Alright, I've got the final three chapters translated, meaning all that stands in the way of finishing the series is how long I can manage to sit here typesetting. Let's do this.
>A truly powerless, worthless magic
That explains why he's in charge of Colorless.
Both I think. When it comes down to it, she's a sociopath. Sometimes it's impossible to change a person's nature, especially when their brain is wired wrong. The best you can do is to drug her until she acts right because she can't be fixed.
She gave him several chances. He pissed them away.
And that's all. I hope you've enjoyed it. The story had quite a few glaring flaws that only became more apparent as it went on, but I still really liked it, and look forward to the day it continues. Thanks for reading.
Thanks OP. Same as you, quite enjoyed it despite all the very noticeable flaws.
Fuck, I wish he had more time in the spotlight.
So he definitely got cut before he could finish it. Poor planning.
Maybe in like 3-4 years after several other series he can continue it. If all else fails, there is always doujinshi. Plenty of cons to release your work at.
Wow that was the most anticlimactic thing I've read all week. Sera's pretty cute though.
I should mention again, I'm considering doing a chapter or two of the author's new series in Miracle Jump. Other than that I think I'll cut down on the translating a bit, but if there's any other series /a/ wants to see finished, I'm open to suggestions for when I've got more time.
>tfw I literally did these last few chapters to avoid thinking about my CS work
Story was super edgy, but I can't see it being delivered in any other way that would make it any better. Aka akasaka, ill try to remember that name :^)
Genius girl and genius guy both have a crush on the other, but neither of them wants to be the one to confess so every chapter is them coming up with plots to get the other one to confess to them.
I kind of love that premise.
I think this mangaka is a much better idea man than actual writer. But he can, at least, hit you in the feels a bit.
IB 's main interesting thing is that all the these fucked up kids actually self aware and realize they're fucked up. And that makes it all the worse for them.
That sounds perfect, how dialogue heavy is it?
And if you are taking suggestions how about this? https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=102951 its only 3 volumes and the first chapter was pretty good. Then against it's possible it went to shit
Yeah, his ideas are sound. Plus the eyes.
>That sounds perfect, how dialogue heavy is it?
Usually fairly standard, but every now and then it remembers the characters are supposed to be insanely smart and you get text dumps.
I just grabbed the first picture off Google. Forgive me.
Just noticed that at the very beginning of the volume it had a little afterword went the loli caught up.
Fuuuuck, I saw that it completed earlier and re-read from the beginning. Many thanks.
Thanks a lot.
I like him, seems like he really loves this story and really want it presented in the best manner possible. That alone gives him far more integrity than so many manga artists.
I don't get why people are so against it for being "edgy".
They are kids who has been wronged their whole life. You guys think they'll be all sunshine? I don't regard characters or actions as edgy if they're a natural part of the story.
I thought the beginning was pretty edgy, but it improved. I can usually handle edge when it's about people actually confronting or responding to their problems and not just about people wallowing in their darkness.
Well written characters tend to be well liked. And she is well written. She may not be able to sympathize with people, but we can sympathize with her for not being able to do that.
Thanks so much. IB is unpolished and unrefined in many places, but it still really struck me and is possibly even a candidate for my top 10 - just need to let the ending settle in.
Really glad that it all got scanned.
Thanks again jag.
I liked the ending more than I thought I was going to. It didn't wrap up anything the first chapter showed with the world being destroyed, but it was a satisfying ending for Kuro x Best Girl Time Yandere. I'm also glad Sera wasn't "saved" as that would have ruined her for me.
Yume is confirmed best girl, it's pretty undeniable and I was a Sera-fag for a good while. Sera is still #2 but you have to imagine she'd enjoy making you suffer in a relationship, and not even in a kinky way.
Wasn't a huge fan of the hamfisted THIS IS THE PLOT exposition of individual happiness and nihilism and whatnot, but it was probably to be expected. Was disappointed to see that Kuro's character really hasn't progressed that much from chapter one.
Witch stole the manga but Sera's faces during this part are gold
When someone dies everyone wants to claim their belongings for themselves but most people are little bitches and wait a couple months because of social etiquette
this is an alpha
She's so fucking cute and psychopathic. Loli Sera vs Loli Yume who wins
To be fair as long as loli time witch doesn't know the specific time/place then he can do whatever.
It's not like they're dead, their world practically consists of themselves and Kuro who is busy trying to bang ghosts and/or waiting for the loli to be legal. I think it's safe to assume they'll end up together.
I liked seeing that it acknowledged that Kuro had started to change, but it was too short of a time span to make him good. He experienced some joy being friends with people, witch confessing and them going out for a while. Then witch gets shot and he goes full edge again.
