New Chapter is out and it's Red Hair Shanks time
>red hair fag
>makes a new thread as if the chapter hadn't been discussed as much as possible
Literally kill yourself desu-
At least wait until Thursday for a new thread, then you at least can pretend to have an excuse of "but we MIGHT get spoilers tonight again, like in the good old days!"
Let this thread die, just read one of the 12 threads from the weekend if you want memes and/or discussion.
Seriously stop with the threads. All it will be is shit posting loudly about Eto x Kaneki, slurp slurp, or red v black nonsense.
In the case I am wrong, when Kaneki next uses his kakuja do you all think that the centipede legs on the tail will turn into a bunch of claws like he used in this chapter and against arima?
No they won't, or at least I doubt it, even Eto's kakuja seems fairly constant in form and she is better than Kaneki at shaping her normal kagune.
Really, claws/hands aren't a new motif for him, they're just a very basic form that's easy to use.
He used a kind of basic Rinkaku shape to stab Tsukiyama, for example.
But seriously, stop bumping the thread.
Read one of the previous threads if you want to find out.
Seriously, we don't need any more threads.
I'm not, retard, ever heard of a sage?
b-b-but anons always tell me it's in 5 minutes, accompanied with this picture!
>Kaneki has a root/cordyceps motif with his Kagune
He doesn't, see when he stabbed Tsukiyama, he just didn't bother forming them into more defined shapes when he stabbed Kanae.
I'd be pretty disappointed if we wouldn't see Kaneku use his Rinkaku tentacles to fight anymore, since he can now easily form them into blades, and I assume use projectiles with a bit of training.
Suddenly I'm incredibly interested in posting in this thread.
His hair isn't red, you autistic faget, it's black. Haven't you ever seen dried blood before? Or even wet blood in gray hair?
but that's brown
>faggots keep bringing up Ishida's poem as proof for red hair
>when the original japanese doesn't even mention blood stains in the hair
>when the accompanying picture literally has Kaneki with white hair in it
Are people purposefully retarded? I know most anons on here are, but are other sites genuinely this stupid?
See pic related or the animated version on his twitter.
Fucking 4chan won't let me post mp4 files
Also at least have the politeness to sage, faggot
Nope are you?
But what has a image of white hair kaneki from ishida's twitter to do with Haise who either went black or red (brown)?
See >>133898235 you illiterate contrarian cancer
I doubt it's that is, thought Yoshimura did manage to change his to look like Eto's, and Eto's did change during the years.
It's literally says that the unfallen blood cant be washed no matter how many times you wash it with hot water. It's just won't come off.
Also Ishida updated that pic on his twitter with Kaneki having a blurred reflection.
Ah I see what you mean, I mean when he uses his claws they look sort of like roots, but of course he can pretty much make them look like anything he wants, a good old tentacle can stab as good as anything.
I want him to make a centipede mouth, or any mouth really, the poor guy has been borderline starved for a ghoul of his level and had his eyes scooped out reguarly for awhile, he needs to refule in bulk.
Dream sequence, faggot. And that wasn't blood, it was tar. It covered shironeki's hair as well despite the latter not suffering any injuries. Blood does not soak and turn your hair dark like that. Also if it was completely dried (which it isn't) it would not be flowing in the wind.
You see what this is? Flowing hair. Red, dried, sticky blood does not flow in the wind.
This is a manga.
No, he's been jumping all over the place with his kagune. Like some sort of spiderman who shoots web from his butt.
So you think it's logical a guy developed black fingernails and white hair from torture in 10 days ?
Also, Haise's hair made no sense whatsoever. It didn't follow logic, somehow his roots were black, yet the rest of it was white for years. Not to mention that in climactic fights, his hair became more prominently white.
Tokyo Ghoul doesn't follow logic in regards to such things, it's all symbolic and made that way for the story.
The manga showed his hair stained with blood, thus we come to the conclusion that it's a very dark shade of red. Deal with it.
If it doesn't follow logic whats the problem with his hair becoming black?
Have you considered Naruto as a manga, anon?
You'd like it.
>10th Tokyo Ghoul thread
>Discussion is now limited to whether his hair is black or red
>implying there is a deep meaning other than "muh poem"
Why don't we stop bumping this shit and just wait till the next chapter and you faggots can continue it there?
It's not a matter of having a thread here, it's the fact that you idiots have made numerous threads for a single chapter with nothing but the same discussion and the same arguments. Enough is enough, fuck off.
