Arc's route probably won't surpass the manga and the Far side probably won't surpass the original, but Ciel's route should at least be better and hopefully Sacchin's route will exist.

I'd say you play the story mode of MB Re-Act.
There isn't a lot of fighting really, 6 fights per playthrough if I remember right, the rest is pure visual novel.
Act Cadenza and Actress Again both has it's own little stories (arcade mode) and aren't presented as visual novels.
You can also read the mangas ; Melty Blood, act 2 and Melty Blood X but personally I didn't liked the character designs.
