I genuinely feel relief knowing that I don't need to get a Wii U to play Xenoblade X now because the soundtrack is so fucking obnoxious and shitty. Bad music ruins just about any RPG.

He was promising talent with Zombie Loan and Unicorn OST, however since Guilty Crown all he does is rehash himself like Kajiura.

ITT: one trick pony. Its nice trick, but even it gets old.

For example Iwasaki, while having very defined and recognizable own style still has lot more originality and variation.

A-1, you're supposed to say the name of the show before you start shilling the staff.

I didn't know him and I listened to Xenoblade Chronicles' OST.

At that moment, there was only one thing that went through my mind: "Give us Yoko Shimomura and ACE+ back".
I don't even want to play it if it is to hear such a bland and tasteless soundtrack.

Did you just leave your cave or something? OST is out for half a year already.
The OST itself is ok but he really needs more experience in composing for video games. Most of the track doesn't fit to the atmosphere at all. Most notable one is the unique enemies music.

I don't feel any sense of emergency or element of surprise from XCX one. It's just catchy song that didn't fit the battle atmosphere at all.

Sawano is a good composer but I think if he keep this up, he should just stick to composing for anime or live action and stay the fuck away from video games.

Unicorn was his best work. I personally like ao no exorcist as well.

His music isn't bad, it's just really similar. He hasn't come up with anything new.
Not that I really blame him, with all the work he's been getting.

I dislike how he can't compose one consistent song though. Halfway through there's always a tempo change, a quirky sound effect or some badly placed vocals. It's like he doesn't know how to end a song.

His songs could use some new vocalists too. I'm tired of Kobayashi's Engrish and David's shitty rap.

How AC+ (Xenoblade chronicles) did a better job for the OST than Hiroyukii Sawano (Xenoblade chronicles X)?

It looks like he's been recording a lot of new stuff recently over the past few months according to his twitter. It seems like game, anime, and nzk stuff. It seems too early for Titan S2 or Taizai S2 music, so what do you guys think he's working on?

I like everything Sawano has done, including Xenoblade.

However, I get the impression he isn't that good when he's left to his own devices.

Trigger and Sunrise, I imagine, worked very closely with him and as such produce two fantastic soundtracks.

Nintendo/Monolith, on the other hand, I imagine basically just said "knock yourself out", and that's why the Xenoblade OST doesn't hold up to those two.