Not even that guy but, why are you so dumb? Do you really give a fuck about other people think of this topic? You're just being a whiny faggot.
Then, keep thinking his hair is black. There are some people who think otherwise. Get the fuck over it.
You really think i'd go through that much effort just for you?
Hopefully never. One of the best things about tokyo ghoul is that the mc had control over his actions, there wasn't some edgy demon/insane thing inside him that would take control.
Red or Black, Black or Blue, Eto wants to cum on you.
>Koi Koi Suki Suki
Is this a Maximum The Hormone song title?
I always wondered, since she experienced so much tragedy, perhaps she developed white hair ? Ishida once drew her with white hair, which made me think she actually dyed her hair green.
Well we know that she has no faith in other people anymore. Furthermore she has only been able to live by killing, or worse. It is safe to say that she wouldnt know what to do if someone actually tried to show her kindness.
Yeah. He was so used to just taking a stupid amount of damage and recovering that when he actually took so much that fast, probably couldn't keep up and got over powered by the combo at the end.
Well, everything implies that that'd be end for him/her (No idea if the gender was confirmed before) But I don't know if I could accept it. I wish its backstory would have been revealed, or anything of the sort; I only hope that Ishida delivers.
>if someone actually tried to show her kindness
I think it's noro and her speaking kagune are the only family she had. Do you remember how Haise described Eto by her books? She's a lonely girl who seeks destruction because of things that she's see unfair and never experienced, maybe. You know like envy and jealousy.
I really hope for Eto to be sad or even cry for noro, because she's just this lonely.
Nothing was explained on if Noro is a girl or guy, so its up in the air.
It's death was a bit short, i'll admit. But at the same time it feels complete. He took on a shit ton of CCG members, including the Qs, and injured/killed many of them. Going out like that is at least plausible.
>curious to see how bad it can be
>What is SnK
They're 10x worse and from what I see, never get shit on.
Tokyo Ghoul can have a good discussion every now and then when its really needed, but this is the 10th thread with one chapter, and nothing is being talked about other than if his hair is black or red.
It's black Remember to sage
I'm a huge Eto fag but I really wanna see Kaneki just absolutely rail Eto.
In more ways than one.
Because you're not going to see me warp fucking dimensions and see me in the next chapter plowing a fictional character.
what the fuck is happening in this page whos stabbing him
Reminder that Ui did jack shit this entire arc.
Eto was pretty berserk and out of her mind, anon.
He probably did well to thoroughly incapacitate her.
Regardless, we need to see him in a more relaxed environment/scenario/scene before we can really pass judgement of what he's like and whether we like the change or not.
>need to see him in a more relaxed environment/scenario/scene
I don't know anon, his glare and ominous posture when he talked to Tsukiyama was pretty telling of what he's like in a relaxed situation, if you ask me. There was no imminent danger to him at all.
When will we get more Touken? I've been waiting for Kaneki to regain his memories.
I'm sorry, i'll sage now so that I may only bump when I have a relevant comment.
I'm not the guy that posted it but come on. Sure the comments aren't meant to make you keel over in laughter but I think it's an improvement on the typical dead, alive or mia.
>*car engine and bumblebee sounds*

>"Yes, the fire rises." (Kaneki Ken)
Your retarded use of the word literally and this translating what I just said into drivel, stacked on top of screaming "reddit" really makes you look like /v/.
Says the retard who spouts the le-cuk meme like it's going out of fashion. It's so fucking cancerous they had to fucking filter it.
You're more cancerous than frogposters, how does that make you feel?
>They are just abunch of insecure arrogant retards that mistranslate everything.
They "claim" that the one who do the translation last chapter wasn't the regular one, he don't know much about the series. But yeah, even not knowing the series well, you just can't mistranslate the sentence.
His use of the word literally does not fit with the original intention of the word, however it does fit with a now widely accepted and more common usage.
His use of green text was used to point out what he disliked.
You guys are not going to let this thread die, huh?
Fuck off, seriously.
Would anyone happen to have the Tokyo Ghoul :re digital eBooks?
If ya do, any chance you could upload it to madokami or something?
The are literally on every shit-tier page like dl-zip shoban next and all the shit in 1200px - ebook rips. There are 1600px ebooks out their, but I doubt that anyone will buy them now instead of directly buying the physical volume.
>Is that what he's so asspained about?
I think its probably how bad the threads are.
