Yes, why wouldn't it be?

In fact, it's going to be even more of a thing in the future with 4K Blu-rays being confirmed for using 10-bit HEVC.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect any native 4K anime anytime soon. But that's not really relevant here - the thing that matters is that 10-bit video is effectively going mainstream, with big players using it and hardware decoders being able to deal with it etc.

Hi there!

You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of 4chan are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have used a tripcode when posting, but your identity has nothing at all to do with the conversation! Whoops! You should always remember to stop using your tripcode when the thread it was used for is gone, unless another one is started! Posting with a tripcode when it isn't necessary is poor form. You should always try to post anonymously, unless your identity is absolutely vital to the post that you're making!

Now, there's no need to thank me - I'm just doing my bit to help you get used to the anonymous image-board culture!

Genuine 4K anime would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better. Increasing the bit depth further gets you into diminishing returns real fast, and we're already in a quite good place with 10-bit, even when encoding in 4K.

>>
>>133867923
Didn't Daiz literally invent the encoding method that is being discussed? I'd say his identity is at least somewhat relevant.
>>
>>133867752
No, I wouldn't expect them to care about a hentai distributor. Don't be silly.

In an ideal scenario FAKKU would eventually branch out into doing regular manga (since it isn't that different from dealing with h-manga in terms of logistics and production), and then regular anime somewhere down the line.

Of course, we'd be most likely looking at several years before things would get to that point, but well, after waiting over half a decade for legal digital distro to get good, I doubt things would be changing much until then.
