Time for BL guys and Gigander 7.
40 minutes to go
I want to protect this smile.
There's no official word on it so far.
But given the format and pace of the show so far, I think it's likely that it will get a second cour.
Like some anon pointed out before, it seems like this is heading towards two endings: the finale for the first cour with Jirou finally leaving the Bureau and the finale for the second cour solving whatever made Jirou leave in the first place and sorting out the whole superhuman business.
I didn't realize Gigander Seven was is a reference to an actual thing.
...she dreams of being a little girl...
And she will never wake up anymore.
(CAN'T WAKE UP)
Episode 9: End of the Neverending Family.
>脚本：辻 真先 絵コンテ：吉田 徹 演出：孫 承希 作画監督：稲留 和美 メカニック作画監督：横屋 健太
Looks like it will be a Fuurouta-episode. Something about a guy who was Japan's first war prisoner in the U.S, and the family that was left behind during the war, and how Fuurouta took care of them.
Nobody can resist the cuteness of a loli robot that fights for JUSTICE while dreaming of being a real girl.
Some of them are pixiv-fanart. These two >>133842854 and >>133842882 are official art from one of the character designers of Conrevo.
And yes, he's the guy who drew Becky from Pani Poni.
Conrevo is actually quite well-liked.
The problem is that as an original show, it has a small fanbase that needs to build up slowly.
And a semi-serious superhero nostalgia show is very niche even in a medium catering to niche fans.
Animeanime.jp has an article talking about the resurgence of retro-shows in the form of Conrevo, Osomatsu-san, and the history of magical girls like Creamy Mami, the Magical Angel.
Synopsis of Episode 8.
>No One Knows Rainbow Knight
>The Secret Detective Team BL led by Yumihiko Otonashi refuses superhuman registration and has continued to act on their own with a massive robot named Gigander Seven. Then, Yumihiko receives a notice saying the evil superhuman Lucifer's Eyes will steal superhuman Rainbow Knight's "Crescent Gun" from a collector. Rainbow Knight is a popular superhuman who gave hope to Japan after the war, and Jiro too holds dearly an experience where he was saved by Rainbow Knight. However, Rainbow Knight, the hero of justice, has been labeled as the culprit of the "Otetsu Kidnapping," and there was a conspiracy theory regarding the death involved...
Earth-chan is a bad girl.
>Shinka 38, March (1963)
The beloved superhero of justice, Rainbow Knight, kidnapped a bunch of superpowered kids to protect them from the government who are studying them in their secret labs. He and the police fight it out, and he chooses to commit suicide. But not everyone really believes that Rainbow Knight died, and some even believe that it was a government conspiracy. Because of Rainbow Knight's action, the government chooses to enforce the Functional Secrecy Law again, which forces supers to go into hiding and removing themselves from the eyes of the public.
>Shinka 43, January (1968)
The Boys of Light are enacting some scheme to steal Rainbow Knight's items that have been collected by various people in an attempt to lure out the original Rainbow Knight and confirm if he really was a bad guy. Jirou foils their plan and has a talk about morality and justice with their leader, who is a metal-bender. Together, they defeat a rock monster.
That rock monster is controlled by Daishi Akita's blue psychic buddy from the government. In return for his help, Daishi had to make a promise with blue poltergeist to not oppose the plans for the Earth Defense Force. Apparently, these weird aliums aren't as united as believed.
>Shinka 47, October (1972)
Jirou and a reactivated Earth-chan fight Yoshimura on a field made of the corpses of I don't know, aliens (?), but Earth-chan is captured by Rex-FE,
who is controlled by the the BL leader, who now goes by the name of Daitetsu (?), which was the name of the original Rainbow Knight.
A bunch of detective kids want to know if Japanese Batman is JUSTICE or not, and are pretending to be his arch-enemy Eye of Lucifer, stealing his stuff to lure him out.