After all the blame on tumblr and reddit, I am now curious about how the discussion on tumblr and reddit looks like.
>I wasn't even the guy who said literally.
Ah alright, I knew about those but weren't sure if they were the digital or scanned, because the resolution would be different across the volumes.
Know where the 1600px ebooks are by any chance?
I'm not doubting that we only see the worst (at least in our eyes), but we can at the very least confirm their worst is worse than our worst.
If you don't want to go to tumblr to find our, you could always go to the wiki and look at the comments.
I'd suggest Tooru's page, it's always good for a laugh/rage.
They don't. At all.
If there are any shitposters from other sites, it's reddit. It looks like reddit style shitposting.
Tumblr is currently being triggered by people calling Kaneki "psycho" saying that it's ableist.
That is what I was thinking.
People thinking this >>133926257 were actually looking at >>133926143.
Might take a look at the reddit discussions to see what their posts look like then.
They actually come from her shit blog. I remember several times that that happened. Once she wrote that shit about hairu and the garden and we literally had garden spams for two days. Afterwards the red hair shit come from there. other tumblr retards made the yamori rape shit famous. They are literally the cancer.
>Might take a look at the reddit discussions to see what their posts look like then.
Well, I'm guessing you want /r/TokyoGhoul, which was terrible (for reddit standards) last I checked, and they post charts from here over there too.
Though honestly the "go back to tumblr/reddit" is one of the worst forms of shitposting anyway, especially as it's often directed at non-shit comments that the anon just doesn't disagree with, instead of the actual shitposters, and derails threads.
>other tumblr retards made the yamori rape shit famous.
I thought chibireviews was the one that made that famous
I've mentioned before that he links here for translations and spoilers. The tumblr TG "fandom" is far too easily triggered to come over here, and the way the shitposters speak is very different from tumblr posts.
However, Makyun's blog often gets linked to and is very popular on reddit
And the shitposters sound like redditors.
>go to reddit
>see pic related
>young jump anon is actually a redditor https://www.reddit.com/r/TokyoGhoul/comments/3u0iym/request_tokyo_ghoul_re_young_jump_digital_raws/
Why am I so disappoint?
You guys didn't have the Young Jump digital raws, so I resorted to reddit.
Honestly, I hope I don't have to resort to fucking tumblr, I might as well just commit suicide.
>Well, I'm guessing you want /r/TokyoGhoul, which was terrible (for reddit standards) last I checked, and they post charts from here over there too.
I skimmed the latest chapter discussion on reddit and its bad, but in a different way.
Only similarity I noticed was the hair discussion.
I didn't see anything like the repeated Kaneki x Eto post or the Rio posts that occupied entire threads.
Also the discussion was around 300 posts against the thousands on 4chan.
Difference between the digital volume and digital site scans.
Is this why ISIS darkened this shit?
This is resized to match the digital site scan.
>Kaneki x Eto post or the Rio posts that occupied entire threads.
Well tumblr doesn't really give a shit about Eto, and I don't think they know who Rio is.
Reddit "style" is much closer. Because the karma system and usernames, they're not going to Riopost that much on reddit. And I think reddit has Eto waifufags.
The Eto translation was far from the only problem with the translation in that chapter. Even for MS, it was awful.
Not to mention they managed to take the already shit scans and make them even worse somehow.
Hirako is crippled by the fact that he has feelings.
I liked the scene where Amon was sent away because he was excellent and not expendable and Hirako who stayed behind was asking if it meant if he was expendable.
I see what you're saying now, there's still an odd different though.
No shit. He even does the same thing with Arima in commanding his squadmates.
Hirako is very much Arima Jr. Ui in comparison is a lot more emotive.
Kaneki has brainwashed himself a few times. He could be autistic as he wants to be.
>Reddit "style" is much closer. Because the karma system and usernames, they're not going to Riopost that much on reddit. And I think reddit has Eto waifufags.
Its definitely possible a lot of them are from reddit.
It seemed like the one thing the reddit discussion had going for it was a dedicated moderator.
I'm trying to put together an archive, I think I might just use the digital site scans all I can and for the rest, use the volume scans.
Maybe use the volume scans for the ends of chapters or something.
He autismo dodged Eto while being caught off guard while Hirako failed multiple times.
>I just realized most of Tokyo Ghoul's fanbase are made up of clueless shits
These fuckers keep on complaining about things being confusing to understand. This current chapter there's been idiots that said Kaneki stabbed Tsukiyama's eyes.
