ITT: mediocre anime you loved regardless.
Mikakunin de Shinkoukei, underrated shit right hea
It's not really BAD either. It sure is pretty at least.
Don't waste your time trying to protect your "new profound unique anime" this shit is just like every other SoL series just with a different story. Same archetype, anime tropes. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean the show was bad, it was comfy as fuck to watch.
A fun ride, but it isn't gonna revolutionise the artform.
The last episodes made it worth the watch.
InuYasha. It was my gateway anime.
>Nobunagun aired before 4chan added webm
I don't really want to watch this again, but I remember thinking there was some good looking scenes in there
I like nobunagun, and omurice and spend 10 hours a day moving heavy shit around, THEN I come home and shag yer mum.
I think the show's main issue is that it didn't quite know if it wanted to pander to my heart or my penis. It did so well enough to warrant a full viewing, gotta take what mainstream loli fanservice you can get nowadays, although the ending was weak as shit. Also, there wasn't nearly enough of the little sensei. Like the rest of the show, she was adorable but also sexy as hell.
Still pissed the author died, I ate this show up. So good.
Mediocre might be pushing it, but alas, I enjoyed it anyway. Girls were real sex too, and the VA cast was surprisingly good.
I watched Strawberry Panic for girls loving girls, and that's exactly what I got.
I liked the ultra contrast style of the show
Came here to post this. Chaika was the epitome of mediocre, a perfect 5/10, but I enjoyed it's run immensely. Chaika threads were a rare example of pure shitposting and dank memeing, but in a fun way and not a retarded bullshit way. Also there was all the booty, lord in heaven all that booty. Bless you, Namaniku ATK.
I can feel that. It had a lot of strangely mixed feelings to me. I haven't read the manga but I wonder how much of that is intentionally part of the story. The vibe I got from it honestly was the complete opposite of what most get I think. It was like an anti-loli thing for me.
>dude randomly lands a job having his dick sucked by a little girl
>she's gotta suck dicks to survive
>she doesn't wanna suck dicks
>the whole show focuses on him and her doing things that are not lewd
>treats her just like his daughter
>incesty undertones over there anyway though
I felt like the show was judging me for wanting to fap to little girls, especially with the mom and cowtits being so fun and in my face. I really liked the artwork though, and I remember chuckling a few times at least.
I hate it when MC was first retarded and useless, but they did a good job in foreshadowing he was the Big Boss of the anime.
Mikakunin was actually really good though.
This whole thing is a clusterfuck that I think averages out to just sort of there, which is what I think of when I think of mediocrity.
Toriyama should've stuck to comedy. Arale-chan is solid gold.
This show was fun and comfy, Nekogami Yaoyorozu was amazingly good
If you're insane, but tell me why you think so.
They're not that far from Earth?
Crazy true and I wasn't even aware. The one moment I remember with clarity as my favorite is from episode 27.
I still miss it
That little robo-slut gave me a light piss fetish. Like I wouldn't want to drink it or shower in it, but I do want to stick it in while she's complaining about having to go to the bathroom, and fuck her so hard she pees herself.
A tale of self-destruction hidden inside of after school club anime. Still kind of miffed the most attention this show got was some guy being all "little girls playing with plastic guns in a country were private gun ownership is basically illegal = SUPPORTING 'MERICAN GUN CULTURE! "
Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran
Kannazuki no Miko
Soko no Strain
Seitokai no Ichizon (both seasons)
Rinne no Lagrange
Toaru Hikuushi e no Koiuta
Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to
Mediocre anime are the best. I just kick back and watch dumb shit happen.
Maybe there are hot chicks, big explosions, improbable strategies and crazy villains.
People who think that anime should be intelligent or artistic are massive wankers.
Who gives a fuck about artistry? If it's entertaining it's good, and mediocre anime are always entertaining.
I liked Omega but the main characters were mostly boring(not bad but generic). The only main who was interesting was Subaru, which was surprising because he was annoying at first.
I was kinda sad it didn't go anywhere good.
I liked his simple "I want to be a hero!" character, and the fact that he was actually a kid meshed well with the archetype, as opposed to black haired japanese self-inserts who just happened to get thrown into situations like that.
And he is best girl.
Ok, let me rephrase: it's my favourite gundam series.
Everything about it just clicked in all the right places for me: the designs, the action, the characters (goddamn I love Uso), the scale (I adore the Camion's idea of being a truck convoy and I really like how small the White Ark is).
Don't know how pic related hasn't been posted yet. I know I'm not alone.
