If someday I get rich, I want to fund an anime that is in the style of a series from the 1980s that was never released. Like we would pretend that it was something the was locked in some vault in Tokyo for all these years and is only now being released.

It would be a sci-fi cyberpunk love triangle in 4:3 with a shitload of violence, hyper-stylized sex ala Megazone 23, and GRAIN.

IT had a very limited run in Japan for a short time back in 2012, and then it was never released and there exist no camrips. The only copies are with the producer, and they are almost assuredly not going to be released to the public.

I think it has more to do with Kadokawa than Nagano. They too were the reason why the original FSS move took almost a decade to get a proper DVD release (because the president of the company was caught smuggling cocaine which put a damper on all of Kadokawa's productions). God knows what they're doing behind closed doors right now.

Though, I think it would be smart for them to bring it over to the US for a limited theatrical release via Funimation or something like with other anime movies, if technical problems really are that big of an issue.