Would you protect that smile, /a/?
>there's been idiots that said Kaneki stabbed Tsukiyama's eyes.
I like pic related because it goes right past stupid to stupidly funny.
Top fucking kek. Someone is actually that stupid.
>mfw when someone actualy takes the Venom theory seriously
Ui pretty easily, no? He had a much better showing against the Owls and is also regarded better by the CCG/Arima.
It's not like he lost Haise's memories, he just gained his own.
Even if he can't do autism right now, he only needs a bit of his autistic solitary mental image training to incorporate it into his combat style, I believe.
Yeah, there's really no reason to sage at this point.
It's not just that, her kakuja has obviously evolved since that.
For example, its face doesn't have those lines on it anymore, and the central eye is a lot more obviously an eye.
It changed a bit throughout Tokyo Ghoul, but :re isn't radically different.
>Yeah, there's really no reason to sage at this point.
There was never any hope of it dying. Every time it got close some anon would post on how the thread should die and then get a handful of posts telling him to fuck off bumping the thread or there would be another slurp slurp.
I still saged.
Because his hair color is intentional and bears meaning.
Kaneki didn't get white hair during his torture just because Ishida got bored of drawing him with black hair, Haise's hair wasn't a mix of black and white by mistake, and it wasn't a coincidence that Haise's hair appeared almost entirely white during the Seidowl fight and fluctuate significantly afterwards.
Anons looking for metaphors and arguing over interpretations.
Its a problem with unintentional inconsistency vs author saying something.
Its one of those things that would be easier to judge after the series is completed.
The change to black during his torture came along with his white hair, so their meanings are usually taken to make one whole and therefor the nails, being less prominent than the hair, are usually not discussed.
If you do want to discuss them, go ahead.
Were they meant to symbolize that Kaneki gained his "claws" and was capable of fighting seriously from then on? That he would bloody his hands and his nails would be stained?
Are Haise losing the black nails and being a worse fighter connected?
Will we ever see her again?
Remember when we used to have anons in these threads posting multiple posts long, sensible theories and interpretations supported by pages from the manga or Ishida himself?
Any theories on why the sky was checkered cubes during Haise's and Kaneki's mental confrontation? Was it meant to show the brain trauma, or the fuzziness of the borders, or the great chaos inside and outside? The splintered nature of Kaneki's mind?
>Ui gets hyped by arima himself right before this arc
>ends being irrelevant and fighting literally no one who has a name
>Matsuri is just a bystander
>Best Boy Hirako is written out of the story by sending him back to Arima for more suffering
Wow, Ishida thanks.
>Any theories on why the sky was checkered cubes during Haise's and Kaneki's mental confrontation? Was it meant to show the brain trauma, or the fuzziness of the borders, or the great chaos inside and outside?
Might have been a throwback to v14 and his mentality returning to that of when he fought Arima.
>The splintered nature of Kaneki's mind?
I figured the tulpas were mainly a mix of insanity and parts of Kaneki he chose to throw away.
That is the nicest thing Arima has said. Everything else has been lukewarm or an evaluation.
I want Hirako to have some major role in taking down Arima.
Well, the great autist anon theorised that the checkerboards represent order in human society, and flowers were the natural order.
But I'm not sure where his mother's abuse might fall into that, because it seems to fall into both categories.
I don't know about the popularlity boost, because I stopped coming to these threads around then, but Hirako being suffering was a thing before that, and some /a/nons just like to root for the normalfag surrounded by autists.
abusea Kaneki, /a/?
> Normalfag surrounded by autists
Hirako is a poor mans Arima. He's incredibly autistic.
Just for her own amusement/enjoyment maybe?
Not being a shipperfag, but it makes sense that she's be really interested in someone like Kaneki who has so much in common with her.
Kaneki taking down Kanae had some parallels to his Arima fight, like the eye stabbing, but his fighting wasn't really more Arima like was it?
Though it's kind of hard to tell with the shit scans.
Well before :re he hardly came up besides for tiny roles in battle and was presented as a background character so he got overlooked a lot, but now he got more talking roles, central cgg in the clown fight, and appears in omakes
Even with the shitty scans, I really love this panel. Can't wait for the better scans of 53.
Shotaneki is 2qt beaming like that while saying he wants to die.
Is anyone else here /Kaneki/?
He actually appeared quite a bit in the original TG.