Hopefully it returns someday and he can actually make legit progression
So with the manga (temporarily hopefully) over, what were your favorite pages?
Teleporter defending the staircase is a classic. I also really liked the Loli Witch telling Kuro he sucks at games page even if the art was weird. >>133828022 is great too and Yume coaxing the confession out of Kuro even if I hate the "yeah I know" on the following page.
Was probably the emotional peak of the series for me.
It's a cheesy page, but the it's what convinced me that this was going to be a good manga. At the point though i never expected it to get full translated.
When Akasaka tries he can do some really nice stuff.
I couldn't explain why but the "hear this and be surprised!" was probably my favorite line and delivery of most of the manga.
The page where Sera takes the lead in best girl race for a long time
together with the next page
Honestly, almost all the pages in that staircase section was great. Wish he had his own arc.
>this will probably be the last ib thread
bye losers, thanks jag
2 years waiting for updates, and now it's ending. This is what I've been waiting for all this time and yet it still doesn't feel right.
Sure was a lot of talk about the end of the world and depictions of the world being destroyed that never actually happened.
Looking at this page and pic related I'm guessing there's a third person there that Kuro is facing who actually wrecked the planet. He's not in his ultradark edgemode which is interesting.
>Is this one of those "connection" things they say people have?
Sera a cutest.
Alright, so I probably won't have time to do the full chapter for a bit since I pushed off a lot of stuff to finish ib, but here's the color pages for the first chapter of Akasaka's new series as a sort of teaser. It's running in Miracle Jump with no volumes out yet, and the translated name is "Kaguya Wants to be Confessed to: The Geniuses' War of Love and Brains".
Hope I'll get to do the rest of the chapter soon.
Really is a part 1 even if a part 2 never comes. Still haven't seen plenty of the ibs, still have no idea how the ibs got this power or if there is a mastermind out there who can give the powers to people.
Don't know who Yume refers to as the bigger evils than Kuro to Sera
Don't know what was so important about that fire that it keeps coming back up from unrelated characters
Don't know what it is that forces Yume to go back in time specifically to the day of the fire
>The heroine looks so smug there
You haven't seen anything yet.
Think she was just abused by her parents, may have been some sexual abuse from the father given pic.
Though the hair does look similar to the mother's, who knows that could be her on the ground there, she was definitely abusive as chapter 16.5 showed.
>I still havent... to you...
What haven't they done yet, anon?
keep dreaming. rage monster was made by him being a permavirgin
>witch can travel through time to cockblock him
>witch can also travel through time to fuck him at random intervals throughout his life
So did loli Yume break the cycle?
This is fucking confusing. Older witch implied that she remembered the time Sera and Kuro was fighting ever since she was a kid. So the loli will still grow up eventually, go back in time and die?
yup in less than a year too
and as she's growing up in the past she'll occasionally pop in and ruin kuro's sex life
It's implied that loli was the one who fell in love with him first way back anyways
I imagine if Aka wanted to imply banging he'd of done it in a more direct way. They split up that night anyway, didn't go to her house and that was the night she died.
Like most things time travel, it's kinda confusing. Pic related would lead me to think not. It just seems like there is huge personality gap between Loli Yume, the Yume who was flustered while stalking Kuro in 16.5, and the grimdark Yume in chapter 2 or whatever.
Forgot the pic
ib of fodder, he could multiply I think looking at the Yume Colorless fight. His face is terrifying
Yeah I really don't like the model of time Aka seems to be using.
It's worth it to go back in time to stop Kuro from holding hands with another girl but not worth popping in during the 4 fucking years of containment that drove you insane?
Whatever happened to Colorfull being a huge organization?
>Yeah I really don't like the model of time Aka seems to be using.
I thought they were gonna do that thing where you recreate the scene so it would seem like you were killed if you viewed it from the past.
Like that part of hoshi no samidare
It's near the end of Biscuit Hammer.
In this case, I think it creates a stable time loop with loli going back in time later for some reason we don't know about. That could explain why she didn't want to memorize the time, since now she knows she has to go back and save him when she's older.
>we get a sequel
>ib of resurrection
>ib of alternate universes
one of these will appear and make witch alive again anyways so why even worry
I mean Kuro brought someone back to life (in a sense) even though his power seemingly had nothing to do with that. Hell the Akashic records guy could probably look up the perfect way to restore a rotting gunshot ridden brain and bring back witch if he had enough time.
That's the thing, we are supposed to like her, but in the end she is a bitch and probably hates Kuro and they have to rebuild their relationship once again.
To be honest the twist with her being an Ib was a good one, really good one.
>we'll stop the ibs trying to destroy the world!
>on second thought we'll destroy the world ourselves
>we'll kill Iroha if you don't give us Toiro!