Funny facts. The superterrorist Eye of Lucifer, rumored to be a Nazi superscientist or the Mandarin, who nearly destroyed Japan and the whole world a few times is just a normal dude who is now living happily with his family and being a normal citizen, wanting no trouble at all.
Oh, superhero world of the 1960s, you so romantic with your simple world view.
"I don't have time to terrorize Japan anymore. I've got a wife and kids, you know."
Witches confirm that super robots make no sense.
Surely worth a billion yen among collectors.
Yeah, you're right. I got confused about that part. Having to manually put back the stream to whatever point I want to rewatch whenever I try to get something I missed is a hassle.
I'm glad she's fine.
In the veins of old comedic shows, I rather imagine her being some kind of horrible landwhale who beats him up whenever he tries to go back to wanting to destroy Japan instead of just working his butt as a normal sarariman.
>who are the bad guys
You fools, there are no good guys nor bad guys anymore. This will all soon become clear.
The only answer
This oldman is so sly making a distraction to steal the Rainbow Knight stuff while Jiro is convincing Daitetsu to stop doing seeing the world as black and white.
>we're no longer justice
THEN WHAT ARE YOU FIGHTING FOR JIROU?
What is and isn't moral?
Is superhumans being oppressed moral? Is humans being endangered by superhumans moral?
There is no moral high ground here. Both just want to minimize causalities for their own side.
Would you try to break up this cute little lock?
A pity they're still too early and too young to become supersentais.
Really nifty how they combine science and sorcery.
But how can they reach the best for both parts if they are not allowed to make dialogue? The bureau constantly picks the easy way out by assuming someone to be evil without trying to understand their position, or just backing decisions of the government that can actually endanger the citizens way more.
The thing is they don't do shit because they believe in something, they are just employees. As the time stopping guy said, for them doing what they don't want to do is being an adult.
At least Jirou is trying to question what is really the best.
so jaguar is the one who create equus and those guns
This shit is pretty fukken cool.
And why are others not trying to understand government? There are many different people who are part of country. Just because small group is feeling oppressed doesn't mean it is government's intent to do so. It might be consequence from policy that bring overall positive effect.
Jirou was shown not to wanting to see the bigger picture.
You might be right about that.
That's what I don't get. They look like masks but there is blood inside them so that implies that a lot of beings, not sure if humans, died using them or inside them.
Why would Jaguar or the BL kid kill so many beings is really creepy to me.
>What on Earth can I do, in a hopeless world like this?
>Only those who pursue this question can become the future
>So begin the revolution
Don't you see anon? He's fighting for the future he may've ruined by being a pawn in the bureau's two faced game. He seeks redemption to truly become
But they don't even try to show him the big picture. They are constantly hiding things. No matter what you say, if you hide your acts it's because you are not completely sure that they are righteous.
Also a democracy is not about ignoring the minorities, the type of government you describe is a lot similar to a fascist regime.
>But they don't even try to show him the big picture. They are constantly hiding things.
Its for his own good. We can see he didn't react good if he is shown the truth. Future Jirou is completely ignoring the greater picture and focusing on the things he considers bad.
>Also a democracy is not about ignoring the minorities
In many democracies, minorities are extremely vocal. And that gives them priviledges normal citizens don't get. That is fact in many democracies.
>democracy is not about ignoring the minorities
It's impossible not to ignore minorities.
In democracy, the only thing that matters is the popular opinion, which means anyone that is against the popular will be ignored unless he can convince people to follow his idea.
>Kikko believes her
This is why you don't deserve to win the Jiroubowl.
Are you kidding me? how am I supposed to understand what's going on like this.
>Shiba Raitou just starts singing
The heck, man?
This way of thinking is very dangerous.