> Against Yoshimura alongside Kuroiwa and Shinohara in the Aogiri arc
> Against Uta and Yomo in the flashback chapters
> MVP against Irimi in the Anteiku Raid
> Got BFO by Eto
> Appeared in the final chapter
He had probably the biggest role outside of the main CCG group (Suzuya, Amon, Shinohara, Seidou, Akira)
It's hilarious that Kaneki is related to a centipede. They are known to feast on the brain in east Asian mythology. And Kaneki has had his brain scrambled relentlessly.
I'm Egyptian mythology the centipede is a symbol of protection, which is one of Kaneki's biggest obsessions.
To bad he sucks at protecting those he cares about.
You took that from reddit, didn't you?
Only the eyestab thing was somewhat parallel, and even that didn't go through Kanae's brain.
Kaneki wasn't autistic at all during the Kanae fight.
>Kaneki wasn't autistic at all during the Kanae fight
That's exactly what I was saying.
>You took that from reddit, didn't you?
Nope, I remember people discussing it here around when the raws were first out I think.
I think there was another panel that reminded me of the Arima fight.
I agree with you, that's why I was asking the question to see if there was something I missed.
>chinese red headed centipede
>red headed centipede
I don't what the big deal is about his hair possibly being red from the blood. It's not like it will stay like that for long if that's the case anyway.
Probably to a point with most, with larger changes being possible the more experienced and intelligent the ghoul is.
The stable kakuja forms might just be because it is what sticks with the desires and subconscious thoughts of the ghoul.
>here is a book from 1885 that recounts the encounters of various Western missionaries. In one account a writer talks about purchasing a small household shrine and a lantern which appears to have accompanied it. He calls the shrine “the poor man’s Bishamon” and says: “This same Mr. Bishamon resides within, and his horrid messenger – the centipede – is painted on the doors, as it is on the lantern.”
>It was mentioned – and not in a good way – in the Kojiki, Japan’s oldest written record. I the Handbook of Japanese Mythology by Ashkenazi it says: “Centipedes are impure, polluted animals associated with the dead.” They were also mentioned in myths as gigantic, threatening creatures wrecking havoc wherever they were.
Well in Japanese mythology, there's two types of centipede, the first is a hideous poisonous monster made out of pure evil and hatred of everything, and the second are the glistening divine messengers and servants of Bishamon the god of war.
>glistening divine messengers
>his horrid messenger – the centipede
Doesn't really sound like being a messenger of the god of war and being hideous monsters really contradict eachother.
>Centipedes are said to possess an ability to spot gold mines. Therefore Japanese people used to carry centipedes in bamboo tubes when they went to the mountains in search of gold. These messenger centipedes are different from ordinary ones. There is something glossy and noble about them, and they appear in the drawing rooms, sitting rooms, and places where Kōjin deities and water gods preside. You must not kill them by mistaking them for common centipedes. You may take their appearance for a sign of some change in your happiness and prosperity.
Bishamonten was also a god of wealth, even Takeda Shigen used the centipede on his flag as a symbol of Bishamonten.
>his horrid messenger – the centipede
That's from western missionaries like the Portuguese.
I can't fix retardation but I can tell them to fuck off at least. Tokyo Ghoul isn't complicated, especially as of recently.
The only people lost are those commenting on Facebook.
Is this Kaneki?
Reminder that Haise may be dead, but his puns will live on.
I don't know if this has been discussed before, do people think there's any significance to Kaneki's two speech bubbles at the top having reversed colors?
Well since the centipede is the messenger/servant of the god of war, and Kaneki is the quinque/servant of the CCG's god of death, honestly I think he might be a more balanced person and more ruthless as fitting to his role. Even Seidou asking him if he was trash or treasure can go back to the centipede being used to dowse for gold.
Shit, I don't think I've actually seen those bubbles translated before. At least not THAT translation.
I really like them though, it's unnerving without just being "lol so randum he's so crazy"
>centipede is the messenger/servant of the god of war, and Kaneki is the quinque/servant of the CCG's god of death
Nice, I can't believe I didn't catch that!
And of course we can see where
>threatening creatures wrecking havoc wherever they were
might fit Kaneki too.
I always get a bit wary when people look for symbolism like that because you can make pretty much anything fit and look intentional to someone that doesn't know any better, whether the writer intended it or not, but that does seem actually intentional.
He probably knew the names of the bones before going to college.
Hide made a joke about him already knowing everything in asian history and he didn't seem stressed at all studying for the entrance exam.
