The age difference, for one. He was something like 12 at the beginning of Dragon Ball (although Saiyans age slower in general). I'm sure a good part of it is Bulma simply never saw Goku that way, since she was very much a mother to him and taught/introduced him to a lot of the world and way of human beings.

It's also probably because he was too "pure" to ever really see her that way. Chi Chi was the one who introduced the concepts of romance/love to him, which was new to him at that age and very rare in Saiyans in general so I'd be hardly surprised that he wouldn't have really paired up with anyone at all if it weren't for Chi Chi.

Yamcha tried, but yeah to be honest I still don't really wrap my head around why Vegeta and Bulma got together. I'm cool with the pairing, but I really would have loved more development. If anything I hope it's touched upon in Super, since time travel is a thing. A comedic episode or 2 based on watching them get together would be pretty sweet.

I don't think you are aware of the time when Goku came back from training with Kami/Popo. Bulma was creaming herself when she first saw him after the time skip. She also thought about it while in Namek. Only reason it didn't happen was simply because Toriyama didn't think it would be right, and set him up with Chichi instead.

Agreed. I can't see someone as nice as Suno putting up with Goku being Goku for as long as Chichi does. Chichi being a bitch is literally the fire that fuels that relationship vs Goku apparently liking the fact that Chichi complains so much.

As for this thread, Bulma and Goku would work if it was someone like Future Bulma who's lived in a world of strife and understood the pain of the common man. Current Bulma is too much of a selfish bitch to really understand Goku outside of being an older sister to him.

To an extent, Bulma works romantically with Vegeta in a push/pull dynamic. Goku, unlike with Chichi, would just get to do whatever he wants, without Bulma complaining, until Bulma wants Goku to show how much he appreciates her, which will likely end with a pissed off Bulma chasing Goku with a loaded weapon, when the latter likens their relationship to eating something bad.
