there's Takarifags (and even Taiorafags) that genuinely hope for then to happen.
Why do they do this? Are they masochists?
I'm curious as to why people think Tri will get dubbed. It's format makes it odd to sell in the States and there's no way they would target a literal sequel made for an older audience at kids so it probably wouldn't air on TV, not to mention Toei rarely sells out things like that without a TV deal.
This isn't Sunrise who commonly have done this sort of thing either
Just a reminder on who the best partner is.
The movie is not "about ships" though, it teased some ships here and there, but mostly focused on growing up, friendships and the whole mess between the digital and human world. Well unless you count all the homo subtext between Taichi and Yamato as shipping.
Judging only by the original series perhaps, but I think that gap in the current day is not so far that it can't be bridged. It's too wide to hope for spontaneous reaction though, there'd have to be some sort of constant proximity. In any case, if they were to go that route, I think that the current versions of themselves would have a better shot at being able to manage that. For example, Matt is still a bit cold, but he thinks enough about others not to press the issue when they say they have other plans than to come to his gig, which he really wanted them to be at. On the other hand, Mimi's playfulness now seems to be more casual and lighthearted even when teasing the others, rather than being incessantly boisterous like before.
That's not based Tentomon.
You misunderstand, I'm saying why did it have to turn out that way. You'd think they would have talked more considering them both being stylish types, but they may as well be strangers.
Not for me. If i could choose a Digimon partner it would be Veemon. My favourite
Oh and a male one
Yamato isn't a stylish type at all. What are you talking about?
Mimi isn't a very stylish type person either unless you're solely taking about the dub where that was her only character trait
whos looking forward to me showing up after everybody else jobs?
To be fair, it wasn't that clear they were dating back in adventure 02 and even in the movie of Diaboromon is back, it looked like no one was aware of them dating and he got all nervous so maybe they didn't made it official
It was pretty clear, especially in Diaboromon strikes back. He also had his arm around her in some random scene in 02 where the others were present. It would make no sense for them to hide their relationship from their closest friends, especially not for several years.
Sounds like she was just saying "lel, you're surrounded by hot guys" in a teasing manner.
And Jou could be very well not aware of them dating because they didn't told the group yet.
>Mimi isn't a very stylish type person either
I'd disagree with that. She does care about her style and how she looks.
>unless you're solely taking about the dub where that was her only character trait
Yeah, that was taking it way too far and subsequently ruined her.
So people think Taichi and Meiko are going to end up together just because she's a new girl? They wouldn't have "broken up" Yamato and Sora if they were just going to pair Taichi up with someone else. They are aiming at the couples the Japanese fanbase want and Meiko is just a red herring at most.
Why would they hide it for three years? And this still doesn't explain why they just never act like they are dating at any point in this movie. Best example is the scene when Yamato's concert got cancelled because of the attacks:
If Sora was his girlfriend, shouldn't he be worried about her and call her immediatly, especially since he knew she might be already on the way to him? When Takeru was just calling his "female friend" at the same time? Instead, the first person he decided to call was Taichi, for whatever reason. There's just not a single hint of them being a couple or even Yamato having any sort of romantic feelings towards her.
It's easily my favorite arc in all of Adventure. Im hoping the rest of the movies will bring back that feel. First they need to give us a legit villian because Alphamon didn't exactly have the most interesting personality.
Name a single better Child stage 'mon
>mimi with the dark skinned daughter during the 02 epilogue
gets me everytime
Mimi had a son and he looked like a clone of her, what are you on about.
That isn't what was said. It was said that the epilogue's spirit, a world with human and Digimon living together would be kept. They said nothing about the children's futures.
Well, it's not like I have anything better to do. Thanks anyway.
Translation of an online news interview between Hanae Natsuki and Hosoya Yoshimasa.
It's happening. Search your feelings. You know it's true.
They'll have a possessed version of him fight Omegamon just to finally prove which one of them is actually stronger, and cement the fact that Imperialdramon Paladin Mode isn't a true jogress, but rather just Fighter Mode wielding the Omega Blade.
>>133900544Hanae: “To me, Taichi is Fujita (Toshiko)-san, so I was very worried. Fujita-san has a really unique voice that I thought was perfect for Taichi. In my audition, I went with an open attitude and voiced Taichi as naturally as I could, but it was majorly with the conviction that I wouldn’t get the part even though I might as well try. To share my honest opinion here, I couldn’t overlap my image of myself with Taichi. That was why, when it came time for my audition, I wondered whether I should – not mimic Fujita-san’s unique voice, but bring my voice as close to hers as possible. But since Fujita-san’s Taichi can only be done by Fujita-san, I decided to build a new Taichi, a more grown-up Taichi, within myself. However, I did keep in mind that he did adventure with Agumon and the others through the Digital World as a child, and I kept those memories close inside my heart as I performed.”
I was thinking this too. I'm glad he didn't try to imitate the old actress. It wouldn't have worked at all
how much will these movies royally suck?
so wait, when Takeru was posting on the worldwide digidestined site, that was actually in english?
I'm both slightly impressed that they didn't botch the english and a little amused that Takeru seems to be a world-minded guy.
>Hosoya: “I think that Taichi and Yamato’s relationship will go through growths and changes. Maybe there will even be a successful romantic relationship (laughs).”
>Hanae: “Yes, maybe. In a rather unexpected place. (laughs)
>Maybe ALL of season 2 doesn't exist.
How delusional can you get? Every press release for this show has said it's set after 02 and there are enough references to indicate as such like worldwide Digidestined and D3s
Dominant and recessive genes don't mean shit to anime logic when it comes to hair or eye color. As long as one of their parents had it, they can have it. It doesn't matter that logically certain colors should dominate others....
Maybe they didn't make a big announcement but the others came to notice that they were dating. Jou wasn't particularly close with the group because of muh studying.
And on that note, Taichi was the only one who canonically knew that Sora had feelings for Yamato, that is why the scene at the beginning where he avoided both of them makes sense, because he wanted to leave those "lovebirds" alone. And just because they didn't act romantically with each other on screen, doesn't mean they are not in a relationship.
At this point, there are many ways to refute the theories whether they are dating or not because 02 (and episode 38) exists and is fucking with our heads.
As expected of a cuccold.
>Dub played up Joe/Mimi
Whatever makes you sleep at night.
Koushirou and Mimi have one episode with important interactions, while Jyou and Mimi had far more. It was in Jyou's nature to take care of Mimi because she was one of the youngest, he did the same thing with Takeru.
Stop talking about dub, retard. I'm not a murrikan and rewatched with subs.
As it should be. No one else is good enough for them.
>needing a crest
It's time to upgrade.
>And just because they didn't act romantically with each other on screen, doesn't mean they are not in a relationship
It still weird that they wouldn't hint it at all, while 02 had enough hints, even if they were really subtle. And instead throw in hints that would suggest they were never dating to begin with, like the scenes with Jou and Mimi. I'm not saying it's completely impossible, it just seems like a really strange way to handle it.