>The phrase "tyranny of the majority" (or "tyranny of the masses") is used in discussing systems of democracy and majority rule. It involves a scenario in which decisions made by a majority place its interests above those of an individual or minority group, constituting active oppression comparable to that of a tyrant or despot. In many cases a disliked ethnic, religious or racial group is deliberately penalized by the majority element acting through the democratic process
Also minorities have to be vocal otherwise they wont have equivalent rights as the majority. It's very uncommon for a minority to have more rights then the "normal people", unless we are talking about european descendants on third world countries.
>Its for his own good. We can see he didn't react good if he is shown the truth. Future Jirou is completely ignoring the greater picture and focusing on the things he considers bad.
>being a brainwashed faggot
>not following the true path of justice
I bet you'd sell your soul to the man you fucking puppet.
He said in episode 4 singing is a way for him to cool down to prevent overheating.
How do you want them to sub when there's various conversations going on at the same time?
It'll probably be explained later. Nothing in the timeline is actually connected to the current events nor hinted besides the obvious Earth-chan joining Jirou. I guess you could say they wanted to leave you pondering until next weeks episode.
Its not that uncommon outside USofA.
Here, gypsies have special treatment. If you criticize that you are going to get a backlash.
Same shit with the immigrants in europe. They get preferential treatment compared to normal people and if you criticize that, then you are inhuman bastard.
>Justice does not have to be good, however.
Correct but it must be right. If it isn't right then what is truly good in the world? If justice is no longer good we must fight those who have made it so and only then will justice regain its proper meaning.
Why the hell would he kidnap a bunch of superhuman kids?
By tying them up?
>events of episode 8 take place October 47th of Shinka Era
Well its safe to say Shirou won against Daitetsu and the clock faggot seeing as his and Fuurouta confrontation with Campe is during August, 48th of Shinka Era.
That's not true that immigrants get better treatment in Europe. I don't want to be tumblr but your privilege is showing.
Come on, the person have too flee to another country because of extreme poverty or war. Might die on the way. May not even speak the language, will face a lot of racism because of his color and culture. Probably will end up in a job that pays less then the average.
When the governments give them what you cal "preferential treatment" it's actually for your own good. If they get treated even worse and don't have any protection in one or two generations the level of crime and urban poverty exponentially rises.
Trust me, in the past my government didn't do shit for immigrants and now the streets are full of homeless people, the down town is dangerous as fuck and the everything turned out worse for everyone involved.
Someone make a webm of the Gigander 7 sequence.
>Hypocritical courage... vague aspirations...
>Having such things is surely not useless
Man, these fucking lyrics. Jirou truly is fighting for what is right even against the justice he once believed in.
Somebody remind me what this issue was
>83 years old and writing anime episodes
From last week's episode
That's just how things were in the 60s.
Do you seek the help of a witch? I bet this little fella knows one who could help you.
I wonder why Emi doesn't walk the path of justice with Jirou.
>still no full scene of Jirou choosing justice over the pussy
Make it happen BONES.
Lord knows what their sales department was thinking about making volume 1 one episode only.
Though I read that the later volumes will pack three episodes each in them.
I just hope that Bandai will sell some nifty mecha merchandise, or that GSC will make at least a little Earth-chan nendo.
This split of different timelines makes me confused, I still don't know what the fuck is going on
It could happen. The Anime Consortium is part of the production company, and GSC is part of the ACJ. Fan reaction towards Earth-chan have been overwhelmingly positive. Earth-chan is cute and pudgy enough for a nendo.
There are a few missing pieces we don't know but this makes the most sense out of some things http://anitay.kinja.com/making-sense-of-the-concrete-revolutio-timeline-so-far-1738566900
I'll give you failure because sadly the sales are bad, but calling this a trainwreck is pure shitposting
Also, sales don't determine how many cours a season of a given show has. That's decided during production.
>barely any lewd
GET POPULAR DAMMIT
Everyone at this point knows that Kikko really really really likes Jirou.
A webm of Fuurouta holding Jirou's eye open would also be nifty.
Prettiest boy of light.
>Everyone at this point really really likes Jirou.
Hey, there's an advantage to having a centaur mech after all.
