Pretty sure Adventure original they had a lot of important scenes together, like Dark Masters arc were Mimi decides to abandon the team and he goes with her. Even as a kid she made romantic jokes towards him, and in the first episodes Mimi was basically making him do everything for her and he felt resposible because she was one of the youngests in the group.

The only similarities are the shields on Vikemon's shoulders that are from Shakkoumon's back. Vikemon's official art shows more silvery fur, and it's as hard as metal like Shakkoumon's skin. The lioncloth is from Angemon and the Mjolnir is from Ankylomon's tail. Also tiny hats.