I am enjoying World Trigger so much it's crazy.
Pretty damn generic on most counts, but nice setting and cute romances.
I love this series more than a show made to sell CDs deserves.
That includes GX too.
I liked Daimidaler. It set itself a premise and delivered on it. Enjoyable to watch, ecchi was just good enough.
>Don't waste your time trying to protect your "new profound unique anime" this shit is just like every other SoL series just with a different story. Same archetype, anime tropes. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean the show was bad, it was comfy as fuck to watch.
>tfw gx is favorite symphogear
>tfw seeing the massive backlash to it despite it having the most coherent narrative and consistently not shit animation of the three
>there are other people that watched and liked Strawberry Panic
Damn, I mean the show was awful but I'm glad that I'm not the only one with taste so shit.
The anime alone wasn't that good but Sasami was adorable.
Even with how the last few episodes went, I still had a blast.
DIG DOWN INSIDE
PAST ALL DECEPTION
YOU MOVE ON WITH YOUR FIST
AND YOUR LEGS
>Introduced someone who is basically a nigger but colored white
>Then Heki heichara happens and he's forgiven.
Also I loved this but I've never seen anyone mention it before.
This show is pure stupid fun and I love it.
Hibiki best boy
Came here to post this. Glad I'm not alone.
IT WAS INEVITABLE
Hey man Potatos and M'lady just looks bad but it's shaping up to be a contender for Aots.
In all honesty it was pretty mediocre, especially the 2nd season.
I think if it could've kept up the vibe from the first half of the season, it could've been great, despite being set in generic fantasy land. Anime needs more puckish rogue protagonists.
I want to three-time Mayumi!
The opening theme is GOAT, though.
I wouldn't be surprised, this is a bad season overall, for me at least. Everything I liked from synopsis ended up being shorts, and Yuru Yuri is not the same without Akari bullying. I hope new studio will keep Akari "dying" as the last scene, at the very least.
Yura's character arc is so much better than the rest of the show it's not even funny.
And then the other suvival game anime where the based protagonist steals the show.
Could Maid Guy beat One-Punch Man
Its also gay as fuck which is always a plus
The show made absolutely no fucking sense, but Everyone Is Crazy: The Anime was worth it just for the scenes where people were freaking the fuck out.
You could tell if an episode was going to be good or not based on the percentage of the episode that Dog was present.
I think I watched it mostly for the yuri and a bit of the action.
Wasn't even bad for what it was. A fair 7.
It's the same with video games, tv, and movies. If it isn't a 10/10 gift from God it's forgettable trash.
puella magi madoka magica! the story was bad however the art! the art was so fucking amazing! and the character designs. It was like Persona and Monogatari with a typical Magical Girl show mixed together!
I liked it very much
I agree, I actually really liked it too. Which is weird because it seems like a totally forgettable show
It's "Edgy high school girl faces evil aliens ad infinitum" done before, and the alternative artstyle thing is really boring.
I agree with the OP(Original poster), it fits this show pretty well, user the 3 episode rule to see if you're gonna like it or not
Wakamoto is excellent in that one.
I had no idea Nana Mizuki could do a cutesy voice like Shinobu's.
I never watched a whole show because of one girl before, but damn if Takeo isn't a miracle of the universe. I need more content of her besides the manga.
Fuck you guys, I enjoy this more than you could possibly imagine to understand. In fact, I rewatch it yearly.
Mikakunin is love, season 2 when?
this was so much better than I expected
I'm watching it right now actually and loving it. Shinobu's parts are extra funny to me because I keep hearing Tsubomi from precure, speaking of mediocre anime that I love.
Etotama. I loved it, but the general concensus is mediocre+, apparently. All characters were great, shame they had to make a recap episode.
Red = Blue > Everything else
I don't remember why I watched half of this show.
I wouldn't call it revolutionary or anything, but I think it demonstrated some great use of the technology and made some great looking 3d fight scenes and I'll at least remember it for that much for a little while. The rest was completely unremarkable I thought though. Still fun, don't get me wrong, just like I've seen all these characters and tropes and million times before in this sort of show already. But the 3D parts stood out.
Neat premise, decent first few episodes, episode 11 is trippy as hell, but the middle episodes are kind of forgettable. Don't remember the ending either but I remember thinking it was okay.
>Also still the best looking 3DCG animation to date
Never has so much effort gone into punching someone in the face.
It's not medicore just because it isn't a godly classic with regular threads on /a/. Many of these are simply
good animethat go somewhat underappreciated and you have exhibited good tasteby taking a liking to them.