Giant revolvers are always a good idea.
I would actually be hesitant about disliking Daishi. At first, it seemed obvious that he's a bad guy, but it could be that he's actually one of the moderate members of his psychic conspiracy ring.
We now know that supers are discriminated because of an old law, and Daishi seems to genuinely want to improve the situation of supers. Also, he opposes Japan joining the Earth Defense Force, something that many youths in Japan also don't like, and new junior member Judas was also of the opinion that the EDF might be a mistake.
So far, it seems that the blue psychic seems to be the dominant member of their little trinity calling the shots.
Perhaps Daishi isn't bad after all.
On the other hand, this does not necessarily excuse the bureau keeping secrets from Jirou.
>Looks like it will be a Fuurouta-episode
Well, there were Muraki, Eiji Komatsu and (Credited) Norimitsu Suzuki.
But except the mecha fight by Muraki, I think this episode sakuga still hasn't topped episode 3, 4 or 5.
Next episode too, I think. I just hope they will go crazy for the last three or two episodes.
Rex-FE being a fusion of Gigander-7 and Equus? Now that would be one heck of a sweet idea.
Perhaps the Strange Powers Risk Management Office monitors those illegal magic users.
>dumb little brats shittalking about Rainbow Knight
Daitetsu would make a fine shitposter on 4chan.
I want more of the Boy's Love club.
With such a title, it will most likely end with that family all dying or something like that.
Prepare for a Fuuruota-cries-and-learns-another-lesson-about-the-futility-of-life episode.
Yep, it pretty much seems to be a slightly tweaked Great Leader.
I know, it's so great.
A very likely possibility. This way, they can blackmail the Boys of Light.
>Give back the items you stole
>We don't know where they are, we swear.
>Ara ara, if you won't cooperate and return the items now, we'll have to report you to the police, and since you're not registered, the Bureau can't "protect" you.
The director is somewhat of a team with the other alien government officials although it seems that each has his own version of a plan
Jiro is working at the bureau to protect what he believes is Justice.
Emi just wants Jiro and doesnt mind doing the shady jobs of the bureau, something Jiro wouldnt like.
Kiko is after the J.
Fuurota is working at the bureau just being with his new family.
We dont really know much about Time dude
>Earth chan saying she can't breath when grabbed by Rex FE
>Not once did her rings or satellite antennae showed up
>Never showed herself in satellite form
Did fucking the chuunis made her a real girl?
>Earth chan saying she can't breath when grabbed by Rex FE
That's what Daisuki wrote.
Funimation has it that it's just very tight, which would kinda make more sense in that context.
>Daisuki has shit translations but good encoding
>Funi has decent translations but shit encoding
Doesn't look like it. Also, I don't know if those psychic beings can even possess living objects. Their flesh bodies suddenly dropped down when they made their mindmeld-talking. It's very possible that they can only possess unliving or dead objects. Trains, bricks, corpses... Or at the very least flesh bodies tailored vat-grown in a lab. Shouldn't be a problem with the superhero-technology in the ConRevo-world.
Looks more like Unicorn Gundam to me.
Do we know who the monster inside of her is yet?
Can Emi disguise as a male? Is she a male or female by default? Can she reset her appearance to factory settings? Does she have a gender at all?
In the end of Kaijuu boom epsiode Kikko was talking about Youkai boom, we still haven't got episode about that, have we?
>>He said in episode 4 singing is a way for him to cool down to prevent overheating.
>Whenever a bad guy fights a metal hero and a theme song is played, it's actually the protagonist singing it to cool down
This is now my headcanon.
It seems that Emi is a female. I mean, the crows and ravens she summoned called her princess, and this form most likely is her original one.
>In the end of Kaijuu boom epsiode Kikko was talking about Youkai boom, we still haven't got episode about that, have we?
Nope, we haven't.
