I've just finished watching it, I am not impressed at all.

The character designs and the way they animate them is abysmal, shit is so lazy you can see the seams in every single scene.

Its especially jarring since the backgrounds and environments are rather well done, shit stands out.

But the writing I am the most concerned about, even though I am terribly glad they don't mention the 02 kids whatsoever and pretend it didn't happen.

4 Episodes in and the only amount of character development I've seen is Tai having doubts because somebody got hurt in the Greymon-Kuwagamon fight offscreen.

Even obvious potential tear jerkers like Tai and Agumon reuniting after fuck knows how long is simply played out as:"Yay! Ok lets fight."

Then there is things that oddly stand out and have no effect like Yamato getting mad at strangers for shittalking all Digimon, its this odd drama moment that doesn't have any build up or pay off.

Considering we're on a time limit of 24 Episodes I am surprised how much time they wasted on just showing off everyone doing random things, especially eating.

Its all over the place because the writers seem to think we need to know what each character is doing at the time: "Oh the cellphones aren't working, I can't call everyone else."

What they should have done is focus on fewer characters first, home in on, for example, Tai and Yamato, their rivalry, how they changed, reuniting with their partners and figuring out whats going on.

Then they call everyone for help and we can devote time to the next pair of characters.

Tai especially should have started out different, he doesn't seem to have much of a personality at the moment, you could have him like this shadow of his former past that is kinda down, who gets super excited and into it when he gets Agumon back and they fight.

You could have like Tai overdoing it and directly or indirectly causing somebody to get seriously hurt, on screen and then have him build himself up once more.
