Fuck, this was awkward to watch.

The animation is terrible, the artstyle inconsistent, the backgrounds are either filtered photos or just really unimpressive, fighting scenes were just the digimon beating each other with some shots of the humans just standing there mute and motionless, there are several awkward paused during dialogue, sometimes the characters' faces don't match watch they're saying, the volume of background music and sound effects are all over the place, and THAT FUCKING PTSD FLASHBACK OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

At least it had good fanservice.

They could just make one evolution sequence going all the way from Agumon/Gabumon to Omegamon. Hell, they pretty much did that already, but their evolutions happened during the fight, making the whole thing completely lukewarm, specially when compared to the child -> adult evolution sequences.

It's even worse if you consider that prior to that point we didn't even know the digimon could currently go beyond adult, since no one bothered to bring their perfects despite getting blown the fuck out by every enemy that appeared.

This episode was dull and boring as sin, visually dry as hell, directing is a dark pit, no sense of choregraphy whatsoever for the fights, audio is gigantic zero beyond pasting cheap remixes of Adventure to bank on nostalgia factor. Characters are piles of nothing with the exception of Taichi being an annoying fag now.

Hunters had bad, average and decent parts. This piece of crap of a first episode was as painful to watch as some of Hunters low points. Hunters did a lot of better shit than this.