>Jirou and Robocop arguing at the start of the episode
That was hilarious. This episode was pretty great. ConRevo is steadily becoming one of my new favorite shows. Maybe its just because I'm such a fanatic about oldschool anime.
And the best part is that most of the fags were weeded out after the first episode because of time skips.
These threads are some of the most chill I've had in ages.
>I-I totally am not into Rainbow Knight anymore. I'm now a mature person who is into mature things. Liking Rainbow Knight is a thing I did when I was younger.
>Rainbow Knight is my husbando. Nobody is allowed to talk shit about him. I have replica of his costume, I have all his cards, I even have a little action figure of him and his nemesis. Rainbow Knight a best.
>Rainbow Knight a shit. Only gay fucking fags like that thing. Get a true hero, you old fucking losers.
Nobody must ever know that I'm also a Rainbow Knight fan.
Jirou made him angry, so he had to sing to calm his robo-nerves down.
Yeah, forgot about that feature of him
Just a friendly old guy. Totally harmless.
Only now do I notice the cows being beamed up by the flying saucers.
>he dies in a future episode
>he accepts his fate and sings slowly while all his functions shut down
Don't call him Shiba. That guy is dead, with his obsolete sense of Justice.
He is now Raito. Iron Detective Raito.
>my face when this scene
Episode 3 was so good. It convinced me to keep watching the series to the end.
So this is confirmed 2 cour then?
Do you think once we're done with the individual heroes and reached the breaking point that all the following episodes will be in the future timeline?
That was also my anime of the winter season 2014/2015.
According to the official website, Emi is at least half-human.
>Voiced by Aki Toyosaki
>A woman with unfathomable moods who is a core member of the Superhuman Bureau. She is highly skilled in tracking the enemy, possesses uncanny knowledge and strange skills. Having lived with Jiro from the time he was in grade school, they are childhood friends whose fates are closely linked. She was born from a union between a human and a different species which has been known since ancient times as “yokai” or goblins. Behind her somber expression is a woman who dreams of a world where her species and man can live in harmony.
Opposing the bureau, while still trying to stay true to the spirit of justice.
>>Voiced by Aki Toyosaki
These damn talented VAs always throw me for a loop.
I want a Jirou figma. Give it to me.
I just googled that picture: Why, Japan?
>Orange and pink tie are traps, aren't they?
Zero controlling an Eva? Sounds like a copyright clusterfuck.
The episode was good. Even through i got kind of lost a bit i understand what happened. The sad thing is that it looks like the next episode is kind of filler but of course in thia series every ep is full of information
The two episodes where Fuurouta was somewhat prominent have been a little bit lighter on the action than the other episodes, and been more about world building. On the other hand, it looks like next episode will have a battle against a frigging combiner-bot like in Transformers, so it could be more action-y than expected.
Why is he called rainbow knight, though? Nothing rainbowy about him.
Dohohohohoho. Kikko is a virgin who doesn't know how to suck dicks.
You're a fag, mate.
As the newcomer to the group, she's the one that the audience is supposed to relate to the most. Meanwhile Emi is just constantly being overly mysterious and the audience has no reason to trust her at all
No frigging clue, man. I mean, that guy is totally a homage to Moonlight Mask, and they even have him stand in front of a crescent moon. The moon motive is so obvious. Yet, the official pages name him Rainbow Knight.
A Jap-fag might perhaps help out by pointing out how accurate this is.
According to google translate, 天弓 (tenyumi) means sky and bow. Bow in the sky, so a crescent moon would kinda make sense. A rainbow might perhaps also make sense, but that is spelled niji ( 虹 /にじ) according to the internet.
Damn, I love this series so much.
If it keeps this steady pace till the end it wil certainly become my AOTY.
I love how shady and complex every character (besides Kikko) has been and that "everyone has its own reasons and not everything is completely good nor completely evil" vibe.
I'm so glad shitposters and other faggots left the show after the first episode thus these threads have been fun and actual discussion ever since.