>you didn't give us Toiro and our gunman is still there but we'll let you off this time!
>I won't let you find Sera!
>I'll let you find Sera!
What the fuck is wrong with Colorful
Everyone but Sera was woefully incompetent. Leader manipulated everyone and couldn't affirm his own resolves due to his pity for the ibs. Every one of leader's plans failed, Sera's was the only successful one of the lot.
>Leader manipulated everyone and couldn't affirm his own resolves due to his pity for the ibs
He had resolve at first, but learning more about the ibs forced him to pity them even though it went against his original resolve.
Not to mention the ib of invisibility who was never mentioned again
>the ib of invisibility has been a member of colorful and has just been watching this entire time
Manipulating sight isn't traditional invisibility. She has to have personal contact with each and every person she uses her powers on not to mention maintaining it for however long. If her powers had that big of a reach she'd already have turned the city into a utopia of forced happiness.
>She has to have personal contact with each and every person she uses her powers on
If she doesn't touch someone, they cant even see her in the first place. Her actual body is still in a coma, everyone's just seeing the tulpa that she puts into their field of vision.
Perhaps we're just interpreting it differently. When I hear invisibility magic I think the ability to turn something invisible. Iroha can only turn something invisible by modifying everyone's sense who sees it. Iroha herself isn't invisible because she doesn't exist outside her body. She can remotely plant an image of herself into someone's senses, but it's not like she's invisible to everyone else while doing that, she simply doesn't exist to anyone else.
He really is screwed up. Nose has been cut off, scars everywhere, I would say that's a gouged out eye but he's crying so I dunno. Would explain why his only purpose for Colorless has been to multiply and hold guns and look tough.
Iroha comes with the least amount of baggage.
With witch if you make her unhappy or want to break it up for some reason you're pretty much dead. You can't escape a time traveling yandere
With Sera you're pretty much dead once she gets curious about if she'd feel anything. She'd also cheat on you to see your despair and pain. It's impossible to have a relationship with her as she's established.
What the Hell was their plan, anyway? Blow up the world on the off-chance it brings them to Heaven, but they don't know for sure because the guy who can know anything didn't bother checking?
Use Toiro's Ib of Heroes to turn into souls and go through Heaven's Door to live without needing food or needing to fight. What I don't understand myself is why they couldn't just wait for naturally dying off and instead had to nuke the planet and send everyone there immediately.
But he and Toiro never dated
Does she cry to him whenever something goes wrong?
>loli yume falls on love with Kuro
>thinks she's the shit so goes back in time to fix Kuro's trauma regarding toiro
>ends up causing the fire thus killing her love rival
>spends the rest of her time schlicking it while stalking Kuro as he descends into edge
For the people talking about Iroha hating Kuro, she just said that he was her family and that he loved her.
For her Toiro is simply more important, she loves Kuro but would go further for Toiro. Also she said she despised him in the heat of the moment.
then don't stare at him for years, if her priority was to tell him off for faking that shit then do that.
She could sit there and stare all her life but if the guy thinks he's schizophrenic and doesn't realizing it's a very subtle form of passive-aggressiveness then nothings going to get resolved.
You gotta admit mangaka sorta gave up on making Iroha seem like a legit person with reasons along with the rest of the colorful people when he learned he was getting axed.
Originally all the colorful stuff was probably going to be fodder to get the characters to the point they were at to enable a confrontation between kuro and sera. Unfortunately he had to abridge it before character arcs could be resolved
I think the main problem with the manga was that he was told to rush it. It's sad because you really do feel that he has planned it well and thought it through. Good manga gets axed while shit manga runs for hundreds of chapters.
Also, Kuro "knew" that Toiro wasn't a hallucination all along, he was too scared to admnit it.
What I don't understand is why he would kill everyone for a plan that MIGHT work.
>Also, Kuro "knew" that Toiro wasn't a hallucination all along, he was too scared to admnit it
Yeah I'm too sane to even understand how that stuff works. All these characters would have benefited from western medical standards.
This would be a superpowered SOL school life comedy if they didn't live in the same country that created the Japanese Cold.
Reading the afterword kind of make me sad. Guy had everything in his mind since his youth, and finally get the chance to realize it, though no enough people bought the manga, so they crushed his dreams.
Come on, they're supposed to be the most misfortune bunch of kids. If they're happy they lose their power like Yume did before dying.
Kuro wronged Toiro, Iroha wanted him to stop being a fucking coward and just outright say it. Which he did before they Iroha got back, however fake Toiro didn't want to talk because she was afraid he'd figure that she's a fraud.
There was a documentary showing how useless nip psychologies were. And that they were like Africa-tier when it came to the handling of mental illness, which explains the high suicide rate.