Don't even start with that, anon.
This is true, but I intentionally call shows I liked bad or nitpick their flaws just to see if other people loved them enough to come at me with why they're great. Just a way to get a conversation going really.
The first season was great, while the second was solidly mediocre. No, I don't care about winemaking. I want college shenanigans and cute microbes doing cute things, damnit.
It will always have a place in my heart, even if the fight scenes were criminally lazy half the time.
My favorite shounen anime despite its mediocrity
I miss my retarded dragon girls.
A minority in this thread don't understand what it means.
If it's not memorable, it's mediocre. If it's memorable in a bad way, it's bad. If it's memorable in a good way it's good.
For example, Death note is a good anime. And Valvaria is a shit one.
Loved it all the way through. Fights were hype and the opening was hype. Surprisingly that soundtrack was pretty damn good too.
Plus I really liked the ending
Well, I don't know, maybe, It seemed forgotten as time passed
Ah, see your point, although that happends with a lot of anime, just see >>133845899
Wouldn't really call it mediocre
Pie threads will forever have a special place in my heart
>Picked a random anime to watch with roommate
>Marathon the whole thing
>Shocked and sadness throughout the anime
>Right when we finish I find a thread about it on /a/
>Discover the pie
God dammit /a/, if it wasn't for those gifs I wouldn't be laughing every time I think of that anime.
That's why I prefer to marathon shows once they're finished.
You don't break the flow and don't have enough time for every episode to sink in and read threads with people deconstructing every little thing.
You do miss on the shitposting and rare actual discussions though.
For me OP that would be Valvrave the liberator. I dunno how well received it was on /a/ since I wasn't around during that time but loved the shit outta that anime.
That ending though, the feels.
L-Elf best girl...
>I dunno how well received it was on /a/ since I wasn't around during that time but loved the shit outta that anime.
shit mang, go take a look through the archives. VVV threads were filled with fun shit like ERU ERUFU, boku ja nai and other cool stuff.
I enjoyed Ange a lot, but it wasn't very good.
Guilty Crown was a really pretty show, but the story was wasted on the setting. I didn't watch it with /a/, but I still really enjoyed the art and music.
Go ask /m/ they LOVE VVV. They practically have daily threads.
Nobunagun was great
Geronimo is best girl
Perhaps it wasn't mediocre, but we'll never get more of it - Kamisama Dolls. Also, that fucking amazing OP.
Same, I fucking love valvrave for some reason.
I still think the first season is really solid. Animation was okay, characters were likeable, and the writing was pretty good. It had themes and shit. It felt like it was going places.
>If I enjoyed it then for me it isn't mediocre.
I think this thread is for people who have learned to separate their own personal taste from general quality and appeal.
A mediocre show might be a guilty pleasure -- you know it's not worth your time, but you still enjoy it.
I can enjoy pizza and gourmet food. I can also tell the difference -- pizza can be both mediocre, and also very enjoyable.
Picture related, it's a fairly well-done shounen battle harem. Strictly mediocre, and I'm sad there is no season 2
. . . yet.
>off the top of my head
Clannad, Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, FLCL, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Great Teacher Onizuka, Gurren Lagann, Kanon, Rurouni Kenshin, Shirobako, Steins;Gate, and Trigun
>I'm a sucker for shitty anime, though
Buddy Complex also fits. Pic very related
Her husbando is the best thing in the show.
My nigga. That show was great, loved the opening. https://youtu.be/1jerArqBdBU
I am in the middle of watching all the Gintama episodes. Really enjoying it. I don't know how much /a/ likes it but I saved an image from a thread a while back regarding characters and some of the arc's.
>They practically have daily threads.
In terms of just anime, Beelzebub, even with all the filler and shitty animation at times, manga still better though, but including manga, Toriko is an 8/10 the entire way through for me, with anime being a 7/10, almost a 6 but saved by music
>Best girl wins at episode 1
Shit man I loved that show
I can't get enough of this shit.
>But the topic of the show is mediocre shows.
In which Bahamut doesn't belong. There's too many facets setting it apart from your average Joe anime. And in my opinion it utilizes its uniqueness successfully. Being too short, and in consequence rushing too much through the plot at some points are literally the only flaws in this show.
This season even. Going by production value it's just bad. Sadly because the manga adaption is a lot of fun and I still like the anime too. But it could be better.
Aika is best girl.
Casshern was very well done in every different aspect, it wasn't for everyone but far from mediocre,
you shit hoe
